What’s in the box?! #TRANSFORMERS Compendium - Digital and Hardcover complete G1 Marvel Comics. U.S. and U.K. - Skybound Entertainment kickstarter project which blew past every goal they could have imagined!

It’s insane to me to realize there are literally hundreds, probably thousands of pages of G1 original Transformers fiction that I’ve never read. It’s always been on my list to go out and collect the complete series. But TBH, it was always way more work than I was willing to embark upon, thankfully, skybound comics put together a complete series of every G1 comic ever made. Including (for this US based Transformers fan) every Marvel UK comic - so many of which I’ve never even seen.

I believe what you’re seeing here is the “Soundwave/ Decepticon package which I split with my brother. I have original comics for the entire US Marvel comics run. He wanted that in paper form. I wanted the entire Marvel UK run so we split the expense and delight in sharing!!!

Once in a grand while, I find something for my collection that is so off the wall, I have to have it. It might be something that makes me smile, laugh, or just seems different. During a recent trip to Sioux Falls, SD, I found such an item. Now, I love Transformers with every fiber of my being, but there is only so much I can keep up with. A lot of stuff passes me by throughout the year.

What you see is an item from "Pop Mart", the same company that brought the phenomenon Labubus to every corner of the Globe. This figure is based on a series that revolves around a single mascot, Space Molly. As the wife and I headed over to a shop in the Empire Mall to say "Hi." to a good friend, we passed by a generic toy shop littered with Pop Mart figures and other toys based in that genre. In the window, there she was, the Mega Space Molly 1000% Optimus Prime. She was massive, cute, ugly, and silly-looking all at once. I honestly thought it was a custom piece for a second until I noticed the quality was far too good to be a random bit made by a shop owner. After visiting my friend, the wife and I returned to the shop, and to her dread (my glee), up on a shelf was the box, and we both knew I'd be coming home with this hilarious collectible.

The shop owner, Sinan, was a friendly man and mentioned that he bought the toy just to display in his window. It was VERY expensive, and he figured, even if it never sold, he would enjoy her in the window. I agreed that it was a great eye-catching piece, and she did her job to bring me into the store. We talked for a while and settled on a price, something that was still very high, but the offer he made was beyond what any major shop would do, and I took him up on it. Thank you, sir, you are a good man, and I'll remember you for a long time.

This figure was released, from what I can tell, sometime around a year ago, and is a very limited piece; exact numbers don't seem to be known. They also released a 400% figure and some 3D artwork...all of it low runs and high priced. I don't normally go for figures or items like this, but there is something so unique and different about Molly. I love it, and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks about her.

She stands around 28" tall and has some heft to her. This is meant to be a top-shelf designer figure. She is clean, doesn't feel cheap, and is eye-catching. Her head rotates, her visor can move up and down, and her arms move up and down. She comes with a large blaster that an adult can easily hold. Her arms are on a tight ratchet and will stay in place with zero issue. The paint applications are crisp and bright. Look, this isn't for everyone. I'm confident that around 97% of the Transformers collecting community hates this gal.

Also, if you are wondering about the "moustache" that's actually her upper lip, she is done in a modern design where many characters tend to have this overstylized pout to them. Think of Cherry from the animated band, Studio Killers, and you'll have an idea of what I'm saying.

I think, deep down, this will eventually go down as one of the stranger items ever tied to Transformers. Will she hold her value down the road? Who knows? Sometimes collecting is about finding that item that makes you smile, and this figure has had me grinning ear to ear. I have decided to put her up in my display window in my store. I've already gone out and admired her next to my Dimetrodon, "Rocky", several times today.

I love finding something I never knew about, and maybe now more of you know than before? Collecting isn't always about money; it doesn't have to be serious, sometimes it's just random fun.

Absolutely love the old-school packag styling. Figure is very solid - borrowing engineering from The Deluxe Brawn toy, he comes complete with fusion cannon and new-sculpted head.

One of the only s3 minibars to be featured in the cartoon series, this toy does the character justice!

ASTROTRAIN #StudioSeries vs Siege Side-by-Side! #Transformers #TransformersTheMovie

I don’t understand the backlash on this toy. Maybe it’s because the Siege figure was so unquestionably a great toy. But put’m side-by-side - no question new SS version is more authentic, G1 /TFTM accurate.

SS is a little more finicky/ less solid to get all the parts and pieces where they belong in each mode. But this is to be expected given how well each of 3 distinct modes come together.

Fortunately, I have a great place to keep Siege AT, he belongs in with the rest of my Siege/WFC Trilogy shelf display! SS goes perfectly w/ w/ the rest of Generations G1 styled figure updates! 🤘

Sureshot w/ Targetmaster Spoilsport - Age of the Primes Deluxe

The series 1 Autobot Targetmasters do not get much love - not when it comes to figure updates, appearances in cartoon or comics. TBH, I don’t think they’re hardly anyone’s fan favorites . Seems like the toy engineers knew this and designed accordingly.

Look, it does everything I would want in a Sureshot figure. It’s an authentic homage to the G1 original: poseable, nice head sculpt, looks good in both modes - even comes with his perfect little Targetmaster buddy.

Unfortunately, it feels super hollow and somehow manages to feel cheap - which is crazy given the $30/Deluxe price I reluctantly paid. I dunno, maybe it’s just because I was never a huge fan of this character. I’m glad the toy exists. It’ll fill a gap in my Titans Return shelf. Beyond that, a little … meh.

Look, I know that the original G1 Predacons were BIG toys. But his primary antagonist was Sky Lynx. They’re robotic animals, that combine. Do we think combined form should be bigger than Devastator? Bigger than a Aerialbots - a combiner team of jets?!?!
