There's all kinds of news on the highly anticipated Transformers videogame "War for Cybertron" that we didn't want you to miss, so get comfy because this game has made quite the splash in the last few days!

• Recap: We already posted this, but if you haven't see the new gameplay trailer, hold on for the ride, and check it out at YouTube (don't miss the 720p resolution option)!

• In a great article from kotaku.com entitled "Transformers: War for Cybertron Preview: A World Without Michael Bay's Robots" we get some great screen caps, more info about how the Multi-player interaction will work, origin stories for Starscream & Jetfire, character special abilities, and more. "No humans. No Michael Bay. Two campaigns. Three-player online (only) drop-in/drop-out co-op Transformers with a link to the past and a Gears of War amount of gunfire. Happier?"

• Check out this short article from 3News in New Zealand that discusses the games various play options including multiplayer and a Create your own Transformer / head-to-head multiplayer mode "choosing among four distinct character classes, personalising its look and selecting from a huge variety of weapons, skills and abilities"!

• A new video Interview with Director of High Moon Studios, Matt Tieger, talking about the game from the development perspective.

• Another article from kotaku.com where Matt Tieger lets us know that we won't be seeing playable combiners in this installment. "Consider the gamer who would play as the Mixmaster or Scrapper, the Constructicons who formed Devastator's legs. Said Tieger: 'They guy who is the kneecap, what does he do?'" Good point.

• And last, but not lease, Kotaku.com wins the gold by showing off the very first look at the upcoming Nintendo DS version of "War for Cybertron" in their article "Transformers: War for Cybertron Preview: Grimlock goes Portable"

Seen that trailer. Loved every moment of it.

Less Bay = More "Yay!"

Making your own TF sounds VERY appealing.

LOL at the combiner reasoning. But yeah, we don't need'em. This game's got enough flare to it.

Grimlock looks BEAST!!!

EDIT: After watching the video where Tieger talks about the game, I've got two things to comment about. One is that he said that Cybertron is a completely metal world. This is not entirely true. At least the G1 cartoon, the Beast Machines cartoon, and the Armada cartoon have all shown Cybertron's interior to be at least partly organic in some way. The second is that he says that the Autobot campaign will show Optimus Prime before he rose to power. Animated did a similar thing, so let's see how this game will pull it off.

I can officially say I've been hyped about this one from day one and it just keeps getting better sounding and looking.

I'm seriously wishing I had a current console to play this on...
I can agree that it might not be that great to have playable combiners. But it would be cool to have to fight combiners as bosses... how about a point where you have to hit Devestator in a certain spot to force him into his components, and while they take their time to get back together and prepare to combine again, you have to kill one of them before that?

>>Less Bay = More "Yay!"
I guess that means we'll be seeing fewer wrecking "balls"... and no, that's not meant in a bad way at all.

I wish I had the ps3 right now. I dont think my wii has those kind of grafics. The angles in the game are very unique. To be honest I dont really play video games, but this one has an actual history to it as far as TFs go I mean they already wrote a book about War For Cybertron that will be out soon. To me it almost feels like The War Within series is back. It would be nice to have had a combiner you could unlock when you passed certain level or some kind of code. Maybe have it where you can collect each individual character to build the combiner.
