Animated cancellations here and there

Two sad pieces of information have popped up ther internet. Both of them regard the cancellation of something related to Transformers Animated.

First, BBTS has sent out an email to its customers to make known that Hasbro has cancelled the releases of the Wave 7 Voyagers Golfire Grimlock and Hydrodive Bumblebee. Both products' listsiing have been removed from the site and those who preordered them would have received a message via email that  would be similar to the following:

"BBTS - Transformers Animated Voyager Golfire Grimlock CancelledTuesday, February 24, 2009. Hasbro has just informed us that this item has been cancelled, and as a result they will not be able to fill our orders. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have cancelled all preorders and removed the item from our site.

Thanks
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com"

Another sad piece of info is a rumor fromTFArchive about the possible early cancellation of the Tranformers Animated toyline itself. We knew that, since the show would be ending, the toyline would come to an ending too, but there's something confusing about this:

"Both the local Targets and local Wal*Marts (Colorado Springs, CO) have marked the Transformers: Animated line as canceled and won't be stocking up any new figures for it past what has already shipped. That means that the March/April waves won't be showing up at all in these stores.

Oddly, Universe seems to be continuing even as the seasonal reset makes a ton of room for the Revenge figures beginning to surface.

Unfortunately, the Hasbro rep checking the Wal*Mart aisles didn't really know what to make of the changes, as she knew about upcoming figures, but also confirmed that retailers were 'dumping' the Animated line."

Now while this does look convincing, as its sources are the stores themselves, we did hear from Hasbro about the upcoming Arcee and Electrostatic Soundwave figures. So, if there is some thruth to this rumor, it problaby means that the line will end not long after those two get released, as they could be the last figures of the Animated line.

Plus, according to TFW2005, the release date for the two Target exclusives Sunstorm Vs. Ratchet and Shockwave Vs. Bumblebee will be March 22nd. So, we may get them before the line goes dead as well.

im sorry but im kind of glad it went that way because the show sucked along with the figures , like i said in the past in my review on supreme class prime in the unicron.com review section! the show was going no where fast ,and i think hasbro just did that because the movie is comming up . so it would be a waste of time to buy animated .

Transformers: Animated will still be cool when the Michael Bay movies look like G1 season 3. I like it all, but I really think Animated is special. The TV show was never released on Network TV in the afternoons. I NEVER EVER watched the original show in the mornings. I hope Animated gets finished properly and is followed by something that builds on it. The new Movie toys look like everything else Robot on the toy aisle and will disappoint most of the kids who buy them. I don't see how any kid could have been disappointed with Animated figures. They pose the best, look the best, and look exactly like the show...

Okay Animated fans, let's buy up all the clearance merchandise ultra cheap and start a cult following. Those toys are BEAUTIFUL when painted by hand...

I agree 100%. I dont' want to sound mellow dramatic here, but this truly saddens my heart.

Further it angers me. Transformers Animated is *the* show we fans have been waiting for, for many years. Really, since the day that G1 went off the air in 1986. This negativity diminishes my enthusiasm for Revenge of the Fallen. What a crying shame. When this could be seen as the golden age of Transformers, with the best cartoons and movie and toys, all of this... ugh.

Transformers are forever, they will return in one form or another. I was looking forward to a Animated Omega Supreme toy, Oh well. I hope the next cartoon is more G1, Beast Wars like then anything kiddie. Maybe on par with Clone Wars. If they can do it with Star Wars, they should be able to with Transformers.

God, I always liked the toys but it seems like they have to end at one point. I at least hope the next series will light my darkest hour.

Three seems to be the limit for everything. 3 seasons of G1 not including Rebirth. 3 seasons of Beast Wars. 3 seasons of the Unicron Trilogy (stretching, yes). 3 seasons of Animated and there's gonna be 3 movies.

Don't forget three episodes of The Rebirth, three full japanese G1 series (HM, MF, V), three japanese series that came out during Beast Wars and Beast Machines (Beast Wars II, BW Neo, Car Robots), and... I sure there's more, but I can't think of any.
