It's been months in the making and it's finally live today! We wanted it live in time for the new waves of DOTM toys (due 5/16), already starting to be found! Everything is still there from our original reviews &amp; sightings sections, but with even more exciting new features (and there's more to come):<br /><br />New features:<br /><br />- At-a-glance graphs of sighting frequency over time for each item (sparklines).<br />- Similar "sparkline" graphs for review ratings (1-10).<br />- Moderation can now be done by anyone. (Sort of like Wikipedia - you don't have to wait for a moderator.)<br />- Now you can make reviews or sightings on *anything in the universe*.<br /><br />That last one not only makes things easier for admins (You don't have to wait for an administrator to put up a new toy before you can sight it.), but it also opens a new world for reviews: What else might we make reviews (or sightings) for? New (or old) Transformers comics? TF Prime episodes? Convention exclusives? Japan or Europe-only products? The sky is the limit. (Actually, why stop there?)<br /><br />And there's more to come!<br /><br />The next feature we're planning on making is a comment system. Sometimes reviews can get cluttered with reviews that are really responses to other reviews. This would allow us to comment right on people's reviews without adding clutter.<br /><br />What other new features would be high on your list to add next? Any comments or suggestions - we'd love to hear them. Let us know by replying on this news announcement.<br /><br />...<br /><br />One last update. We recently found (and fixed) a bug in our gallery system in our "year" pages, where the thumbnail image links weren't expanding into full-sized images. If you've encountered this bug recently, it's fixed now. ACToys.net has fully body images of Shockwave in both his Robot Mode and his Altmode, which appears to be some kind of decked-out Cybertronian tank.</div> <div><br /></div> <div> <div>------------------------</div> <div><br /></div> <div> <div><em>Head over to the forum to check this out.</em></div> <div><em><br /></em></div> <div><em><a href="http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2516/" target="_self">Remember</a>, the time to&nbsp;<a href="http://forum.unicron.com/ucp.php?mode=register&amp;sid=7c6dbf4becd85603ae6b55eaf67a47db" target="_self">join the forum</a>&nbsp;is now.</em></div> </div> </div> <p> <a href='http://forum.unicron.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=699'>(comments in forum)</a> </p> Grapple vs. Grappel - Comparison Images http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2520 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2520/ Sabrblade Sun, 23 Jan 2011 18:46:33 CST Still on the fence about which version of Grapple you'd like to purchase? Along with this forum upgrade, we wanted to give you all a heads up that soon we will be making an upgrade to our news system which will be bringing some significant changes to both how news posts are handled as well as how comments are made. This next Unicron.com upgrade will primarily entail more fully integrating the <a href="http://forum.unicron.com/">Unicron.com Forum</a> into the main website&rsquo;s structure. Specifically, the news items which display on the main page will soon be handled directly in the forum. In other words, we will be retiring our old news engine in order to more fully integrate our forum community into the site as a whole.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>This means that our old comment system currently seen under most news posts (which we have been slowly phasing out) will no longer exist, as clicking into each news item will bring you directly into the forum thread dedicated to that news item. So, if you already have a user account with our forum, then you&rsquo;re set to go. If not, we truly hope you will join the forum and continue to contribute to our community in providing your news post-related thoughts, discussions, comments, questions, and wise cracks!</div> <div><br /></div> <div>Signing up for an account is a simple, quick, and totally free process that requires nothing more than a minute of your time. There is no charge; no catches; no strings attached of any kind; we don't collect your personal information, we don't share it, we don't even need it! We whole-heartedly welcome you into the forum with no strings attached in hopes that we can grow further into a, bigger, better, and stronger community than ever.</div> <div><br /></div> <div>We at Unicron.com have been very appreciative of the members of our community here. While we continue to work hard to make our site the best it can be for your use, it is your involvement, contribution, emails, comments, and more that has inspired us to do so. Take care, and we'll <a href="http://forum.unicron.com/">see you in the forum</a>!</div> <div><br /></div> <div>-Unicron.com</div> <p> <a href='/news_item/2516/'>(23 comments)</a> </p> Generations Thundercracker images http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2515 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2515/ Sabrblade Thu, 20 Jan 2011 21:13:51 CST <a href="http://bbs.actoys.net/read.php?tid-573540.html" target="_self">ACToys.net</a> has clear close up images of the upcoming Generations Thundercracker figure. A redeco of the Classics Starscream mold (for the <em>eigthteenth</em>&nbsp;time!), this figure sports a color scheme that is&nbsp;similar&nbsp;to that of both the BotCon 2007 Timelines Thundercracker and the Henkei! Henkei! Thundercracker figures, while still different enough to be its own figure. <p> <a href='/news_item/2515/'>(12 comments)</a> </p> 24 hour forum discussion: What's your #1 burning TF: Prime Question for Hasbro Studios? http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2514 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2514/ Obsidian Thu, 20 Jan 2011 15:12:35 CST We have been invited to a special Hasbro Q&amp;A Bonus round, this time with&nbsp;teams at The Hub and Hasbro Studios, to ask our ONE burning question relating to TF: Prime. So, what's your one burning question? We've got 24 hours to submit a question, so, "put your thinking cap on" and let the&nbsp;questions&nbsp;begin. <p> <a href='http://forum.unicron.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=571&p=3045#p3045'>(comments in forum)</a> </p> News to the third power - Masterpiece, DOTM, Reveal the Shield http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2513 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2513/ Sabrblade Thu, 20 Jan 2011 11:56:03 CST In an attempt to bring Unicron.com up to speed on the news, we present not one, not two, but three news stories regarding the latest Transformers franchises - Masterpiece, Dark&nbsp;of&nbsp;the Moon, and Reveal the Shield. <div><br /></div> <div>First, brand new images of Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy figure have appeared at <a href="http://the-sun.on.cc/cnt/lifestyle/20110120/00487_001.html" target="_self">ON.cc</a>. These images show some of the figure's design feature like his face-swapping gimmick, his new mold Matrix, and the method of changing him into his Rodimus Prime altmode. Not to mention the special collector's coin that comes with him as well.</div> <div><br /></div> <div>Second, <a href="http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=73396" target="_self">ComingSoon.net</a> have revealed a list of films whose trailers will be given TV spot airings during the Super Bowl. This list shows that the next trailer for the <em>Transformers: Dark of the Moon</em> movie (the teaser trailer, the last one was an "announcement&nbsp;trailer") will be shown during the game, rather than in a pre-game or post-game airing.</div> <div><br /></div> <div>Third, new images of the Reveal the Shield&nbsp;Demolition Rumble have shown up at <a href="http://bbs.actoys.net/read.php?tid-573188.html" target="_self">ACToys.net</a>. In these images, we see both modes, a partial view of its transformation, and most&nbsp;notably&nbsp;of all, his PILE DRIVERS!</div> <p> <a href='/news_item/2513/'>(4 comments)</a> </p> Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime remold http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2512 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2512/ Sabrblade Thu, 20 Jan 2011 00:04:41 CST And the redecos with remolded heads continue! This time, it's Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime (G2 Laser Rod body) who's remolded head get revealed in his instructions. The image can be viewed over at <a href="http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76195&amp;st=0&amp;p=1734947&amp;#entry1734947" target="_self">The Allspark Forums</a>, thanks to David "Walky" Willis of Shortpacked! and TFWiki.net. As to who Optimus is getting remolded into, well... <div><br /></div> <div>..It's really&nbsp;difficult&nbsp;to tell! All&nbsp;kinds&nbsp;of crazy guesses are popping up and about, including, but not limited to, Motormaster (it looks <em>kinda</em>&nbsp;like his G1 toy's head), Ultra Magnus, RiD Scourge, Nemesis Prime, Sentinel Zeta Prime, Toxitron, Optimus Primal, Ginrai, Longrack, &nbsp;Tigerhawk, Micromaster Overload... What? I said "crazy". XD</div> <p> <a href='/news_item/2512/'>(7 comments)</a> </p> DOTM Starscream and SUV/"Dread" Robot Modes http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2511 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2511/ Sabrblade Wed, 19 Jan 2011 10:11:28 CST More and more images of upcoming Dark of the Moon toys just keep pouring out into the Internet. This time, eBay Australia has auctions showing the Robot Modes of the&nbsp;previously&nbsp;seen <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Transformers-Dark-Moon-Deluxe-Starsc%20ream-/280618391148?pt=AU_Action_Figures&amp;cam+pid=5336425390&amp;hash=item415628d66c" target="_self">Starscream</a> and <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Transformers-Dark-Moon-Deluxe-Dreads%20-/280618392142?pt=AU_Action_Figures&amp;cam+pid=5336425390&amp;hash=item415628da4e#ht_791wt_1139" target="_self">Decepticon SUV/"Dread"</a> figures. However, it would appear that Starscream is horribly mistransformed, and the Dread figure (which actually <em>does</em>&nbsp;sport dreadlocks!) might be incorrectly converted too. <div><br /></div> <p> <a href='/news_item/2511/'>(6 comments)</a> </p> More Dark of the Moon toys http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2510 http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2510/ Sabrblade Tue, 18 Jan 2011 13:54:07 CST Following up from the last <a href="http://www.unicron.com/news_item/2506/" target="_self">rundown</a> of DOTM toys comes a few more to look at. <div><br /></div> <div>First a new mold of Skids has shown up on <a href="http://bbs.actoys.net/read.php?tid-572076.html" target="_self">ACToys.net</a>. He sports his new movie color scheme, a rear spoiler, and a Robot Mode that's noticeably a new mold.</div> <div><br /></div> <div>Second, <a href="http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w58922295" target="_self">Yahoo! Japan</a> has an auction of what appears to be a redecoed Mechtech version of Deluxe Jolt. Despite&nbsp;previous&nbsp;word that he may not be showing up in the film itself, there can still be new toys of him sold in stores.</div> <div><br /></div> <div>Third, another <a href="http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g99619353" target="_self">auction</a> has an in-package image of Voyager Optimus Prime. We see both the front and back of the box, showing the starry design and the Mechtech gimmick's function of being large transformable weapons.</div> <p> <a href='/news_item/2510/'>(4 comments)</a> </p>
