TFA: Nanosec Discussion

So the new episode of Animated aired today; what did you think?  Personally I loved the episode.  Destronium, huh?  Sure sounds an aweful lot like Destron to me!

Today's episode was pretty good. Nanosec was an interesting villian. It was creative to have his body age faster as he moved at high speeds more often. This really differentiates him from such well-known speedsters like the Flash, Superman, Sonic the Hedgehog, Blurr, and the like.

Also, it was cool that we finally get to see Bumblebee's rocket thrusters in the show. While they look very different in color compared to the toy, where they are blue instead of yellow and black, they are very powerful and dangerous to use indeed.

And it was nice to see Megatron again. Since he'll get his body fixed at the end of the first season, I was kinda hoping that Nanosec would've made his delivery on time, making one loss for the Autobots and Megatron's first success.

But one thing confuses me. Since Nanosec was in it for the money, and Megatron gave him Sumdac's SS#, I don't see why Nanosec didn't just use the SS# get more money instead of using it once and then following Megatron's order. Since he had the number, he could've ignored Megs and get rich fast. Why bother making the delivery when he just get all the money he wanted without having to bother with the package?

Also, did anyone catch the Cliffjumper and Bugbite references? when BB comes back into Earth's atmosphere, the heat is so great that he burns red, and look a lot like a Cliffjumper repaint. and when he's on the ground after having been slowed and sprayed by Ratchet and Prime, he's a light gray color, like Bugbite. Coincidence? Who knows.

I think it was a great episode. I just really want the decepticons to come. Also, anyone hear the release date for the Animated figures will be earlier than June? Possibly May or April.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-26 12:52:32
Oh, I hope the Animated figs won't be released that early! I just bought the Vector Sigma, Golden disks, and Unicron Stand sets and my wallet needs to refill before they're released.

I finally was able to catch an episode on time.

Anyway, I thought it was good. The aging as a result of high velocity movement reminded me of the movie Clockstoppers where such high speed movement at prolonged intervals has the same side effect.

I also liked the reference to destron, although I wonder if the red and gray thing was really a reference to Cliffjumper and Bugbite.

To Sabrblade: It seemed like Megs let him have some money beforehand but he was going to pay him more later, perhaps Megs was able to control how much money Nanosec withdrew from the ATM. He certainly was controlling other robots.

I'd like to see more Decepticons too, but I have to admit, they are doing pretty good with the human villain plots so far.

It was good, but It might be hard to have him come back. Are any other people on this site yugioh fans?
Jumpercliff said,  - 2008-01-26 17:32:53
Not a bad episode. Nanosec is kind of like the anti-Flash or anti-Quicksilver.
Menastator said,  - 2008-01-26 18:46:50
Nanosec was kinda weird. I expected him to be cooler.
Scorpomike said,  - 2008-01-26 18:51:13
I like the show and I liked this episode, but there's too many episodes focusing on human villans. They should've stuck withthe name "Heroes".
Michael010188 said,  - 2008-01-26 22:11:31
I agree with you Master Dex, Megatron would had the whole plan thought out as a "I'll pay you a little now, but the rest will come when the job is done." deal, but I also liked bumble bee's mouth cover. Though when will the Dinobots come back?
Mechaburst said,  - 2008-01-27 07:36:11

Better than Meltdown. I couldn't be bothered watching parts 2 and 3 on Youtube of that episode. Loved the Advent Children nod too.

I'm expecting/hoping we'll see a red Bumblebee repaint with new head called "Re-entry Bumblebee" and not "Cliffjumper".
Bruticus_42 said,  - 2008-01-27 08:45:55
Red Bumblebee yes, the Bugbite reference, a bit of a stretch, but yeah, I can see the Cliffjumper reference for sure!

A lot of suspenseful moments which lead to commercial in this one. Awesome!! I did like Bumblebees's faceplate. It's like a cross between G1 Bumblebee's toy, and Movie Bumblebee's faceplate. All in all, I give this two thumbs way up to Cybertron (again). Looking forward to the next one.

Bumblebee purposely turning nanosec into a half dead old guy is just COLD dude!
Slashwing said,  - 2008-01-28 09:34:58
I absolutely agree if it were not a kids show that would have ended really bad, something like "Bumblebee, death, guilt and remorse"
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-28 10:18:50
I wonder when megatron will get his first success, and will begin to be one his way to having his new body?
Rhinox said,  - 2008-01-28 10:54:47
@sabrblade,the last two episodes of this season.
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-28 12:52:30
hey when do I get MY new body?!?!?!?!?
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-28 15:54:35
NO, I don't mean when does he get his body fixed. I know THAT. What I don't know is when the construction of his new body begins, when he first get the materials he and Sumdac need for it.
Tyscream said,  - 2008-01-28 16:47:41
Well, I really think this episode was a good episode. Animated in general is good, so far. But they need less human villains and more Decepticons. Also, go to www.freewebs.com/starscreamrulez , it's a cool fan site and has good news and a blog about cool stuff Transformers 2! Go now!
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-28 18:38:19

The folowing wekend will finaly air episode 5 "Total Meltdown", and the weekend after that will be a rerun of episode 6 "Blast From the Past". Perceptor said,  - 2008-01-29 14:06:36
Although it wasn't my favorite, I really enjoyed Nanosec.

* I also really liked the take that he aged as he moved fast. Interesting

* I didn't notice the possible Cliffjumper/Bugbite references at first, but now that you mention it, it really stands out! I think you might be on to something there SB. Oh, and hey, thanks for your support (in picking up our accessory sets. Hope you enjoy'm! Everyone supporting our efforts by buying these products helps us not only with manufacturing costs of new projects, but also web hosting and other site administration costs, to keep unicron.com alive and going strong! Thanks.)

* Considering how much I thought I was going to hate super villians, I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying them so far. I think they're very well done. While I too am greatly looking forward to the Decepticons, I'm just enjoying the ride!
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-29 15:50:35
Your welcome, Perceptor. These'll be my first unicron.com item purchase. I just wish I had gotten the first two. The BM accessories looked cool and the Energy (Energon) Cubes got me really siked! I wish there was a way I could still get them. One BM accessory set and 50 E. Cubes. XD

I was half expecting a quick gold repaint job for BB. Goldbug anyone.
WiseGuy said,  - 2008-01-29 22:40:00
Doesn't mean there won't be recolors! I can see it now, "Meteor Fall to Earth Bumblebee" and "Lame Duck Grey Bumblebee" part of the 2009 TF: Animated Recolor extravaganza line!! :P
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-30 05:26:05
Well, so far the closest things to recolors that have been seen are the Deluxe Earth Mode Prime vs. the Deluxe Cyb. Mode Megs, both who have battle damage molded into them. Prime is an extensive remold of his first deluxe toy and Megs is a scaled-down version of his Voyager painted in silver instead of off-white.
Starscream said,  - 2008-01-30 16:48:25
WAIT! I don't have tv reception at the Decepticon outpost! So exept for the series premire I haven't seen much of the new series. I hit my head REALY hard after that blast from the Allspark so I'm having trouble with my memory banks right now!
