Fully Transformable ROTF Devastator!

Quite a while ago, it was discovered that, among the newcomers to appear in the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen feature film, would be the gigantic Decepticon behemoth known as Devestator, who would be formed by a combination of several smaller Decepticons know as the Constructicons. Many had hoped that he (and his components) would have a toy to accompany his movie appearance. But, once the revalation of his toy came to reality, many were upset by certain issue with the figure.

The figure for Devastator was shown to be formed by the combination of six construction vehicles and was stated to be an impressive two feet tall! However, the problem with this figure is that each of his individual components would not be able to transform into their own robot modes.

It was soon learn after that each of his components would be getting their own figures in addition to the Devastator figure. Unfortunately, while these individual versions would have their own robot forms, they would not be able to merge together to form Devastator.

After this, it seemed as though the designers struck out twice on making the perfect Devastator figure... until now!!!

Toywizard.com has an image of a fully transformable Devastator figure! Meaning that the components can change from vehicle to robot, and merge ("for the kill") in Devastator! You have TakaraTomy to thank for this as it is them who are making this figure. It is not yet known if it is a Japanese exclusive, or if Hasbro will be releasing a U.S. version as well.

Although, don't get your hopes up for a good-sized figure, as this is neither a supreme class figure set, nor a Leader set, nor a Voyager set, nor a Deluxe set, nor a Scout set. This set is an EZ Collection figure, meaning it's a Legends Class figure (EZ Collection is the Japanese equivalent of the Legneds Class figures).

Not to mention that, unlike the $100 figure, this Devastator is not formed by six members, but seven! The seventh member is Overload, who had been memtioned briefly before as to being another Constructicon.

Despite its minute size, this figure proves that good things can come in small packages. You may click here to view EZ Collection Devastator.

Also, look closely and you'll see that Scavenger's robot mode looks exacly like Demolishor! Could this be a confirmation on the two being one and the same?

A tiny Devastator? I wonder if he ran into a cloud of Pym particles or something.......

Lets see here. Six regular sized transformable non combining robots and a larger combiner of non transforming robots, or a low cost seven transformable combining robots of tiny goodness. I wonder which to choose...

I Don't know how to post a topic or even fet to the forums on this site, But does anyone besides me notice that soundwave's face has always strongly resembled the decepticon insignia? Wondering why. If anyone knows about this hit me up on myspace.com/darkfirexiii

You want a fully working Devastator?

You gotta get it at a size-class where _Bumblebee_ could kick his butt!

_Why_ don't the components of the $100 toy transform/Deluxe & Voyager figures combine? Take a look at the original Dev next to the $100 ROTF Dev. Keep in mind that the original was made in 1985, _and_ is much smaller than the ROTF toy. So how come _his_ component vehicles can transform, but the ROTF toy's can't? Dang, they're charging $100 for what Bandai charges $40 at the _very_ most for, except a whole lot uglier!

We all know Hasbro can be real idiots, but they _really_ screwed up this time. (as William Shatner) "Must...have...lights...and...sound...effects..."

Personally I think Devastator is a waste of money all the way around. I can't see whay Takara/tomy/Hasbro can't make the 2 foot figure who can alo transform into it's individual parts. I have a feeling thougfh that someone like FrenzyRumble will do a custom figure out of the individual bots and make a Transforming Devastator.

i'll concure that FrenzyRumble will do a custom that works

Well, I guess I'm not alone in thinking movie Devestator is butt ugly (thatnks "Guest", whoever you are).
My own impression is that the reason for the two versions of the figure by Hasbro is that they couldn't figure out how to make Mixmaster (if that is still the cement mixers' name) transform for both modes, and thus decided to get lazy and do the same for all.
At the very least they could have cheated and given add on parts like they did with G1 Devestator (head, lower arms and fists, ect..).
I'm still not spending money on any of these, even if we do get a mini fully transformable one. Just not my taste.

I'll definately get the mini one. Since we know we're getting a Prime/Jetfire mini combiner it'll at least match. Unlike the other devastators this one will at least have a comparatively large enough scale compared with other legends. The original devastator was only slightly taller than prime megatron or starscream. At the very least this one will be large enough all around to look menacing.

ARGH. This year is probably going to switch me over to either Dragon Ball or Gundam. Hasbro is stupid.

i wish they could of put the dinobots in rotf and as combiners, so he could have a match with devastator... then for the 3rd movie have the stunticons vs. aerialbots

*Spoilers*

"Many had hoped that he (and his components) would have a toy to accompany his movie appearance."

Ok, after seeing the movie, technically the big Devastator IS accompanying his movie appearance, because in the movie, none of his parts Transform into other robots. So that is the main reason I am really excited for this toy! Because it is just like in the movie...but without balls, lol.

You know I thought the same about the parts not transforming into robot mode in the movie but then after seeing it a second time I began to wonder.

When ravage ends up on the ship before going down to get Megatron, you see a few of the construction vehicles. Then you see robots go down to get Megatron. Are they not the same guys?

Just wondering.
soundwave said,  - 2009-08-08 17:50:10
there are several construticons in the movie the ones on the ship are not the same ones that merg to become devastator they must have scanned the same vehicles cause mixmaster triple changes robot/truck/railgun type of assult weapon as well long haul robot/dumptruck scavanger demolisher was explained in the movie im just gathering that from the 23 times ive watched the movie im buying the 100$ devastator for sure i have almost all the rotf toys already i cant get enough of them

The legends class Devastator is not my best bet. i am after the supreme because of its size and gimmicks. one problem i have with legends devastator is that scrapper does not have three fingers, he only has 2. and the supreme has a vortex grinder, while the legends does not. of course i am being nit picky, and the supreme, yes, is too expensive for its lack in detail. Hasbro does not know what they are doing with the prices!!!! But i have discovered a possible connection joint on deluxe rampage!
coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
where is the connection join TGSTRICKLAND1029??
