Boo Imports!

Posted by:

Hey everybody!  Okay, so if you're like me, you're poor and lazy.  That means trying to find imports is out of the question because they typically cost money you've never had or you can't find a place that imports them.  I've had such problems with Transformers: Robots in Disguise.

Some of you may recall RiD played about a thousand years ago on the Fox Kids Network (now the 4Kids Network... I think), which now all shows that were once on Fox Kids are owned by Disney.  Disney has yet to release the shows to DVD, so RiD, Power Rangers, Digimon, you name it, if it was on Fox Kids, Disney pretty much owns it and is sitting on it.

Now RiD has been released over seas, but as we've said before, we're lazy and poor, so what do we do?  Well some people may resort to downloading the series off of the Internet. *Gasp*

This website has all of the RiD episodes available for download.  The last episode, however, is actually in Japanese, but it is there and you can watch the whole series in its entirety.  Now keep in mind, downloading is illegal and bad and blah, blah, blah, we all know the laws.  That being said, if you chose to download the episodes, that is at your own will, we at Unicron.com are just letting you guys know it's out there.

So that being said, happy viewing everybody who uses it, and to everybody else, maybe Disney will get the hint that people would like the shows of their childhoods to be released one day.  But in the mean time, all we can do is wait.

"Dear Disney,
Give us back RID! Also, quit it with the direct-to-video/DVD sequels, they're terrible!"

Now, who else agrees?

For me, Disney owning RiD and not releasing it isn't the worst thing. THIS is the worst thing:

Many millions of years ago, on the planet Earth, life existed, the same life as we know today. Intelligent humans that could... ok skip to 2001.

Back when Fox Kids was on, Beast Machines had ended. Digimon season 2 ended. Power Rangers was in the middle of their Time Force series. Action Man's first season just ended. A commercial for several new series and new episodes had been shown, advertising RiD, Digimon season 3, Action Man season 2, Galidor, the Ripping Friends, and other shows. I was so excited about this I could've died of happiness.

HOWEVER, a little something called The WB got in the way. Previously, I had two Fox stations, one for Fox Kids and sitcoms, the other for news and sports. The WB had then acquired of the Fox station that showed Fox Kids, but Fox Kids programming was still allowed to play on that station.

UNTIL, one week before the new Fox Kids shows aired, The WB announced that "The WB will no longer be showing Fox Kids programming on this station, we will continue to play Kids WB programs on this station. If you have any questions, please call this number." I was devastated. I called the number and E-mailed Fox Kids, but no response.

But it was not the end of Fox Kids for me. That following weekend, I went on vacation and was able to see the first episode of RiD and was very impressed. That same weekend I bought the Predacon three-pack. Months later I was on vacation again and saw three more episodes, as well as the new Fox Kids shows. So it was only on vacations that I saw RiD.

It wasn't until 2003 that Fox Kids came back on a different station, one that showed syndicated programs. But sadly, RiD was nearly at its end and went off the air shortly after.

So basically, I missed most of the whole series. I think saw a total of ten episodes, and very few of then were consecutive episodes. Which is why I REALLY want to see these episodes.

I meant 2002, not 2003.

For some reason the EDIT button is not on my upper two comments and this is the computer that I posted those two on.

Thanks, guys. I actually owe some thanks to the Youtube user Angel7410. I sent Angel a message a long time ago because that user had posted the RiD episodes on youtube. Interestingly enough that account is now suspended, but hey, got to give credit where credit is due.

Sabrblade if your on a computer that changes Ip addresses, For example switching from a wireless connection to a hard line. that may be your problem.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-12-09 20:43:22
It doesn't change IP addresses, it was just a weird thing that happened. Besides, right now I'm on a different computer so I can't change them anyway (I comment on this site from about four different computers).

Dude, so far the Voltron movie is still in the rumor stage. Nothing has really been seen about it. If you want, you could show us the picture's address and show it to us.

Back on topic, if the final RiD episode on that site isn't in English, is there a way to see the dubbed version?
TriPredRavage said,  - 2007-12-10 08:31:10
I haven't been able to find the non-Japanese version of the last episode. Sorry, it's the best we've got.

The laws need a major overhaul. It should only be illegal to download something that is commercially avaliable and in which case your viewing of said media would otherwise generate income for the person/company that owns it.

That being said, Disney isn't going to sue anyone over downloading this. They don't own this. They own a dubbed, slightly edited version. This is in no way the show that Disney owns. Believe it or not the law will distinguish between Disney's copy of the show and the raw Japanese one.
