*UPDATED* Transformers: Prime - TRAILER and SDCC coverage/images

Straight to the point! The first trailer for the upcoming Transformers: Prime cartoon has appeared on IGN. It's very brief, featuring nothing but two Decepticon troopers walking alone and then getting a beatdown by Bumblebee, all in beautiful CGI. Go watch it! NOW!!!

Also, TFW2005 has covered the Transformers: Prime panel at San Diego Comic-Con, revealing several images from the event for all to see.

Among the information revelaed at the panel about the cartoon was:
* Orci and Kurtzman are working on this series because they really wanted to dig into the robot mythology, which they weren't abel to do in the movies.
* Bots have a need to hide from someone - "Robots in disguise"
* Takes place in the present day, after "Movie type" events with the Autobots hiding on Earth.
* When asked if TF:Prime is NOT in the Movieverse, a straight answer wasn't given. Movie-esque events kept getting referenced, but without actually saying for certain that it IS in the Movieverse. It's like they didn't yet want to say "Yes" to it not being with the movies, but also didn't want to directly put it in the Movieverse.
* They're stretching the limits of CGI with this series, making it "cutting edge" awesome.
* The images are rendered, but are not the final versions.
* Bumblebee - same images seen at BotCon.
* Arcee is blue instead of pink becuase they wanted to stay away from the G1's "girl pink stuff". She's a ninja style bike.
* Cliffjumper is a red 60s/70s styled muscle car with bull horns. And does NOT look like Bumblebee.
* Ratchet has a red and white color scheme and a "heartbeat line" on his arm.
* Human characters are Jack Darby, Miko Tezuka, and Rafael "Raf" Esquivel.
* Decepticon Troopers are nameless, ninja-esque, footsoldiers
* Megatron and Optimus - exact same images of them seen at BotCon. Movie-esque altmodes, but beautiful Movie/Animated/G1-esque Robot Modes. Alien jet mode for Megs.
* Peter Cullen himself speaks at this panel, talking about his work on the show and other things.
* Q&A  - Q's about Welker's new Megs voice, and getting Cullen to say things.
* Final question was about continuity. Answer: IT'S NOT MOVIEVERSE! It's War For Cybertron-verse! The pre-series "movie type" events mentioned earlier take place after the game/book, but are NOT the Movies themselves.

All these characters look awesome! The CGI really brings feelings of nostalgia from back in the days of Beast wars and Beast Machines. I am definitely psyched about this series!

Also, the above has been updated with corrected links to both the live feed and the images.

I just hope I can find some way to watch online since I don't have any tv other than broadcast *frown* images are looking good though I hope its at least the quality of star wars clone wars cgi cartoon. Anybody reckon it will be on the hub's website?

I hope so, cuz I'm gonna be losing the channel at my Mom's house so I'll be limited to watching it at my Dad's house on weekends. If it's streamed online at their website, then that will save me a lot of trouble.

Though, I'm sure some YouTuber will stream it too.

Sad that the Sdcc exclusive was just a Blaster reissue. Too bad he wasn't gonna be a new commemorative figure

Oh my god. TF: Prime is just what I wanted it to be: the feeling of Beast Wars mixed with the movie style? It brings back so much memories, when I got into Transformers, Beast Wars was the current line. I'm not that old, so Beast Wars was one of my favorite things as a child.

Everything looks great except for those Human Kids. I can already feel them getting on my nerves. I already miss Sari, she's the only useful human I actually liked in a Transformers Show.
cyberwuss said,  - 2010-07-24 11:36:39
Its because she was half cybertronian and was actually kind of cool after being upgraded (unlike most of the other tf humans) spike from g1 was decent at times but it was because he was more part of the action than some and they didn't overdo his presence like they tend to nowadays. Now that you mention it though most of the humans on animated were likeable not just sari...

it would be nice if there were no humans in a transformers series or with extreemly small parts like the protohumans on bw.
ither that or a military force like NEST or something along those lines but i dout that would happen
Sabrblade said,  - 2010-07-24 14:50:23
Beast Machines had no humans. It even had no Earth.

true that bm had no humans and to the best of my memory nither did bwn or bwii. but when ever there are autobots and desepticons it seems issential for human caricters to atempt to steel the limelight. sari was the only cartoon caricter human i liked. the g1 caricters were bland and the kids in subsiquant series were agrivating,.

in my oppinion, the members of NEST were the best human caricters because they complimented the transformers rather than steeling the show. even sam is a looser that shouldn't be there in my oppinion. lenyx and eps should be the main human caricters in the films.
i could be rong about these new human companions though. lately the humans have been getting less agrivating and mor of an interest. hears hoping that the humans in prime are just so.

On the subject of humans, there is one series that makes unusually good use of them. But then again that's because all the prominant humans become Transformers >XD. But eventhough they are human you tend to forgot them when they're linked up to there transectors and owning each other up
lioconvoy said,  - 2010-07-25 05:18:36
i'm not counting masterforce because of the god master humans-transformers-lets forget about the humans for a while idea lol.

they wern't that bad though. in fact adding to what i said previously, the god masters could verry well be the best human caricters second to lenyx and eps

Even the Headmaster Juniors were good. I had at first feared that Shuta and Cab would be the annoying human sidekicks, but they turned out alright. And Cancer was, perhaps, the most developed of them all.

I don't know, these designs look like they just yanked designs from other continuities and slapped them together. Ratchet smacks of Animated, Optimus and BB are clearly from the movie, Arcee harkens back to Energon. Cliffjumper appears original, but then Megatron looks like he scanned his alt mode from Starcraft.
