You know, there was a real part of me that wanted the Seacons to be different people from their G1 counterparts. I don't know why. Maybe it was because I'm more versed in the BWII Seacons that all had character versus the Masterforce Seacons that were all drones with the exception of Snap Trap (Turtlar). I don't know. Still, pretty cool to see these guys finally becoming available, but I'm still not going to pay $120+ for them! lol

From the discussions I've seen in various places, price is the biggest problem for Nightbeat and the Seacons both. Truth be told, even $159 (assuming your not a member) isn't a bad price for a complete G1 gesault. But, I don't really know how many people are looking for the Seacons of all the gesault teams.

Nightbeat on the other hand, he just has too much pack in matterial. I'm sure the comic will be good. And, yes the box is pretty. But, some of us are NOT box collectors. Some of us just want the toy. I would galdly have ordered him without a box or comic to save money had it been an option.

Finally, I can order these! Took them long enough!

Personally, the combiner that I really want is Monstructor. If they did his set, I might order him.

Well, TPR the Seacons were only drones in Masterforce alone. The western versions of them had them all real characters with their own personalities.

Yeah, but that's only in comics. And that completely depends on if you take comic continuity over animated. And I personally prefer animated, despite that I collect all of the comics.

True $159 is not a bad price for a complete g1 gestalt, however this is a remake and is way over priced. Not even the encore line, while a little pricey does not have the balls to go that high. Yes I know these are exclusives but thats just a good excuse to justify the price.

Well, the animated parts of the post-1987 G1 toy commercials seem to take place after the Rebirth. so the Seacons' commercial would be part of the U.S. animated continuity, I guess.

I'm not buying into that whole "I leave you with, the touch, Billy!" commercials in continuity bit. I know that there were the commercials of everybody becoming Actionmasters and Powermasters and Headmasters outside of Season 4, but to me, they're just like the Beast Wars commercials of the 90's. Like the ones with Cybershark, Convobat and Megaligator, Magnaboss and Tripredacus. The commercials make it out like they are part of the continuity, but they're really not.

True, very true, wouldn't have been cool to have Tripredacus "actually" in the show? I think so, but thats my opinion.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-08-28 13:55:30
Well, technically he was... or, more accurately, they were. But they never merged into Tripredacus or even got their Beast Modes for that matter.
lord megatron said,  - 2008-08-28 14:42:14
precisely! But they were just the "Tripredacus Council" and may not have been the real Tripredacus units. It could have just been coincidence that there were 3 members of the counsil too. There's lots of possibilities, unless we managed to get a direct answer to our question from Larry or Bob there's quite a bit.

Supposedly, in the original script they were designated as Cicadacon, Ramhorn, and Seaclamp (though, there is dispute over who was Ramhorn and who was Cicadacon) and the reason they weren't like their toys was do to time and budget constraints. I don't personally know, I've never read the actual script, but that's what I've heard.

Well, you're right. it was due to time restraints.
