Masterpiece Starscream

Posted by:
Knightwing at 2008-01-01 12:45 pm

After weeks of poor and/or inconsistant distribution Walmart.com has their Masterpiece Starscream up for online orders.  I know this will be a great relief to many of you who have been searching any Walmart you can get to.  You can click here to go right to the MP SS page at Walmart.com to order yours.

TheToyValley.com is going to release a set of G1 tech spec cards.  However, there's no order page up for them yet.  You can get more info by giong to the orignal source of this news here at TFW2005.com

Already got MP SS. But given the fact that it was released three months ago, it's about time they put it on their site.
cyberwuss said,  - 2008-01-01 14:10:28
I got mine for xmas but they did start to disappear quickly in stores and were poorly distributed I noticed.

Oh man.... I really wanted master piece Starscream. But my parents won't let me buy stuff off the web. But when I'm older, as in 18 or above, I most likely will purchase things off of the web if the world still exists then, hint hint. Also, I just got a new printer, very cool and much better than the old Lexmart one. Oh yeah, another thing: Toys'r'us.com has been selling G1 redoes. Are they available in stores? I only own G1 Sidesweep out of the redoes. Hey guys! Did ya hear the Transformers 2 release date for June 26 2009 has changed? Check tfw2005.com for more! POST THAT!

I live in Las Vegas. I have seen, and bought, only One. I check often too. I guess they didn't make it this far. All the Wal-marts out here you would think it would be easyer to find them.
Luketroop said,  - 2008-01-01 16:46:04
I so want him but he might not be worth it.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-01 18:13:03
Ty, Who's "Sidesweep"?

Or did you mean "Sideswipe" and made a typo?
Tyscream said,  - 2008-01-01 18:16:47
Oh, yeah, Sideswipe.

It would be nice if Walmart.com had the constructicon set for sale.
Tyscream said,  - 2008-01-01 19:47:42
You mean Devastator set? Well, I would wish.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-01 20:52:06
Thank you, KW. I've been waiting for this news! I've been looking for the MPSS and I didn't know whatever happened to its release. (Here's the set up) Now I know.
Cheetor2 said,  - 2008-01-01 22:53:38
Thanks for the heads up. I bought mine just now.
leohoss said,  - 2008-01-02 01:48:51
It's about dog gone time they put SS on the website for purchase.
Jumpercliff said,  - 2008-01-02 15:42:24
Man, I really want that thing!
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-02 19:49:52
It's worth getting. My only pet peeve about it is that whenever the arms are moved upward, his shoulders move with them rather than staying put. It's really annoying.

The rest of the figure is impressive indeed.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-02 21:14:08
I'm still hoping that one day they'll release Masterpiece Megatron. Maybe for the 25 year anniversary they will. That's next year if I'm not mistaken. I don't know, it might be a just a dream, but hey, it's my dream. It's right up there with a professional dub of the six Japanese exclusive series and specials. (Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Beast Wars II, and Beast Wars Neo for anybody unsure of what I was talking about.)
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-02 21:14:42
Oh yeah, and a release of Beast Wars Neo Unicron. I know that'll never happen, but that's on that list, too.
Dogzilla said,  - 2008-01-02 23:32:06
My brother gave him to me for Christmas. He's really cool. It took me forever to transform him but the F-15 mode is just as awesome as robot mode. He's now standing next to my masterpiece Optimus. I chose to display him in robot mode but the display base allows you to showcase him in either mode. I recommend it for all fans!
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-03 08:58:25
tripredravage, I think,(but i'm not sure), that hasbro stated a while back that we will indeed be getting him through US customs at a local store. not sure what line he'll be in probably classics though. as big of a megatron fan that I am, I still have my problems with the figure, like the ability to stand, in my opinion they should have included a stand for megs instead of screamer, and my second gripe is that he is rather fragile. Not much in play value but if you want to use him for display he'll be just fine. transformation is insanely hard too! hes the hardest transformer figure to transform ever! which makes him even cooler! also, will you be attending Botcon this year? anyone?
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-03 09:33:44
I'm guessing you imported one, Lord Megs? I'd like to import figures, but I'm just not willing to dish out the cash needed to do so. And also, it seems like sometimes we get a better release here. I think the American version of MP Starscream looks a heck of a lot better than the Japanese one. So I'll just sit around and twidle my thumbs in anticipation. I don't know about Botcon. I've gotta think about it. It depends on if it is taking place during classes or if it's my April vacation. And even then it's a toss up.
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-03 10:53:01
yeah, I did the bbts preorder thing, and yeah I'll get ripped off as soon as they re-release him. lol! Oh and I agree, mp-03 looks like butt and is made of less sturdy plastics than his american counterpart. Jet mode however is seemingly classy. that sucks about botcon this year, they planned it earlier than usual so now I have to make a choice of going to botcon or going to stupid freakin' diney land that my mom and my little sister want to go to that just so happens to be during the same weekend! most likely, botcon.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-03 11:02:06
I gotta say, LM, I laughed at the "mp-03 looks like butt" quip. That was funny. I put a lot of thought into my Botcon trip 'cause I'm waiting for the right one. I wanted to go to the one in 2006 for several reasons. 1. It was all about the Beast Wars, and I am all about the Beast Wars. 2. I graduated High School and there is a tradition that my mom takes the graduating family member on a trip of their choice, but for some reason my mother denied me my trip because a prior graduate had already traveled to Kentucky. So she told me that whatever the next good one was is the one she'd take me to, so I'm waiting until something I can't deny comes up. Sure I'm into my twenties now and it may appear uncool to go to a convention with my mother at this age, but hey, this isn't about appearance, it's about priorities and vengence for my graduation trip!
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-03 11:12:56
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?? ARE YOU ON CRACK FATTRUCKMAN?!@?!?!?!?!!?!??!? oh and tripredravage, its not uncool about you going to a convention with your mother, hell I'm 16 and I still do stuff with my grandma like movies and stuff. I'm going with my mom and two of my freinds.sorry i feel a little light-headed after reading that load of stupid that that guy just fed me.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-03 11:32:03
Lord Megs, what fattruckman wrote is what we Monty Python fans like to call, "Spam, spam, spam, spam. Spam, spam, spam, spam. Lovely SPAM, wonderful SPAM!"

No I'm kidding. XD

Anyway, so you're 16? Are you stuck in the same situation as me? Where all the family members think you're too old for toys and cartoons, and should grow up and start acting like an adult. Ugh, Lord help me.
With family like that, I doubt I'll ever get to go to BotCon, much less seeing that it never comes to my state.
Luketroop said,  - 2008-01-03 14:02:00
I get to go to Botcon with my dad. We both like Transformers so we make a perfect fit. My dad was 15 when TF came out and he bought them since he was married.
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-03 14:35:20
LUCKY!!!!!!
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-03 15:33:16
Btw, Lord Megs, the way you put it with people needing cussing, gore, and inappropriateness for something to be good, THAT is the opposite with my parents... and me. I can do with out all that stuff. I recently saw the first Die Hard movie and had the option to watch the sequels, but after all that extreme graphicness, I passed on the others. It just wasn't just cup of tea.

And its not that they don't get the plot, its that they don't think a grown person should be watching "kid shows" and/or playing with "toys". They think that those adult who are into that stuff have thrown away their lives and ruined their opportunities for a successful future.

One more thing:
Me: "Isn't there someone else we can talk to?"
You: "No now go away or I shall torment you a second time, you English Kin...niggits!"
Me: "..."
Me: "What a strange person."

XD
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-03 15:56:36
well, thats sort of what I meant and lol to teh holy grail!
yeah I haven't thrown my life away..........yet! no but really I plan to become a voice actor someday. I know some dreams don't come true but this one is easily within my grasp. So far I've been able to PERFECTLY mimic movie frenzy, beast megatron, davy jones from pirates, jack sparrow from pirates, elmo (lol, with which I did a few prank calls), g1 prime, armada unicron and a bunch more that I just made up for a what if scenario. I just have to remember not to be overconfident or have no confidence.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-03 18:05:24
I can't tell ya how many voices I can do. Cuz there's way too many to name. But I'll say that I can basically do the voices of the entire Beast Wars cast, and those who have the same voices.

Ordered my Starscream from walmart and got an email that they are on backorder now. Oh well. Worth a shot.
Blasten Blaster said,  - 2008-01-04 17:14:53
dont worry backorde means you will get it but at a later time than usuall b/c they are out of stock online
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-05 10:20:51
People should probably either start a new topic or go back to the previous TF:A one because...

Episode 4 just aired!
I liked it... kinda. The whole slumber party idea was sorta lame, but bringing Megs back to life was genius. He's proved he can be a threat even when he's just a head. My hats' off to Burton for his performance. He does well as he plays Megatron. However, the Angry Archer wasn't how I pictured. He was bumbling, less-than-bright, and was basically the cliché "evil genius sidekick/lackey". But it was nice to see more of Prowl's personality. His relationship with Bumblebee reminds me of Dinobot and Rattrap (and yet everyone was comparing him to Cheetor). Overall, I can't wait till the next episode.
Blasten Blaster said,  - 2008-01-05 13:21:19
who else was reminded by that lil 4-legged robot of Megatron' "flying two clawed form" from Beast Machines. Also who loved the scene when Bumblebee was using his wheles to get around in robot mode? I loved it I never would have expected that from the cartoon in 50 years.

Secondly I like prowl and all with his ninja likeness but who else is sick of the "cartoon emo-loner hates making friends" attitude it's been used to much in cartoons/anime and is really getting anoying
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-05 15:35:07
I liked that Prowl finally stepped into the light. I really wasn't feeling him in the first three, but this one really brought him out and I liked him a lot. I loved Bumblebee rolling around on his wheels, it was a nice touch. I'm with you Sabr, I've noticed the similarities between BB and Rattrap ever since he said "We're all gonna die, aren't we?" in the first episode. I think my favorite part about the episode was how it pretty much said "Yeah, Optimus Prime could kick the ever-loving crap out of Green Arrow. Hands Down."
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-05 18:00:28
Nah, Green Arrow would be more of a challenge to Prime. He's not dim-witted like the Archer. Besides, the Archer is more of a dumb, unkind Robin Hood with the Green Arrow's weaponry.
Human Error said,  - 2008-01-06 10:30:41
so i went ahead and ordered the Masterpiece SS off the site (btw i hate ordering things i feel like its cheating, and would rather find it myself) anyhoo i did the whole site to store thing but before picking him up i decided to take a look over on the transformers shelf, and son of a *beep* they had him there. oh well, at least i got one.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-06 12:55:45
Ya could say "son of a gun" if ya don't wanna say the b-word.
Chaos Bringer said,  - 2008-01-06 19:59:57
The Angry Archer didn't go over so well with fans did he?

That's probably why Cartoon Network is pulling the next episode, which would have introduced another supervillain. It seems they may have finally taken my advice...
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-06 20:09:54
What are you talking about pulling the next episode, CB? According to the Cartoon Network schedule the next episode airs same time next Saturday as it did this week. What do you know that we don't know, hmmm? o.O
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-06 20:45:56
What he means is that CN is skipping episode 5 and airing episode 6 instead. Episode 7 will air the following weekend. It is not know when episode 5 will air.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-06 20:53:55
Ah, I see.
Cheetor2 said,  - 2008-01-07 12:43:11
I got my MP Starscream today and I'm not all that pleased with it. The quality of the toy is lacking something. It feels really cheap. Parts come off too easily. I already lost one of his fingers and then found it. However, the robot and plane sculpts are awesome. Very detailed. I would still buy this toy. It IS Starscream!!!!!!!
