Access Hollywood had an interview and "First Look, Michael Bay's Transformers" on prime time last night.  If, like us, you were unable to catch it live, you can see the clip on Access Hollywood online.  Thanks to Justin Campbell for the head up!

First of all, did everyone notice the cool new functionality that Brian (stampy) added? Now anyone we can discuss and add comments to each and every news item on the site. Sweet huh!?

Second, so did everyone catch the AH clip? All too short for my liking. But I did like the glimpse we got of transforming robots at the very end. Still looks pretty rough, but seems to be off to a good start. Is that Optimus Prime?

I sent the e-mail and my name is Justin not John. However, I did like how Bay said he wasn't trying to reinvent the transformers just make them into a movie.

Has anyone noticed that the direct link is broken?

I want to see more. By the way, how is he NOT reinventing Transformers? The 'trailer' kinda shows that he is, since I don't remember any storyline involving the Transformers and Mars. Was it a chance meeting of 2 'scouts', or is that where the Transformers are from now? If he didn't want to reinvent them, then Mars wouldn't be involved.

I've heard this Mars argument before, but whould this really bother the fandom??? I mean, think about how many times the Transformers have found themselves stranded on earth. Think about the millions of connections between cybertron and earth. Think about the G1 episodes where Megatron brought Cybertron into earth's orbit and then just easily blasted it back into place w/ a relatively small energon explosion. Sure we earthlings named the planet Mars, but what if the planet, having been decimated by eons of war found itself covered in red dust... Human civilization has only been around for a couple of measily couple of hundred years. What if it was explained that Mars, actually is Cybertron. Would that really bother everybody to think that Earth and Cybertron and Earth are in the same solar system?! :)

Perceptor thanks for the correction and on Transformers Armada Jetfire and Starscream did go to Mars to find a Minicon

If you think about it though, it is entirely possible that the Tranformers went to mars and ended up stranded there as they have so many times before. You think about it, Mars was once, supposedly, a flourishing planet. We also know that Cybertron has been in an energy crisis for eons, so it is entirely possible that the Transformers had gone there and sucked the planet dry of all its resources.
