Star (Convoy) Optimus Prime The 13th Original Prime - 2025 Titan #Transformers

I know this is, like - so yesterday’s news. But I just absolutely dig this toy and need to take an opportunity to share thoughts. (And it’s another toy I photographed earlier and never got around to posting.)

This is the Star Convoy figure we old school fans have been pining for! BIG, super pose-able, sturdy, and so undeniably true to his Japanese roots and esthetics. Complete with his ridiculous “base mode” and trailer which faithfully becomes the bottom 2/3 of the robot mode. His pointy, crazy angle helmet ‘antenna’ just absolutely complete the look of his undeniably bad@$$ robot mode!

That @hasbro and the design team canonized this character making it the original form of “THIRTEEN” is just a stroke of genius! Giving fans, new and old school a seriously cool reason to care about this classic design and homage the Japanese heritage of The Transformers.

My gripes here are minor:
He does look way out of scale as a toy, next to the other Primes. But if we need Micronus - smallest of the Primes (and we do!) why not have a much larger one?! Also, a my own nerdy retcon way of understanding, I like to think of his base mode like the x-men “Danger Room” where the original Primes practiced to prepare for their big battle with Unicron - as described in the Covenant of Primus.

My other minor gripe with this otherwise stellar toy is that the base mode and truck are woefully under-deco’ed. Thank goodness for Toyhax! Not gonna lie their sticker set upgrades are crazy expensive! But make the figure 💯 complete!

Of course as an old time fan/owner of the original figure, the base looks BLAH! without a bunch of colorful monitors and lights and technical readouts - all of which, easily, tho not inexpensively corrected.

Overall, this toy is pure joy and brilliant addition to my shelf of original Primes!

Did you know that the toys that would be sold in the U.S. as “Deluxe Insecticons” were originally marketed in Japan as “Armored Insect Corps Beetras (機甲虫隊ビートラス Kikō Chūtai Beetras)”

#StudioSeries 43 “KSI Agent” aka Nitro Zeus w/ premium deco #Transformers

Took this set of photos a few years ago and never got around to posting them. This mold and deco still look great to me! Transform is fun - a solid piece, exemplifying the quality of Studio Series. May it continue on for years to come! Although the am not a fan of this film, TF: The Last Knight - (to put it mildly 🫣🤦‍♂️🥴), I still enjoy the toys it inspired. Now how about an Onslaught?!

Sentinel Prime Artifact Pack Leak/Reveal

SP design based on his appearances in IDW comics, (Megatron Origins…). The figure is apparently a heavy retool of Tarn(?!). The figure comes with an ironically golden disc “conduit” that unites the artifacts of the Primes… !!!

KRANIX 2026 #Transformers Studio Series Deluxe

SPARE ME THIS MOCKERY OF JUSTICE!

Oh man, I dig this toy! It’s like Missing Link (is for my brother who absolutely adores the line) but made for me. Modern engineering, transform (perfect-) complexity and pose-ability. Then, there’s all those fluorescent pinks and angular multi-layered head sculpt and don’t get me started on the vehicle! … old school! straight out of Marvel comics Universe profile page. Pure 80’s nostalgia! 10/10 for me! Absolutely checks all the boxes. My #TransformersTheMovie display shelf is a happier for this addition!

Fun fact, according to the TFwiki,
“In a very early draft of The Transformers: The Movie, Lithone was a planet of living rock creatures, and Kranix was named Granix (from “granite”, you get it?). Although this was amended for later drafts, one or two instances of this original spelling made it through the spell-check, into a much later version of the script, puzzling fans for over a decade.”

Just got these two off-the-wall items in. Didn't even know they existed. Ride-ons are often a forgotten corner of the toy market, but over time, they become some of the rarest and hardest-to-hunt-down items. Their large size, almost exclusively outdoor life, and tendency to be tossed away after a few years cement their fate.

Famous examples include the many Power Wheels of the 1980s (each being a crown jewel in their respective collector communities), the infamous He-Man Bouncy Battle Cat, or the Transformers Jazz pedal car. Collectors will pay hundreds if not thousands for these items as each that passes, fewer become available for sale on the markets. Each discovery can spread across communities like a wildfire.

I myself have had my hand hovering over the "Buy it Now" button more than once on a few of these gems, only to hold off because of financial responsibilities (that's not to say I haven't made some hilariously irresponsible purchases in the past). One of the best days in my collecting career was hanging out with my friend Bill as he obtained his own Bouncy Battle Cat.

I got both of these through the Kohl's website and was surprised at how many licensed shirts and other items they had. I had a bunch of Kohl's Rewards built up due to a major buyout of their clearance section and decided to treat myself. These were some of the higher cost items; the Go-Kart was $99, while the motorcycle was $52. They are made by "Best Ride On Cars", a company I know nothing about, but can see following the age-old tradition of making a generic design and then replacing the decals as needed.

These will just sit around in their boxes as larger items like this I buy to just have in the collection and feel for they are better left as-is to keep them in mint condition (or as mint as the boxes allow, as they are cheap and arrived slightly damaged). Are these for everyone? Absolutely not. But for die-hards like me, I think you should nab them up. They won't be around forever, and down the road, these will be rare, at least I think they will.

LIEGE MAXIMO 2026 Age of the Primes Leader Class #Transformers @hasbro

According to the Covenant of Primus, Liege Maximo is the true villain of the Primes. His manipulations and deceit ultimately caused the fallout of the Primes following the defeat of Unicron. Whether he is in fact evil or simply acting out of boredom and circumstance depends on which author/story you’re drawing from.

This toy form is based heavily on his legendary first appearance at the conclusion of G2 Marvel Transformers comics by Simon Furman…. Transformation is fun, bot is pose-able and solid and creepy as he should be. That alien ship mode is brilliant- like a lesson in how to make a ship look evil!

I continue to enjoy the creativity, artistry and resources that have been brought into these legendary Original 13 Primes toys.
