Character Page Added in 1996

We've been going to Botcon for so many years, it seems like they've been going on since Transformers day 1.  Not true!  The first Botcon (/Exclusive) was started in 1994, a year in which there were fewer than a dozen new-molded TF toys on the store shelves....  Back in 1996, when Botcon was still in its infancy,  the convention was run by a group calling themselves, Men In Black and the convention exclusive toy was a recolor of the bat Optimus, called Onyx Primal.  Check out his all new character page recently uploaded in the 1996 section.

No TFs sold in the US in 1994? The sidebar on your very site's main page confirms otherwise. :-)

Du-oh! Nice typo! You'll have to cut me some slack. It was ~6am when I typed that and I was still getting my brain in gear. My apologies! :P Ugh.

No offense, but I would have to dissagree with you, Nevermore. Perceptor is indeed perceptive; There were perhaps fewer than a dozen NEW-MOLDED TF's on the shelves, though there were plenty of remolds/retools/repaints up for grabs.(not that I'm complaining; I did miss my opportunity to get a decent 'official' Superion at a decent price. *sigh*) The only thing really going for them that year were-in my opinion-the very awesome Laser Rods and the almighty Dreadwind w/Smokescreen Decepticon duo. Those were good times...

The current, fixed phrasing is okay. Perceptor previously claimed that there were NO Transformers on US shelves in 1994, which is obviously incorrect when the Generation 2 line was still going by that point. He admitted as much, too. :-)

Nevermore's right. My original news posting was incorrect and I changed it. Oops, "my bad."

It's okay. If I had a nickel for every time my brain froze... I'd forget where I put them anyway.

Yeah...I'd lose my head sometimes if it weren't for the fact that it's attached to my shoulders. Good catch on that then Nevermore. :-) On a side note, does anybody know the current status on the new cartoon network Transformers series?
