Cinefex reports on TF special effects, TF2 production to start Nov 2, TF2 can work around strike, G1 Sky Lynx, Cassette KOs

Cinefex has an article in their October issue regarding the special effects in Transformers.  You can look for Cinefex on magazine stands or order it online from their sight.

Slashfilm.com has an interview with Steven Spielberg.  The majority of the article is about Indiana Jones 4, but there is a small blurb about TF2.  Mr Spielberg says that the story for TF2 shoulb done very soon and production could possiblly start as early as November 2.

The LA Times also has an article regarding TF2.  This one is mostly about the writters (Kurtzman, Orci, & Kruger), and how their team up may work.  The last paragraph, however, offers hope that regardless of a strike the June 26 '09 release date should hold.  Michael Bay has been pulling together some pre-visualization robot designs so CGI work can continue even if any of the various guilds strike.

BigBadToyStore.com now has a pre-order up for the reissue of G1 Sky Lynx.  Sky Lynx is priced at $89.99 and should be in stock February of '08.

TFW2005.com is reporting that www.AgesThreeAndUp.com is going to release KOs of Overkill and Ramhorn.  They are reportedly also going to work on Slugfest and Steeljaw

Why does that series of knockoffs have to be so accurate? I mean, if the company who makes those has the molds, Hasbro could've reissued Sludge, Slag, Swoop, Mirage, Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and the cassettes! What's the deal?

Money, it's all about money Jumpercliff. Hasbro doesn't want to pay for reissuing highly popular die-cast figures that they don't make anymore. Die cast's expense is why it isn't used now.

There's another problem too. Quite possiblly somebody is spending the money to make a mold from a G1 toy(fairly common for KOs). To make a mold for a small run of KOs is relitvly cheap. To make a mold for oringal quailty and large volume is expensive. It may simply not make good business sense for H/T/T to make good molds that will not sell in big quanities and that have little value to collectors for repaint options.
