If you need to be the very first owner of the uncontested biggest jerk-of-an-Autobot in the 24-year history of Transformers, now is your chance!  Check out this, the first online auction of Sentinel Prime!  With only 14 hours to go it's a steal at it's current price over $130 it includes the very special feature of being, "no broken."

One can also find the "Expanded Universe" MOC, Transformers Spider-Man, Venom and Hulk. (Now if 'Big Green' actually transformed into a tank in the upcoming movie, I might actually be willing to see the film!)

I'll just wait for Pompous Gas-Bag Prime to be avaliable in stores. I wish he were a Voyager instead of a Deluxe, he's too small to interact with the Ultra Magnus toy now.

And, I really don't care for the CROSSOVERS (not "Expanded Universe") line. I'm more into the main line figs.

(btw, a "TF: Exapnded Universe" line did exist back in 2002. Four BotCon figs were sold under that name. The line eventually became the "TF: Universe" line in 2003.)

I still can't believe people are bidding beyond ridiculously on something that will be available at retail very soon.

Seriously! Why does everyone hate on Sentinel? He's definitely in my top 5 of TFA TFs. I'd even say he's in my top 3. I don't get the hate... -_-

I guess he's just one of those characters that you love to hate! XD I don't care much for Sentinel just because he's arrogant. I do, however, love that his stupidity sometimes lands him into a lot of trouble. That's always good for a laugh! He is a great character just not my favorite. My favorite Animated character so far is Lockdown, just because of the way that he is potrayed.

You don't get the hate TPR? What's not to get? He's a pure A-hole!

Don't get me wrong, I like Sent Prime, he's a bit like Waspinator of Beast Wars, in that everyone cheers loudly every time he gets his butt kicked by either an Autobot or a Decepticon! But the difference is Waspinator was just so darn likable! By the end of the show, you could only feel bad for the poor bot and we all cheered loudly when he wound up the king of the tribe!

You know what would make Sentinel Prime cool? This was my theory early on in the series, well actually until I saw Autoboot Camp. Before they made it known that all higher ranking Autobots get the suffix, "Prime" nowadays! I was guessing that Sentinel Prime was actually a Decepticon in disguise. (Which would explain his power hungry characteristics, and animosity he shows towards Optimus). Anyway, before they ruined my theory by doing the whole, "Longarm//Shockwave" story line, it was my theory that Sentinel Prime was actually, NEMESIS Prime in disguise...

Actually, I still think that'd be cool. and the only way you're ever getting me to like S.P.! :)

C'mon TPR! If you like'm so much, I elect you to be the high bidder of this fantastic toy! :) You can even do a nice little video review as well! :)

But not a stop motion video. That's my department and you stay out of it.

I don't see why people try to sell/buy TFA figs on webs like Ebay. I mean some of them are already out or coming out. Same with the Marvel TFs.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-06-17 06:36:23
Well, clearly, Ty, people sell the figures on eBay because they have yet to see the actual market so they can sell the figures for rediculous overprices, that people are willing to buy because they are impatient. Hence why the figure is (currently at the time of writing) $111.99!

And he's not a pure A-Hole! He is just constantly dealing with the fact that he's not the favorite. I mean, we all saw the episode with Optimus and Sentinel where there was that whole "I'm Prime, and you're Prime and we're the same rank, so get off my patoot before this thing blows up" episode. Sentinel wasn't so bad at the end with it's very "Beast Wars 103 The Web"-esque ending.

And he's only a jerk for comedic purpose, as evident by his few appearances and mishaps. Such as Headmaster. He's pompous in that "I say this now, but things aren't going to be looking my way soon" kinda way.

And finally, HE'S THE TICK! Which was a great animated series back in the 90's that a lot of people didn't quite get or like because, as kids, it was too hard to understand that the show was a parody on super heroes.

In conclusion, Sentinel Prime is awesome and I deserve and A on this paper.

Although some upcoming toys are very cool, whenever I see auctions for new toys I wonder why people are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a toy they could get for $10-$40 in a few months/weeks. I am an impatient person, but even if I had that kind of money, I would certainly wait for the toy on sale on eBay to come out in stores.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-17 09:55:28
I'm kinda in a different boat with Sentiel Prime, guys. I dislike him, but I don't HATE hate him. Overall, he's a pompous jerk, and I've had my experience with those kind of people, who have made have a strong dislike of them. And since we've seen Sentinel get what he deserves a few times, that makes me not hate him, only dislike him. I WOULD hate him if he NEVER got what was coming to him and always stayed on top of Optimus. But since things have been shown to happen to him, it shows that he's realized that he's not Mr. Perfect and does have his flaws like everyone else, but he still does his best to hide it, thus keeping as an unlikable character to me. I don't HATE him, but I just don't like him.

I still want his toy though. I just wish it were a Voyager instead of a Deluxe. He's too small to interact with the Leader Ultra Magnus toy. And He's supposed to be taller than Optimus' team, or at least up to Bulkhead's chin.

Oh, and about the "Pompous Gas-Bag Prime" bit, I only call him that because I thought that was funny when Optimus called him that. I thought "Maitenance Prime" was kind of mean, as it was an insult meant to downsize Optimus' rank and position of Authority. "Pompous Gas-Bag Prime", however, makes fun of Sentinel's attitude and isn't as cruel as Sentinel's insult (whcih was only funny to him).
Starscream said,  - 2008-06-17 09:55:32
I agree completely! Why pay tons of money on Ebay and other sale sights when you can just wait for the toys to come out in stores?! And I happen to like Sentinel (As far as Autobots go) to the point of him being my number one favorite Autobot characture (See http://www.unicron.com/news_item/1368/)!
And if you must buy a TF Animated figure online, look for the best and cheapest deals possible! Don't waist all your money on a figure that you can find all over the Web (And the World)! Get a figure that is uncommon,or one that you realy like, such as your favorite characture.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-06-17 10:42:32
Oh, Holy Crap! I didn't even realize that he was a deluxe, I just assumed that he was a Voyager class figure! That is just plain shocking! I THINK the most I've ever paid for a figure was $92 for my X-9 Beast Wars Metals Jaguar (aka Beast Wars Transmetal Ravage). I can't remember how much I paide exactly for Beast Wars II Lio Convoy, but it was probably heading in that direction as well...
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-17 10:52:02
$92 bucks for X-9 Jaguar? Lucky. The cheapest I can find him is $145.00.
Perceptor said,  - 2008-06-17 13:30:39
I am one of these people that has to fight back the temptation to bid on overpriced TFA toys a month or two before they come out! I will say, I've done a pretty good job in this. The only toys I bought were a loose (inexpensive) Grimlock several months ago and a MISB voyager Optimus Prime so that I could have David Kaye, Bumper Roninson, Tara Strong, Isenberg and the CartooonNetwork crew that attended Botcon autoghraph it. To me the TFA depiction of Optimus Prime as a young, inexperienced, not top level rank Autobot is most UNIQUE of any character versus their portrayal in another TF generation. It was because their artistic style is seen on this character more than any other, that I chose this to be my most special momento from Botcon 2008 and get loaded up with signatures.

Anyway, that to me is what makes this auction so interesting. I do occassionaly bid on ebay auctions. But I have ZERO interest in bidding on that toy. It's intersting to me that even with this less likeable character/persona, there are at least 2 people in the world willing to pay $130 just for the right to be among the first to see the toy. (1 person to bid even more than 130 plus the other to raise the bidding that high!)
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-06-17 14:52:20
Just because the character is unlikeable doesn't mean the toy is unlikeable too.

Besides, the bid is over. The winning bid was $111.99.

I got you all beat the most i've ever spent on one TF is $400.

But Perceptor I d totally agree 119 dollars for a ten dollar toy is rediculous that like what 12x over retail value. who ever won that is just stupid
Jumpercliff said,  - 2008-06-17 20:23:53
I'll actually get Sentinel. It's the first time a character with that name has gotten a figure, so why wouldn't I?
mkbauch said,  - 2008-06-17 21:56:58
I'll end up picking up Sentinel because of who he is. I get what they are doing with Sentinel. When you stand him next to Optimus Prime, Optimus shines even more. He's a comparison character, someone the writers throw in there to remind you of what the core protagonist could be and how he rises above his contemporaries despite his challenges. Would Optimus shine without Sentinel, yes, but he wouldn't shine nearly as brightly. That and everyone likes seeing the arrogant jock become the punching bag for the capable everyman.
