Another BotCon exclusive -- the missing piece from 2006

Back in 2006, BotCon released a group of exclusive figures that, like all their other exclusives, were redecos and remolds of figures from previous Transformers toylines. However, what made these figures special was that these were representations of almost all of the main characters from the first season of Beast Wars Transformers prior to their departure from Cybertron and their crash-landing on Earth. Meaning, that these figures showed how they looked on Cybertron before they obtained their organic Beast Modes. There was even an exclusive comic story to go along with these new figures, called "Dawn of Future's Past".

However, toward the end of the comic's last pages, there was one character who showed up at the story's end that looked as though he would be getting a toy form as well. But sadly, he was not given a toy of any kind... until 2008 in the form of a Legends class figure. And now he will be getting the form of a full sized figure, thanks to BotCon!

His name... is Razorclaw!

Yes, Razorclaw will be another BotCon 2009 exclusive in the form of a redeco of the Voyager Cybertron Leobreaker mold. But this time, he'll be also given a newly-remolded headsculpt! He will even have the new Predacon symbol on his arms!

TFW2005 has an extensive gallery of images of this figure in both forms. You may view this awesome-looking figure here.

Its too bad there's no Megatron remold to go with him.

There was BW Megs in 2006. Besides, G1 Megs was LONG dead at that point. Remember, this was the Beast Era: 300 years post G1.

Oh no not that, I meant there should be some sort of remold of Cybertron Megs to go with him.
On the subject of 2006 Megs, do you think He would have been better as CD Scattershot?

First, that wouldn't make sense for any Megatron toy (even if it wasn't Megatron in character) to go with him because that Leobreaker toy would make Razorclaw the add-on when it should be others that add-on to him. Not to mention that, since both Megatrons were dead, he would be the one to take up leadership of the Preds.

Second, no way. The Red Alert one was good. Besides that figure doesn't represent his actual body. It's transformable body armor he wears so that a toy could've been made for him since his real body doesn't resemble any toy ever made. So, he's basically like a Mega Pretender with his real head exposed (in fiction, that is, the actual toy doesn't split into armor pieces).

I so want this. Can you buy the souvinier figures seperately at the convention?

I think what Black SS was saying is that he wishes there was a Megatron mold (perhaps of another character) so that Razorclaw could combine with that character. Keeping the combining gimick alive. He doesn't have to be Megatron, make him another Decepticon leader or something.

In recent years, the souviniers were over produced and under purchased so Botcon gave the oppertunity for others afterwards to buy extra sets. But only those who had Primus packages.

I know what he meant, but the way the Leobreaker mold combines with the Megatron mold makes it so the Megatron mold is the main bot with the Leobreaker mold acting as an add-on to it.

This doesn't work out this time becasue the character is Razorclasw, who shouldn't be an add-on to anyone else, as he should be the main bot with add-ons connecting to HIM.

I also mentioned both Megatrons being dead as, if there were to be a rerelease of the Megatron mold to go with Razorclaw, there would still be a possibility of it being a Megatron.

So, whether it's Megatron or not, Razorclaw shouldn't link with the Cyb. Megatron mold as that would make him be the power-up to his partner, instead of the other way around where his partner is HIS power-up.

Scrapper was the leader of the constructicons but he was made the left leg, along with Goryu of the Dinoforce in the Dinoking combiner. If one were to make the set a gestault, then it would work out fictionwise.

Yes, but those two aren't like Razorclaw. He was always the torso. Why would he be reduced to a limb if he wasn't one before?

Besides, awhile back, while fiddling with my Leobreaker figure, I figured out a way that it could be used as a torso for a new Predaking-like combiner. Start in Robot Mode with his upper arms pointing straight down. Detach his lower arms from his elbows and set them aside. Fold his elbows sideways out 90 degrees all the way. Rotate his upper arms up 180 degrees. Fold his feet and heels upward so they rest alongside his lower legs. Finally, fold his his Robot head down into his beast head and voila! He's ready for some new limbs, wings and a new head. As for the detatched arms, use the Cyber Key to fold out his large claws and these would attach to his new arms via the wrists as "Marvel Wolverine-esque" arm claws.
