Revenge, Box Office Results

In just its first 5 days, Revenge of the Fallen worldwide box office totals have already eclipsed $387 Million!  From Box Office Mojo:

Revenge of the Fallen logged the biggest June opening weekend ever as well as the highest-grossing non-holiday, non-Friday opening weekend, and it ranked seventh overall. With $201.2 million since its Wednesday debut, the picture scored the second-largest five-day start of all time behind The Dark Knight's $203.8 million. The first Transformers' opening weekend came in at $70.5 million, and it didn't cross $200 million until its 12th day. What's more,Revenge had the biggest IMAX weekend ever: included in its grosses was $11.7 million at 169 IMAX locations...

Great film for what it was. I saw it twice. once in a regular theatre and once in IMAX.....

Money well spent. Loved every minute of it.

I hope that the third film will be the last one. I can't see the film series continuing for far more than that, becuase after this, the status quo as been reset. Autobots and Decepticons and that's it. Realisticly, if the film series goes much longer, we'll be getting things like the shows. As of now, Sam has been drafted into the war each time against his will, eventually it would become monotonous and get to be like the shows. I think the third film should end the series and then we move onto the next thing; the next continuity.

@TPR: Agreed, I think a Beast Wars movie would be nice. Just as long as they get David Kaye for Megatron! I wonder who they would hire to direct a Beast Wars movie. Hopefully not Micheal Bay. Don't get me wrong, I like Micheal's movies and the action that they provide but I also want my movie to have depth to it, rather than being a story mainly revolving around the human characters and their "love" life. I understand that the humans are the only real link that attracts most movie-goers but I think we could do without them for one movie.

As for a Beast Wars movie, could you imagine if it was CGI like Star Wars: Clone Wars is? If they made a movie off of it, a likely new series might shortly follow.

Or, if they wanted, they could use my ideas for Beast Wars movies: Shadow of Vengeance or Wrath of the Beast King. JK

Beast Wars Movie = Fund it!

I wonder if enough demands can make this movie happen.
I really, really would like a Beast Wars movie, and perhaps a Trilogy! It could work. With the way that the seasons are set up, they're just dying to be rewritten into a cinematic format! I mean they would have to condence the plot but still, it's a grade A formula just waiting to be unvieled. I could imagine having the original Beast Wars cast on the big screen with new age CGI and perhaps in 3D! I could go on and on but I'd rather take this discussion to the forums.

There already WAS a Beast Wars Movie. You know, just not in the US, lol. It even had Optimus Primal in it!

A Beast Wars movie could be cool. I more pro that than a new Beast Wars show. But I have to disagree with you on the 3D thing, LM. I have yet to see a movie in 3D where it's not just some big gimmick, or is actually done well. I'll stick to my flat screens, thank you!

No, there was a "Beast Wars Second" movie. and a "Beast Wars Metals" movie. "Beast Wars" hasn't had a movie.

The U.S. has had three Transformers movies:
* The Transformers: The Movie (1986)
* Transformers (2007)
* Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

While Japan has had five Transformers movies:

* The Transformers: The Movie (1989)
* Beast Wars Special Super Lifeform Transformers (1998)

Not exactly. When Transform and Roll Out aired, all Cartoon Network ever called it was, and I quote, "The Transformers Animated Special". "Special" does not always equal "movie", as evidenced by other programs.

As for TransWarped, yes it was called a "movie event" this time, but unlike T&RO, it was split into episode form for all reruns and actually counts as part of the 13-episode season. In fact, this "movie event" didn't even happen in places like Canada. While we got a special called "TransWarped", Canada got an episode called "TransWarped, Part I", which explains why they were always aboout two episodes behind us when season 3 was airing in new episodes.

Oh well, there being two episodes behind us makes up for their being an episode ahead of us throughout the majority of seasons 1 & 2... or at least season 2... I can't remember if they were ahead when season 1 was on...

Actually I'd like the movie series to go on for as long as possible, if only for the attention it draws to the franchise (and money.) I like seeing Transformers be this successful. It's about time.

As for Beast Wars, I'd say leave it alone. As it stands it was the best written show Transformers has ever had and likely ever will have. Let it remain that.

TFf2 was amazingly awsome but a beast wars one would kill the franchise for the normal people who watch it, who are actually the majority over the nerds who say it would be cool. and the dynamic of robot-human interaction is the whole premis of the movie!!!!
