Also, we never got on track w/ a discussion of the Arcee Spotlight comic released this week.  While we're at it, sharing our opinions of the latest TFA, we're curious to hear your thoughts on Arcee as well.

I have not seen the new animated episode yet, but I can't wait. But I got spotlight Arcee the day after it was released. I read it, and loved it. Nice story line. It was very entertaining to read.

Blitzwing and Lugnut are awesome! Lugnut is like a dimwitted Demolishor on steroids with Tidal Wave's firepower. Blitzwing is just sickly awesome! I loved how his two personalities were arguing over his alt mode.

And now we know that the Allspark is still onboard their ship, cuz that's where they're headed.

But I always thought Lake Erie was bigger than that. From What I can tell, that lake is about twice the size as the lake behind my house, which is no way nearly big enough to be seen from a regularly sized U.S.A. map. Since Lake Erie is seen clearly on maps, shouldn't it be shown to be HUGELY wider than this lake we see in this episode?

Also, when Ratchet said that their mantenence ship used to be for military use, that reminded me of how the Axalon from Beast Wars was used for the opposite purpose: it was an exploration ship that was used as a battle crusier.

And Starscream lives! Yay!

I can't help but think that the Autobot ship is going to be a Guardian Robot or something.

I figured Starscream was hiding somewhere. Knowing Decepticons, they can't be trusted. They will pledge allegiance to Starscream long enough to get their bodies repaired. By the way Lugnut was acting, he's very loyal to Megatron and would never betray him. Lugnut has a cool alt mode. He is more powerful than Bulkhead. Their strengths are similar but it's clear that Lugnut has better firepower. If one or two Decepticons can cause that much Havoc for that many Autobots, what's going to happen when all the Decepticons get together? I've seen Starscream in trouble with Megatron in past series, but I think he's really in for it this time. The Autobots will have an edge when the ship is repaired. Until then, they're in big trouble. Why don't they try playing hockey with the Dinobots?

As far as the lake goes, c'mon, it's just a cartoon. It looked pretty big to me when they were under water.

did anybody notice that the workers at the construction place looked like sparkplug and spike in season 1
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-03-01 11:16:30
Yeah, I caught that. Also, the Autobots made a bad move by going back to the warehouse and leaving the Cons at the lake where the Allspark is still in their ship below. If Starscream repairs them, they can just go down, break into the ship and steal the Allspark.

:.........-@ i need to see that!!!

question to the viewers: does blitzwing have any hand-to-had fight weapons or is he skilled?

are blitzwing and lugnut a team?

I loved the ending. Will they join Starscream or Megs. I liked lugnutz. not really Blitzwing. Arcee spotlight was coll. Love Jhaxus.
Menastator said,  - 2008-03-01 12:36:08
What I like most is Blitzwing's 3-changer origin. The red and blue faces arguing over the tank and the plane, and the crazy one scanning both. Sweet!

Another awesome episode of Transformers Animated has aired. I really do like Lugnut. He has mindless loyalty like Inferno from Beast Wars. I must say the Decepticons keep showing up and get cooler and cooler. I liked the way the crazy face chose both alt modes when red and blue were fighting each other. And now we know Starscream still exists!!! Hasbro is missing a huge marketing opportunity waiting until June to release Transformers Animated Products. For those who want to catch the episode for the first time or the #20 here it is:

Next week brings us more Dinobot goodness. Until then enjoy and here is to wishing we could get the figures sooner than June.

LOVED this ep of TFA. Another gem. Blitzwing was awesome, Lugnut ruled... I liked how there was instant communication between Megatron and Lugnut. So now you can imagine Megatron keeping tabs on Starscream through Lugnut... This sets up a lot of fun possibilities.

As for Arcee, I thought it was a bit of a let down. Art was good. Story was decent but I was really hoping for much more as far as the "explanation of female" in transformers. Just being a Jhiaxis experiment? Eh, that's pretty lame. What does that *mean* because she's pink? Sheesh.

The biologist in me was hoping for much more. I mean, w/ all the (unnecessary) cussing in these books, IDW is obviously not trying to produce a strip made for pre-puberty aged fans. Why not carefully construct a logical rationalle that makes sense. Perhaps females could have the ability to generate a spark or some such.

I dunno. The issue was decent, but not as good as I was hoping and not up to the usual Simon Furman standards.

His name is LUGNUT, not "Lugnutz". There is no Z!
Jumpercliff said,  - 2008-03-01 18:14:59
That was a pretty good episode, especially when Lugnut says "Oooohhhh slag!!" and when Starscream appears at the end (finally, after so many episodes).

Awesome episode! I have got to get the toy of Blitzwing when it comes out! His three personallities are so funny! The sophisticate, the fighter, and the crazy! Sopisticate says fighter jet! Fighter says Assualt tank! Crazy says, why not both! lol.

What the heck did the allspark make in front of Sari? Megatron?

Lugnut ruled and it was cool with the sneak peek of megatron.

Unfortunately since I do not have cable, I havn't seen TFA at all. In fact, the last TF series I watched regularly was Beast Machines. The various comics, and watching older episodes of G1 and BW is what's been keeping me a fan for all these years.
I have gotten a hold of the Arcee spotlight...
For the most part, I think I liked it. But it's definatly not a kiddie book. Furman puts in interesting spin on the origin of female Transformers. But is it really necessary? I don't think it so much.
And I am forced to disagree with Perceptor, but I don't like the idea of females being able to generate sparks. That would defeat the purpose of having an Allspark, or creation Matrix, or whatever plot device is needed to create new Transformers (has the IDW verse established how Transformers are created yet?).
Aside from my questioning if this is the best plot tool to show the creation of females, I did find it an interesting story. So Arcee was altered not only physically, making female, but something was done to her mind, as I recall, she was talking about all this extra sensory input? So it was a something with her mind that was changed. The whole things was so violating to her, so traumatic, that she wants revenge.
This IDW verse is decent, although I wish the story they had going with Dreamwave had continued, and that IDW had simply picked up that story line. Personally as a fan, I feel I've been jerked around with too many versions of G1 alone, not even to mention all the various TF series which essentually start back off from square 1.

Yeah quickfire, That was Megatron cybertron mode. I do own the toy. That part really seemed out of place to me. I can't think of any better explanation other than a hologram of some kind. No humans seen that mode that I know of. Nobody raised any kind of fuss about it other than Sari. Sari never told anybody about it either. The hologram thing I mentioned before is a consideration, but maybe it's a cartoon error. I have to watch it again, I do have it recorded.

how come megatron didn't kill sari?

I thought it looked pretty awesome. We get a good Autobot Vs. Decepticon brawl. I also did like the return of Starscream. All in all, I give this episode two thumbs way up to Cybertron. Can't wait for the next episode.

time to update the Action Master pages on unicron.com seeing as how several made their first ever comic appearance in the Arcee Spotlight (if you don't count Dreamwave's profile books).
