Jason (14 Jul 2002) - Grinder is great in robot mode. Not a big fan of any of their non-robot modes but think about how cool it would be if your bike/mo-ped/jet-skateboard were TFs? As for the other two, their lack of any acceptible robot modes is made up for by Perceptor.
8
Perceptor (26 Jun 2002) - PERCEPTOR is highly detailed & well proportioned combiner. Grindor is the coolest of the 3 components; very solid in each mode. Ss has great vehicle mode & rather awkward bot. Hw is a distant 3rd as a decent lookin' bike, totally bizarre lookin' bot!

A little too fragile and dull, it only earned this 8 because it brings back slamdance and squakbox

Grindor=rules, Sureshock=ok, Highwire=wtf?, some new attempts into the TF universe, smallest combiner set ever rules! Highwire wins prize for having 2 heads visible in vehicle mode! Very neat, worth every penny

Best concept for minicon alt modes, a bike on the back of a car makes more sense than a 3-foot long plane. Sureshock is horrible 'cept for his face sculpt. Other 2 are pretty cool. Combined mode is sweet.

these minicons are ok.sureshock is the lamest minicon ever!!!It has no legs.grindor is faceless, and highwier is lugging around some giant head on his back!?the only reason i gave them a 2 and not a 1 is because percepter is cool.

I love these guys but Sureshock and Highwire's names just won't fit but Grinder fits great with a skateboard. Perceptor does not fit perfectly, so I would perfer the name Streetfighter instead.

Man! These three mini-con combiner team looks kind of stupid. I mean, a bike, a scooter, and a skatebord. The good thing about these three are the coloring...and the transformation is pretty cool...I guess.

Being a mountain biker myself, I find the mini-mtb to be cool even if real odd. Perceptor is a very cool combiner!!!

The powerlink makes up for the poor designs on highwire. What is up with him. He is nothing compared to the one on tv. The rest are cool. Perceptor is cool. The minicons look better as him. Other than that they are cool

I bought them because they can combine; that's it, and that's all.

These are really cool minicons except Highwire but they are really cool combined to Percepter.

wow.these mini-cons,or at least perceptor is cool.high wire the skateboard(who knows who is who)is the best.the other two though need work

How perceptive can he be with his head always coming off? Otherwise not bad. Sureshock is a cool scooter, and I like Grindor's body, Highwire is just pointless, he and the tv kids should be killed and eaten! EVILMUS PRIME

Great team. REMEMBER: Grindor is the skateboard and Sureshock is the orange scooter! Pay no attention to the TV show's name mistakes.

Eeeeeh.., Grindor's okay but the other two are a little goony lookin'. the Perceptor name is nice, but how is it applied? I perceive it's a little goony, Gestault gimmick notwithstanding.(Pun intended, keeps falling over.)

While I do like Grindor and Sureshock, Highwire is just bad! Hw doesn't powerlink well with any TF and his robot mode is... don't get me started! G and Ss save this packge though. Perceptor is also good, but I wish he looked more like G1 perceptor.

The vehicle modes are well-done but the robot modes look like sh...*must keep G rating...ER*...TERRIBLE! Perceptor is just O.K. but yet again High Wire has no eyes and neither does Grindor and Sureshock has NO legs. JUST TERRIBLE! -Scourgejet

perceptor is cool. alt mode is hard to accept. highwire is not a good transformer at all.

nice minicons i like the idea that they are a combiner team like the idea of using small items to transform into the skateboad is the best

18 Feb 2003
None of the robots (even Grindor) look like robots. They all look like Junkions. Perceptor look like it's been put together by 3 Junkions. And what happen to Sureshock's robot mode? Don't even get me started on Highwire.

These mini-cons are nice. My least favorite is Highwire. Then comes Sureshock. Then Grindor is my favorite. I love the way they combine into Perceptor. A great buy!

Perceptor is the only reason I give it a 6. All three robots fit nicely together and Per. has some flexebility. The idea of a skateboard transforming is rediculous. This group was made for "the kids" and not "the fans"

Good to keep hooked up as Perceptor. He doesn't have great articulation, but he does look cool. Out of the three, Grindor's the best.

All 3 robots are great. They look great in both modes (even Highwire). Perceptor is also great. The only flaw is that Perceptor isn't that posible.

Brilliant team, and combining adds to this. The best of the initial Minicon teams.

Highwire and Grindor have unconventional alt modes. Highwire and Sureshock's robot modes look a bit strange at first, but they start to grow on you. Perceptor is great. Definitely worth the money.

This is one of my personal Favs of the minicon Collection but Why an 8 Cause of Highwire He sux in bike and robot mode. But Precepter and Gindor make the Team one of my personal Favorites.

The street action team are some of the strangest tf figures I've seen. Grindor is pretty cool, but the other two are quite weak. The highlight of this team is Perceptor. Buy it for the combined mode.

poor articulatoin but i like sureshock. high wire is pathetic in both modes so i agree, high road..... Just go with air defense

Wow these must be the most pointless minicons to any Transformer(in the show) for a reason. They dont do anything great. The only reason they get a 4 is because they all combine which is kinda cool.

Chilly needs to be shot. These ARE toys, you arse. That's the point. Perceptor's been caught in combined mode and he leads the Minis into battle against the Land Military team. Fun!

Of all the armada toys these are the worst 3! In my opinion only the air defense team is cool because of the clear plastic. All the other figures are F*CKED UP and look like toys, not collectibles!!

Grindor looks cool but he can't move. Shureshock has the best veichle mode and the weahls make nice bussaws in robot mode. Highwire is pretty poseble and looks kinda cool. Perceptor is just plain awsome.

I'm forgiving. I like weird TFs, even liked Injector. But this? Hmm...it's 3 vehicles who combine. Neat. One turns into a decent bot. The other two stink on ice. For completists ONLY:I'm not, meaning I regret the purchase.

Individual mincon modes alright, highwire a little weird. Perceptor mode is great, although head should be able to look up without being hokey. Use High-wire and Sureshock as buzzsaw weapons, Grindor is a booster and can plug-in an additional minicon.

this is my second fav of the first minicon teams. and since they've alredy been reviewed 20 times I'll give facts lke did anyone know that Rid prime and magnus have minicon conecters. and the bright orange takes a bit of gettig use to

These guys are realy cute. Their vehicles are really funny (choices) and their robots are funky (looking). Grindor's cool, Highwire's... a bike... and Sureshock is funny. Perceptor is VERY nice though. Certainly worth getting.

Gridor is the best of the three. I like sureshock to. My least favorite is highwire. But you have to give em credit for making the bike the most posable. Gridor is good because both of his modes look great.

First of all, LAY OFF OF HIGHWIRE!!!!!! It's a bike! What more could they do?! And he's more poseble than any other Minicons! Now that I've calmed down, Grindor is great, and Sureshock is OK. What's not to love about a minicar-size combiner!

What we have here are 3 small lame toys that combine to form 1 small lame toy. 2 of these three have ridiculous robot modes, and none of them look cool when added to other vehicles in the line. The worst of the minicon packs IMO.

A gestalt that fits in your pocket! I love these guys, but they do win the award for "Strangest Vehicle Modes Ever." Be sure to add them to your collection.

grin best overall. great ideas for vehicle modes, but the robot modes lack because of it. cute gestalt. i'm sure he could beat up any those spychangers!

Very different set than air defense, but just as cool! These are the coolest vehicles ever! Skateboard, bike, and scooter! Perceptor is awesome, but he would be better if he had powerlinx to add more minicons. He should be able to hold starsaber, but no.

29 Jul 2002
Fun set, creating Perceptor is fun, and having Minicons lying around is helpful, but charging $7 for 3 uber small dudes just isn't that cool--still its worht getting for the perceptor mode ^^

If these Mini Cons didn't combine, they would have a lower score. I like arms that move forward! Grindor is still cool, that's my biggest gripe. Perceptor isn't that great but he looks good, towering over other Mini Cons. Hard to fit on bigger guys.

decent. these three shine in perceptor mode. great detail. poor articulation keeps this from greatness.

Pretty cool. Perceptor is really cool. Grindor is neat. Sureshock is pretty cool. High Wire is fairly good. recommended for kids and collectors.

These are some spiffy Transformers. From a design standpoint not even High-wire is worse off than the majority of the vehicon generals, and these are more fun. Seven dollars well spent.

21 Jul 2002
Wow! now we finaly know what a skateboard, mo-ped, and bicycle would look like combined. I hate it! And If it weren't so laughable I would'nt love it as I would any bad B sci-fi movie! I would take Perseptor to my leader any day. Just don't hurt me!
9

21 Jul 2002
I give them a 9 because of perceptor. Grindor has an ok robot mode and his alternate mode is interesting. Sureshock has a pretty good vehicle mode but his robot mode is odd. Highwire isnt good in either mode.

Second of the Minicon sets only to the Land Military team. Sure, they're a little bricky, but that's to be expected from any gestalt. That, and they're the smallest gestalt ever. What's not to love?
9
High Road
17 Jul 2002
Grindor is the best of the three. Sureshock is okay, he reminds me of Wheelie. But High Wire is unacceptable in robot mode, kind of okay in bycycle mode. Only reason to keep him around is to form Preceptor. Preceptor is kind of cool for a combinder.

17 Jul 2002
First off, Shureshock is actually pretty cool, but ONLY for comedy value. He's a trip to look at in bot mode. High Wire is adequate for a bike, and Grindor is remarkably cool. And Perceptor is a fun little gestalt. A decent buy.

12 Jul 2002
only worth it for grindor and perceptor. buyer beware.

12 Jul 2002
My favorite set, and interesting enough, my favorite gestalt! Each have their special points. Grindor is the best out of the. And Highwire is very nice. Sureshock kinda lacks...everything. Perceptor is fun, portable, easy to play with!

12 Jul 2002
The weakest of the first release minicons, Sureshock comes off as the winner in this set looking decent in both modes. Grindor would have won, except for his lack of ANY posibility. The Perceptor mode is ok. (I'm not even going to mention highwire.)
