How would you like to own a rare piece of Transformers history? No, this won't cost you a anything. It's absolutely free!

A news posts from Jim Sorenson of the Disciples of Boltax blog reveals that, recently, a group of fans pulled their resources together to purchase several authentic scripts and other documents from Ron Friedman, writer of the 1986 G1 Transformers animated movie. Among the items purchased was a early draft of the 1986 movie's script. This draft goes into 190 pages detailing the plot of the movie as was written before the final draft was decided. As such, there are various differences between what's written here and what made it into the film itself.

And thanks to Jim Sorenson, we can now take a good long read at this script, as he has provided a free downloadable scan of the entire script! Go to his blog here to read an excerpt from the script, as well as download the entire thing.

Note you must have a program for opening PDF files in order to view the scanned script.

Sa-weeeet!!!! Flint Dille told me that in the early drafts of TFTM script, Unicron was actually going to be Cybertron itself, transforming to try and destroy the Earth. Hasbro didn't like the idea and Dille changed it! I wonder if this version has that in it?!?!

Another version I heard was that Optimus was either not going to die or he'd come back and, at the film's climax, would merge with Cybertron and transform the planet into a giant robot using the Matrix so he could fight Unicron. This would have also had Unicron as being a weapon designed by the Quintessons. Both ideas were scrapped, though.

Just finished the script, it's dark as hell that's what i like about it,and a bit more discriptive on the violence "COOL". Gears and Windchargers death was cool, the fact that i now know 4 sure my mech SunStreaker is still alive is off the chain. But I rather much prefer the Original Movie as opposed 2 this one. Yay or Nay?!
