Target: 2006

Okay, so does everybody remember 2006?  I know it was a while ago, but come on, think about it.  We were amidst Transformers: Cybertron, there was a little bit of news about the live action movie, anyone?  No?  Oh well.  Back way back when, the good ol' Marvel comics did an event called Target: 2006... I think... I don't really know, it was before my time.  Anyway, the story took place after the 1986 TF Movie and was set in or around the year 2006.  Well the guys over at IDW have been retelling this tale and have collected the story into a brand new Trade Paperback!  Of corse, considering that it happened in 2006, maybe you could just pull out a photo album and relive the events that way.

Now, I don't know if this story was ever collected prior to this moment in one of the old Titan Books, but that is a possibility.  If anybody knows the answer to this, feel free to fill me in.  But either way, happy viewing everybody!

sounds interesting, I wish the cover was a little more like the generations Trade Paperback. That art was simply the awesome!

I hope my custom gets posted soon.

Custom? What did you custom, LM? Anything good?
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-15 14:18:19
sort of good. its my first official custom. I took a master batttle damaged gundam and took EVERY piece apart and coated each one with a permenant coat of paint. right after washing them, that is. And thus created MY version of a "classics" representation of Super Megatron from Battlestars. I intintionaly started out as making him just a repaint of the figure to make a super posable new megs but ended up adding parts and molding new parts on him. he has plenty of accessories too! comes with alternate hands and severed devestator head which he can hold in his hands, alternate "spark gripping" claws (actualy dock-ocks claws) for extracting sparks and making himself more powerful and wise, and numerous attachable shockwave-type stylus things. oh yeah and his flail. Sent the pics into jason a couple of weeks ago(about7).

I have the comics, but I do not remember them. It was a good story, I think Starscream got killed by Galvatron again. Nice picks!

(Continuing form what Lord Megs wrote) Yeah, and I've been waiting for a long time to see the pics of this interesting figure. Which seems to feel like two months rather than seven weeks.

lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-15 17:01:18
also, did you know that you can hitch cybertron hotshot or excellion to armada overload to make somewhat of a rodimus prime? looks pretty sweet!
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-15 17:10:58
O_O! Now you really have my attention. Could you show a web address to some pics of that?

Off topic: Hey guys! I'm back! I've been doing a lot of stuff lately. Got Metroid Prime Hunters DS, hoping to get some upcoming stuff such as a LEGO Indiana Jones set and the Family Guy Blue Harvest StarWars DVD. And I've been doing some stuff on the internet as well. like I saw some thing else for the Iron Man movie. I just watched a Hasbro.com Botcon 2007 pod cast and found out about a fan who renamed himself, Optimus Prime! WOW.

On topic: Well, 2006 was 2 years after I began liking and collecting Transformers making me have been collecting Transformers for 3 years. But I do have a lot since I'm a spoiled little brat. I have nearly 15 or more [or less] movie figs. I have G1 Sidesipe. Plus lots more! Okay, back to 2006. It was the year every morning I would watch Transformers: Cybertron on TV before I went to school. And so on. A good year it was. ^_^ Also, I've never heard of that Target:2006 thing.

Tyscream, I don't want to be rude or anything, but by any chance, are you an only child? I am myself, and I was wondering if you are, too.
Tyscream said,  - 2008-01-15 18:06:44
No, I'm not. Why?
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-15 18:45:53
No real reason, just wondering.

Heh, hah, I love guessing people's birth order when I meet people. I'm often correct. Like us Lukis bros, we display MANY of the "typical characteristics" of first, middle and last born children...

Anyway, thanks for the post TPR. I have not bought that book and frankly knew little/nothing about it. I may just have to check it out. Is it out in stores now, or due wednesday? I'm pretty certain it was not published by Marvel US, but Marvel UK. I'll be on the look out now.

How's the art? Back in the mid-80's I was trying hard not to barf at the art of Jose Delbo. He used to draw human hair thick like spagetti, and bizarre pupils in robot's eyes... I didn't like it. Then Geoff Senior came along and we all thought it was the BOMB! Of course by today's standards it's probably pretty sub-par. What did you think?
Knightwing said,  - 2008-01-15 19:56:17
I think people would guess I'm an only child. They'd be right and wrong. I have very few standard relationships in my life including the one with my sister. We grew up together. We were so independent of one another that in high school people had no idea we were related, even thougth we were the only 2 people (including staff) with our last name. :)
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-15 19:58:21
I haven't actually gotten the book yet, Perceptor. I think it came out today (Tuesday), but I'm not exactly sure. I'm gonna go to my comic book store tomorrow and check it out. I'll let you know if I find it.
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-16 08:01:21
response to sabrblade: yeah, I'll try and put some pics up on photobucket and send them in an email if you'd like. It's actually fairly simple to do all you have to do is have both of them in their alt modes and hitch overload onto excellions' missle hole/area not with the gun in the hole but just that little gray part that surrounds it.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-01-16 10:24:45
Sounds cool. I would try this out myself but I don't own Hot Shot or Excellion. So it would just be Overload on his own.

E-mail would be fine.
lord megatron said,  - 2008-01-16 12:49:49
ok, I'll send teh pics via email soon.
Byrer prime said,  - 2008-01-16 14:34:38
Perceptor, you're right about you and your brothers. From the pictures on the site in 2004, I picked you as the alpha child and guessed the correct picture of you. Woah! I just noticed that you have Unicron.com written in the background on this page.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-16 15:06:57
Byrer, I just laughed so hard at that "just noticed that you have..." comment that coupled with my cold I crumpled over into a coughing mass, but it was well worth it for the sheer fact that now there are probably going to be a bunch of other people commenting how they never noticed it either, and I look forward to that.
Perceptor said,  - 2008-01-16 17:12:11
noticed what?
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-01-16 17:27:04
That the site says "Unicron.com" in the stary background.
