As Beast Wars was just reaching the rest of the world, Japan had a few exclusives. These have been added to the 1997 page which has also been "cleaned up" a little.

Why is the year 1999 missing in the reviews sections. I can understand that unicron.com hasn't gotten around to 1985 - 1995 review pages yet but its just strange that 1999 hasn't got one.

Tigratron wasn't the only one to get a slightly different deco. Almost all of the BW show characters had a different color scheme in their Takara releases:

* Convoy was in a dark gray color while Primal was black
* Dinobot had brown stripes and helmet instead of black
* Rattle had show-accurate bronze parts that Rattrap lacked
* Rhinox was gray instaed of tan
* Terrorsaurer was show-accurate in red and gray, yet Terrorsaur was red and blue
* Black Widow had several different colors from Blackarachnia on her body
* Plus the Volcano Set w/ Snapper and Armor(dillo) is missing.

Also, while this isn't BW, SHBM Galvatron was released in Japan in 1997.

And Tyscream, are you sure? That looks like someone just darkened the colors of a regular TF:A Starscream image.

So you know, when I finish what I have in the way of exclusives, I'll be going back and taking all the comments into consideration.

We know, the comments about that were erased by someone (not me).

Saberblade is right. All of the Japanese BW figures had differences from the US versions. However, some of the earlier ones (C & D 1-7 or so) were original identical to the Hasbro versions, but later shipments had modified decoes. Some of these made the toys more show accurate (Rattrap, Terrorsaur, Rhinox, Primal), while others were less show accurate (Rhinox), and others that had changes that went both directions (Blackarachnia, Cheetor, Scorponok, Waspinator)

I didn't say ALL the JBW toys were different. White Claw, Convobat, Howlinger, Airazor, Cybershark, Megatron, Megalligator, and Kuwagaigar were all the same as their U.S. releases.
