Frank Welker on Robot Chicken

On last night's Robot Chicken, there was another Transformers parody. This time it included Megatron with a very familiar voice. Watching the creditd verified my feeling that it was indeed Frank Welker voicing Megatron once again. Check it out here.

Remember Robot Chicken is on Adult Swim and they use subject people may find disturbing. I can not be held responsable for anything you are offended by.

Secondly: We seam to have a sort of epidemic here of people reporting comment that are innappropriate when infact they are appropriate. So please STOP! it is rude and creates more work for the moderators who have to deal with it which is very unfair to them, not to mention it is just all around annoying. Also comments turn into big discussions which bring us fans closer together so who ever it is please stop. Remember all you good honest fans out there by clicking on "help remove innappropriate comments" you can read those that have been reported by the little hudlem(s).

I saw it last night. I was flipping around and saw the info on Robot Chicken mentioned Soundwave so I decided to watch. I did think that bit was quite funny, and I also noticed the familiar voice. Also to remember is Frank Welker not only voices Megatron, but Soundwave as well.

Soundwave: No! You're killing Rumble, stop! Rumble, transform!

Lol... good stuff.

Frank still owns his role as Megatron, but he seems to have lost his grip on Soundwave. Still funny, though. Go Welker!

doesnt everyone wish that frank welker voiced megs in the movie . it realy kills it for me when i hear hugo weavings voice , but i guess i have to live with it . cool skit on robot chicken though. they should make a transformers robot chicken special like ther star wars one .

To be honest megatron i have no problem with Weaving doing the voice. After playing the game adaptation it was cool to hear Franks voice again, but i honestly have to agree that he didn't fit the new design. I know its blasphemy to say so but thats how i feel.

Are you kidding! If Frank Welker was still able to voice the part it would be one thing, but in the game and in this little part it sounds like Megatron has had one to many cigarettes. Is it sad, yes, but he would have been the totally wrong choice for the movie. Admire his work for what it was back in the day, but there is no way he could pull off Megatron. That being said, it would have been nice if Mr. Welker could have got in the movie some other way, say as a different character or cameo or at least something, anything but Megatron. He might of done a good Ironhide.

i understand your point ,maybe now that megatron is dead he will come back in the end of part 2 or begining of 3 with a new body thats regenerated him as galvatron with the piece of the allspark that prime holds ,and then possibly use mr.welkers voice as galvatron. any ideas of a new alt mode for galvatron in the next movie? maybe a realy cool lookin lamborghini .

i hope i spelled that right .

megatron, maybe Galvatron will be some super laser or just a cooler cybertron jet. Good ideas ya think?

Yes you did spell it right but who cares. Megatron would never come back as lamborghini. A Trasnformer that turns into a lamborghini is more of an Autobot choice and would be more for a Hot Rod/Hot Shot character or even (depending on the color) Sideswipe and Sunstreaker bros.

I think they're good ideas.

Thanks Jumpercliff. Where have you been Jumpercliff?

Gah! I had like one of the first comments on this page, nothing wrong with it, and it gets deleted. I hope whoever is reporting good comments for no reason is stopped, thanks for addressing it Blasten.

Anyway, I saw it as it aired, thought it was hilarious. Considering Frank voiced the parts in the Robot Chicken episode last night, all I have to say is, I agree he doesn't fit the new Megatron, but he still sounds awesome as Soundwave, and Soundwave will be in the next movie without a doubt, so Welker can voice him.

I've been at a film camp since last week working on a comedy. I've also been doing stop-motion work (mainly Transformers changing by themselves).

Seems like someone has something against me, or my comments, but I see I'm not the only one getting erased.

I never knew you could look at deleted comments like that, thanks for the heads up Blasten.

As for Galvatron, I imagine a triple changer, cannon turret to futuristic jet, and of course the cannon will be on his arm in robot mode. The big question is... will he vaporize Starscream just as quickly?

Galvatron already, and they barely did anything with Megatron in the first film??? They just need to bring back Megatron for the second. We havn't had enough time to get to know this Megatron. And for that reason, I really didn't care about the voice. Megatron just shows up at the end of the movie, and gets some lines, but not enough to really make me think it's so crutial that he has the right voice.
Let's get to know Megatron first, and THEN we'll think about Galvatron (hopefully with an all-new mode, not like in recent years where they recolor Megatron).

I don't get why people wanted Welker in #1. The voice didn't fit. If Frank Welker did the voice in #2, then at least the voice would fit. He was pretty badly damaged in #1, perhaps his voicebox was damaged too, perhaps as carma for what he did to Bumblebee. But in the first movie it simply wouldn't fit. He would have been hard to take seriously. If you insist on him being in #2, then it could work, but not just because it was the original voice. There's a reason why his voice would work. In #1 there is no reason why the voice would work, other than nostalgia.
