Movie Prototypes unveiled: Optimus and Megatron

The site Gen1TF.com has posted prototype pictures of Transformers Movie Optimus Prime and Megatron in vehicle & robot modes. Even without color these things are knock your socks off cool!

But why settle for the toy?  If you're the lucky high bid winner, you can own the actual head of Optimus Prime!  Well, it's actually the life sized prop that was really used in filming the movie.   So clear out that living room couch (Who needs it anyway?) and make room for the ultimate living room accessory! Good luck bidding.

Other, slightly more practical items from TF Movie are also being auctioned including: Movie Ratchet, transforming (in-color) hand-held 'game boy', Longview Binoculars, in-color digital camera, and even a transforming pen...

B & J, I totally think we should bid on the Optimus Prime head!!!! (As long as we can keep it at B's house.)

Oh. Freakin'. Yeah.
The GFoTPR would kill me if I were to get a giant Optimus Prime head. And I'm glad we can finally see some good lookin' toys again. Ever since Armada, figure quality has been in a slump.

A slump? Hah! Tidal Wave and the Battle Ship halves of Omega Supreme and Omega Sentinel were awsome whether or not they're realistic.

But, if you want to get into realisticness the Armada Megatron and Galvatron were very nice vehicals even if hasbro kinda deviated from reality. Cybertron had some really nice toys that resemble real life vehicals such as: Hightail, Lugnutz, Thundercracker, Jetfire, Mudflap, Dirtboss, Skywarp, Skyshadow, Evac, and my favorite Downshift. And don't even get me started on Primus I waited since the day I was born to get him and I don't care how much he sucks.

A slump?!?! What chu talkin bout willy? We're livin in a period of all time toy greatness. Alternators, Cybertron, Energon... they all rule and it's only getting better.

I think you're out numbered TPR. The Armada toys generally wern't good. Energon, Cybertron, Alternators, Classics, Universe, and Star Wars TFs have as whole all been good toy lines.

I just cant belive some one would pay $400 for an over sized vent cover. I'd like a piece of TF movie history as much as anyone. But, $400 for a piece of a prop, sorry none for me thanks.

Yeah, there have been a handful of good guys. Basically any Optimus Prime and any body that he would link with from the show was a good buy and the Megs/Tidal Wave combo was good, but Armada Hot Shot was a terrible figure! As was the Energon one. Energon was better, but not a whole heck of a lot. I'm just sayin', in comparasin to the years before the Unicron Trilogy we had much better figures. Beast Machines was a little rough, but hey, the transformations were challenging to say the least. RID gave birth to some of the most challenging Transformers figures; I don't even know if I can remember all of Galvatron's modes for that year. Stupid Hot Shot and Smokescreen... can't even touch their heads...

Those look like some sweet pics of Optimus and Megs!
Slump? I agree with Blaster (and the rest), we've had some great toys. I'm more of a G1 oriented fan, but even I've been picking up some of this new stuff, like Masterpiece Prime, Alternators, a few Classics, andI even got Energon Unicron adn Cybertron Vector Prime. And admitadly, these tyos are designed better than the G1 stuff was too.
As for the Optimus Prime movie auction, I wouldn't pull that checkbook out too soon. The auction is not for the head, but for a one by three foot grate that was on the head.
The auction can be a little misleading, and I can see how the excitment of seeing Optimus's head and the prospect of owning it can lead someone to just glance at the writing.

Ya but remember the G1 cartoon and toys kinda give you the impression that the (lets just say) corrispondance wasn't given much thought like it is nowadays so Naturally people will have some kind of (lets just say) Leniency to the newer generation of toys. I know I do.

Isn't the auction just for the grate thing that was on the back of optimus's head
Byrer prime said,  - 2007-01-17 19:23:11
Yes Greentea, the auction is for a grate that may or may not be part of the set. I reported him to ebay for misleading auction, too. Mess with TF fans. I have a grate from Home Depot I painted blue for $400.
