Just today I noticed my check was cashed that I sent in for the mail away exclusive recon ravage. The hopes of it being sent soon is look good , but not a gaurantee. Some of the other fan site members have also made this claim see images of this figure here at seibertron.com

TF3: Josh Duhamel's return and the movie script's completion

Today, comingsoon.net has reported and confirmed that Josh Duhamel will be returning to reprise his role of Major William Lennox in the third live action Transformers movie. While it was to be expected, no actual confirmation had been given until this point.

Also of notice is that Duhamel mentions that the script for the movie was just recently completed and that filming will begin in the summer.

Leaders Starscream, Battle Hooks Optimus Prime, and Battle Ops Bumblebee

Can't wait to get your hands on the latest Leader class figures? Well, this might tide you over till then. The-Arker has posted several in-package images of the upcoming Leader class Starscream, Battle Hooks Optimus Prime, and Battle Ops Bumblebee figures.

Starscream is a faithful representation of his ROTF CGI model. His special features include pop-up weapons and arm-to-cannon conversion. His bio reads:

"OPTIMUS PRIME may think him a coward, but STARSCREAM never flees a fight out of fear alone. Every retreat is calculated to keep him alive long enough to return and destroy his opponents with overwhelming power. As long as the AUTOBOTS seek him in force, he will remain hidden. As soon as OPTIMUS PRIME ventures out alone, however, STARSCREAM will strike."

Battle Hooks Optimus Prime is similar to the first release of the Leader Class ROTF Optimus Prime figure, with a few exceptions. Most notable are his battle damage paint apps, his mouthplate-less "Commander Mode Head" (previously used on the single release of the Buster Optimus Prime figure), and his new "Snap-Out Battle Hooks" in place of his swords. his bio reads:

"OPTIMUS PRIME is under no illusions about how dangerous STARSCREAM really is. The DECEPTICON second-in-command might be a coward, but he's still smart and powerful enough to present a real threat to Earth. The AUTOBOT leader has human and AUTOBOT agents combing the globe for the hiding air warrior. As soon as they find him, though, it will be OPTIMUS PRIME alone who goes in to bring him down."

Battle Ops Bumblebee is the latest installment in the Bumblebee toy army that stands as tall as a Leader Class figure. Its features include a flip-down battle mask in robot mode, arm-to-cannon conversion, and flip-out cannons in vehicle mode. There aren't any images of his bio, so we can't tell what it reads as.

Japanese Animated toy commercial

A commercial for the Japanese version of the Transformers Animated toyline has made its way onto YouTube. This commercial advertises most of the the first wave's figures including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide (Bulkhead), Prowl, Ratchet, Megatron, Starscream, Blackarachnia, and Lockdown (as well as Cliffjumper and Dirge being included at the end).

Like the commercials for previous Transformers toylines, this commercial features fast-paced stop-motion animation (instead of the toys being manipulated by human children like in the U.S. commercials). And as an extra treat, some G1 sound effects were thrown into the mix as the icing on the cake of this commercial.

TFCC issue 31 available for public viewing

The latest issue of the Hasbro Transformers Collector's Club magazine, issue 31, has been placed on their website in its entirety for full public viewing. This act is to encourage those who have not yet joined the club to becoem a member if they so desire. The contents of this magazine issue include an image of the upcoming Generations WFC Bumblebee figure in robot mode (seen previously), "Sound the Bell" - an interview with G1 voice actor Michael Bell, an interview with High Moon Studios's Matt Tieger that also serves as a preview to the upcoming "War For Cybertron" video game, MTMTE profiles for G1 Runabout and the G2 Decepticon Jetstorm, the latest club comic story "The Coming Storm - Part 1", and LOTS more!

&Thanks to Allspark forum member, Monocle, who uploaded an ad for Hasbro and Discovery's new network, Hub, from Brandweek, we get the very first glimpse of not only a My Little Pony, and some random dog, peeking around the hub logo, but none other than Transformers: Prime Bumblebee in what appears to be his fully CGI rendered new character model glory! What do you think of BB's new look?

Thanks to Searchlight for finding out that Amazon.com has now posted a cover picture for the much anticipated Transformers Animated: The Allspark Almanac Vol. 2, and along with it come an all new listing for Transformers Animated Omnibus Volume 1 which appears to be a collection of the first four smaller episode books that have been released.

WHOSE RESPONSIBLE THIS?

You all know we here at Unicron.com try to keep our opinions out of our news posts as much as the next guy. But I think this is a special occasion.

Now, TFW2005.com has some scans and information up of the latest TV Magazine, which has information about Japanese Transformers Animated. It states that TFA will actually be a prequel to the live-action movie series, so it'll be interesting to see how the writers tie it in.

But this is all just filler until the bad part, and our second part of news. You see, Masahiko Yamazaki, a marketing officer working for Takara Tomy related to the series, gave an interview with Figure King recently. He had this to say:

"It might be possible to release the products canceled by Hasbro to the Japanese market"

That means that Hasbro will be canceling some of the TFA toys previously announced to have been released. So who do you think it's going to be? Repaints like Thundercracker and Vortex Blurr? Or even worse, the new molds like Rodimus and Blackout? Let us know what you think in our forums!

Transformers: War For Cybertron - Roundup

There's all kinds of news on the highly anticipated Transformers videogame "War for Cybertron" that we didn't want you to miss, so get comfy because this game has made quite the splash in the last few days!

• Recap: We already posted this, but if you haven't see the new gameplay trailer, hold on for the ride, and check it out at YouTube (don't miss the 720p resolution option)!

• In a great article from kotaku.com entitled "Transformers: War for Cybertron Preview: A World Without Michael Bay's Robots" we get some great screen caps, more info about how the Multi-player interaction will work, origin stories for Starscream & Jetfire, character special abilities, and more. "No humans. No Michael Bay. Two campaigns. Three-player online (only) drop-in/drop-out co-op Transformers with a link to the past and a Gears of War amount of gunfire. Happier?"

• Check out this short article from 3News in New Zealand that discusses the games various play options including multiplayer and a Create your own Transformer / head-to-head multiplayer mode "choosing among four distinct character classes, personalising its look and selecting from a huge variety of weapons, skills and abilities"!

• A new video Interview with Director of High Moon Studios, Matt Tieger, talking about the game from the development perspective.

• Another article from kotaku.com where Matt Tieger lets us know that we won't be seeing playable combiners in this installment. "Consider the gamer who would play as the Mixmaster or Scrapper, the Constructicons who formed Devastator's legs. Said Tieger: 'They guy who is the kneecap, what does he do?'" Good point.

• And last, but not lease, Kotaku.com wins the gold by showing off the very first look at the upcoming Nintendo DS version of "War for Cybertron" in their article "Transformers: War for Cybertron Preview: Grimlock goes Portable"

When it comes to the Transformers live-action films, one thing all fans seem to all agree on, is that we'd like more of a (robot) character (/personality) driven story. Apparently that's just what they have in mind; so says our good friend, Brian Goldner, Hasbro COO in a recent interview with MTV. Check it out and see for yourself!

Located in Chesterfield, IN, set to occur October 9, 2010, this new convention will feature attractions such as a dealers room, an art contest, a custom robot contest, a costume contest a "Who Am I" trivia contesting using G1 bio info, "I Got the Touch" karaoke, a Timed Combiner Contest with a KO Devistator and more.

80'sGeek from Seibertron.com gives new codes/decodings to see special pictures and video at the official War for Cybertron video game website.

"New 'transmission decoder' on the site. The concept is to decode transmissions with an inner and outer dial to gain access to videos and screen shots/concept art. You rotate the outer blue dial until you gain a blue circle, then rotate the inner yellow to focus the cube image until you get a yellow circle.

Following gives 100% total recovered data:

Default trailer transmission code (given when you hit ?): blue-351, yellow-327

Note: The art transmissions are brief (and I mean BRIEF- 2 seconds max) glimpses.

Unite For The Universe Optimus Prime and Megatron

Forum memeber PTaros has stumbled onto some interesting images:

"Jason Canty from 4chan found new pictures of Unite for The Universe Prime!"

I myself have found images of the Unite For The Universe Megatron figure on Amazon Japan.

Both figures are beautiful redecos of the Movie Voyager Optimus Prime figure and the ROTF Voyager Megatron figure.

Optimus comes in a color scheme similar to that of Buster Optimus Prime, and comes with new Jetfire parts to form his combined "Jetpower"/"Power Up" OP form, as well as a weapons platform and jet boosters for his vehicle mode.

Megatron comes in a much more movie-accurate color scheme of silvers and grays, unlike the greens and teals that the first version of this mold came in.

Both figures are currently TakaraTomy exclusives.
