S.U.V. Society of Ultimate Villany, Toy Sightings

Posted by:
Perceptor at 2008-06-07 10:12 am

We may have chatted about this before (sorry I've lost track!) but since it made its U.S. television debut, I thought I'd start up the discussion of the latest TFA episode: S.U.V.  In case you missed the introduction of this fan favorite Decepticon, it airs again tomorrow on CartoonNetwork or you can track it down on YouTube here and here.  What did you think?

Oh yeah!  TFA toys sightings have finally started pouring in!  Don't forget to let us know when you find them too!  Happy hunting!

Swindle redeemed this episode for me. The human villans, while I see the point in having them, were really just annoying.

I never get tired of Prof. Princess & her satire (mockery) of lame girl 'toons.

Foresooth! Angry Archer is cool just cuz he's named after the TF designer.

Slo-mo and Nanosec I could live without, but they actually don't bug me too much. The fact that SM's weapon is an allspark fragment, makes her "power" legit...

But Swindle? Yeah, he totally RULES! Love the way he's portrayed. Hope he comes back early and often in TFA season 3.

Those TFA toy sightings you're referring to are likely the sightings I just found. As I previous wrote:

"This morning I strolled into my local Wal-Mart Supercenter hoping to browse the Movie figs. But what I found in addition was a truck load of Animated figs! I couldn't believe it! They had tons of all six Deluxes of Waves 1 and 2, lots of "The Battle Begins" sets, but only three Voyagers (all of which from WAVE 3): Grimlock and Lugnut x2. I didn't get any of them yet, but I will!"

Also, did anyone catch Swindle's mentioning of the Vok and Nexus Zero? Plus, doesn't Swindle's design bear a bit of resemblance to the generic "Optimus Prime" and "Megatron" designs, in addition to his G1 self's design? His windowed chest and grilled abdomen look Prime-like, and his arm cannon and 'Con-themed middle-torso look Megatron-like to me.

Autobutt said,  - 2008-06-07 12:14:36
nothing in chicago... as a matter of fact theres barely even movie figs here! its horrible!!!
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-07 12:26:34
Really, my stores still have movie figs from BEFORE the AllSpark Power waves, as well as AP and Premiums. It's like they can't sell these anymore because they made too many (and brought them all here, cuz nobody wants them).

"Foresooth! Angry Archer is cool just cuz he's named after the TF designer."

Not to mention he bears a striking resemblance to said designer. :-)

One of the best.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-07 15:24:33
I'll get them, don't worry. There were hundreds of Voyagers and tons of "Battle Begins" sets. I'll get them.

My only pet peeve about this line would be if Takara makes more show-accurate figures when they get TF:A. Like, Screamer could be in the right colors if they get him.

FRED WILLARD is one of the funniest actors in American film and TV. Obviously things are looking up for Transformers Animated if they know voice talent (and Transformers) well enough to have cast Weird Al as Wreck-Gar the Garbage Truck and now Fred Willard as Swindle. A "swindler" type character i.e. used car salesman, etc. is one of Willard's great specialties. I am so impressed and excited to see comic icons on my favorite cartoon-based-on-a-toy. This new show will transcend the old ones. Hopefully they'll reign in the "silly heads" on some of the characters and do the show for a few years. Time enough for combiners (imagine Willard's Swindle creating the Combaticons to empower himself, only to be overtaken by Onslaught and ultimately Bruticus!) and Sixshot with an all new mold that will blow us all away.

got them all except grimlock :)
Jumpercliff said,  - 2008-06-07 17:58:31
Swindle=great! Slo-mo wasn't so bad either, since she talked like Edward G. Robinson.
mkbauch said,  - 2008-06-07 18:04:49
Yeah, I noticed that, Jumpercliff. She had this whole Edward G. Robinson/Mae West thing going for her where she was trying to be a gangster mod from the 1940's. It got old really quickly for me.

Sabr are you messed up in the head? You shoulda got some voyagers like my kick@$$ Megatron (even if I cheated and had my TF contact at my local TRU call up his hasbro contact to get me him months ahead of time.) i'm going there again tomorrow to see whats he's been holding in the back for me. Now u go back Wal-mart and and buy all the TF:A toys you need to add to your collection right now. Or so help me god i'll... i'll...

>>This new show will transcend the old ones.

That's a very interesting statement and one that definitely deserves further attention. Time for that in a later discussion thread. I agree that it definitely has the potential to do that. To do so, in my opinion, it has to last at least a couple seasons. If this series can last through the making of TF live movies 2 and 3 (and possibly beyond) it certainly has the potential to become at least as popular as G1 and Beast Wars, if not more.

Not sure what you are asking me to respond to, but sounds cool to me! :)

I found it amusing that Swindle is about to expierence what he did the the other combaticons in G1, dismantled and sold!

GREAT! The Vok got some reference in that episode! :D Awesomes!

Thanks for pointing out Fred Willard, Budgrimlock. He's one of those actors I didn't know by name, but after a quick IMDB search, I'm thinking I must've seen him in ~100+ movies/tv shows... He is terrific and does an awesome job as Swindle, "Are you loving this???" Brilliant!

I *REALLY* love TFA's whole 'special guest' voice actor deal, chance to see great secondary characters like Wreck-Gar and Swindle. It really shows how much effort is being put into this show w/ how perfectly they are picking the parts of various characters. Absolutely love it, and hope it continues for many years to come. They're doing a great job.

Don't forget Lance Henriksen as Lockdown.
Bumblebee said,  - 2008-06-09 20:23:22
Shit, my mother won't let me buy the animated figures. She says they're for babies, any help?
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-10 08:38:09
I know just how ya feel. My parents feel the same way. Which is why I obtain my figs by riding my bike to the store and purchasing them alone when my parents aren't home. Or I ride to the store on my way home from school and put them in my backpack and take them out and open them when I'm alone. Yes, I'll admit it's kinda sneaky, but what other way is there?
Starscream said,  - 2008-06-10 13:50:51
*Please note that I am typing as myself, not the character I normaly portray* I agree with Lawson. There should have been more of Swindle and less of the human villians. However, the episode still had a great flow to it. And now that my favorite Decpticon has been returned to the show,I can start my portrayal of him again and stop doing Blitzwing. When I started as Blizwing,I had decided to play along with the flow of the show,so I didn't type as Starscream until my next chance on the website (Which will be my next post). No sightings of TF Animated figures in North Dakota so far. However,my town is getting a new Super Wal-mart,so maybe that will yield some news.
Bumblebee said,  - 2008-06-10 19:22:33
Thanks for trying to help, but I'm only aloud to bring a certain amount of money to school. My parents are almost always at home.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-10 19:56:09
How old are you or what grade are you in, Bumblebee?
Bumblebee said,  - 2008-06-11 19:55:29
Thats not exactly your business.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-13 14:24:12
I was only asking cuz you make it sound like you're a quite younger than me, which would explain why you can only tkae a certain amount of money to school.
Starscream said,  - 2008-06-16 08:40:01
Let's not pry Sabrblade. Bumblebee probably can't give away information like that without permission.
Bumblebee said,  - 2008-06-17 18:04:15
I tried something like that before and my parents found out.
