Yeah, i heard that too Brian. However the article i reference states:

"The studios will exclusively support the HD DVD format starting with next week's release of Blades of Glory. Later this year, DreamWorks' summer hits Transformers and Shrek the Third will also be released only on HD DVD (and of course standard DVD). Earlier this year, Flags of our Fathers and Dreamgirls were released on both Blu-ray and HD DVD, but older Shrek films are not out on either format."

The statement about Spielberg films could be referring to the films he directed and his "Classics" such as Jaws.

i dont think anyone that owns a blue ray disc player is gonna worry , i asume they still have there old dvd players....

does anyone have an idea when the movie score will hit the shelves?

Well, even in Blue Ray owners don't have old DVD players, I think Blue Ray players can still play standard DVD's. So they will just have to deal with non HD Transformers.

I myself just have a standard DVD player. Although my Laptop's screen is an HD LCD screen, I believe the computer's DVD player is only standard, so no HD dice for me (It's like having an HDTV but no HD DVD or Blue Ray player basically, but I don't have a TV tuner for my laptop anyway, so there is no TV analogy at all).

Oh, megatron, I've been looking up on the score constantly because I too want the score on CD. There was word that Sony was going to release the score in August, but it turns out they don't own any rights to the 2007 TF property, only the 1986 movie, and they were referring to that. However others that are affiliated with the 2007 movie say that the score will be released... we just don't know when.

From what ive heard on the special features jumpercliff. There will be commentary with Bay. A friend of mine who has the latest Simpsons dvds was listening to the comentary on those and they stated "We have to get out of the studio quick because Mike Bay and co. are coming in to record the transformers commentary after us" or something to that effect. We also know that we will be getting an animated version of the prequel comics with Peter Cullen reprising his role! Im going to go ahead and put these on my wish list:

The original cgi tests

all the deleted scenes with the option to watch them in context of the movie.

a trivia track ala the 20th anniversary dvd

screen tests

audition reels

a gag reel

and all the concept drawings to name a few

Hey, if you work for Hasbro can you ask them if there will be a movie Legends Bonecrusher, Ironhide, Brawl, or 08bb? Will there be a bonecrusher FAB? O and can you ask them if there is any truth to the rumor that we are getting even more overpriced than normal G1 encores over here? I saw listings for them on Walmart's website. If they were priced like other figures of the same size then I would buy all 4. And most important of all... Can they PLEEEAAAAASEEEEE release scaled down versions of G1 combiners, Powermaster Prime, Fort Max and any others? Just like the knock-offs but good quality plastic? I think they would find that it would be cheaper than just reissuing them and they would be easy to market to people who already have the originals or reissues. PLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!

go to bbts.com they have a preorder for a 1/4 scale allspark cube for $65.00 . its about the size of a rubics cube .i think thats too much money for a rubics cube ,and also the corners will be rounded for safety reasons,not sharp that sucks .

Much like the sony Betamax which had better piture quality and a nice size for the tapes Super VHS came out on top because of Sony's poor marketing of Betamax which was the supreme player it was better than VHS but Betamax never was marketed as such and the price never really came down until VHS took over so Beta went away much like Blu ray which is a far superior system but with the lowest price being 499 and only a fraction are blu ray owners Paramount did what was best for sales and most likely sealed blurays fate

If I could have a scaled down version of all the Autobot leaders (Prime, Rodimus, Fort Max, Ginrai, Victory saber, Dai Atlas, Starconvoy, Guard City) I would be a very happy person. Very very happy. And being smaller than the originals would hopefully lower the price to a reasonable level. Something like this would probably be very successful. I could imagine that even kids would at least consider picking these up if the packaging made them look fun. The Smallest Transformers line was very successful in Japan so I don't see why this line wouldn't be, especially if the figures were at least big enough to retain all the transformation features and accessories of the originals. The Armada line showed that kids don't really mind low articulation if a figure has features that make up for it. And parents like affordable figures that don't take up too much space. Everybody wins. Anybody like my idea?

Such a product already exists Fort max was released in Japan in two forms back in 87 the larger than life bot we all know and covet and a little known version called Brave maximus JR its about the size of G1 prime yet transforms into three modes city battle station and robot

I lucky enough though my Japanese PS3 and Xbox 360 HD-DVD add on to have both Blu-ray and HD-DVD. They are exactly the same when the same codec is used. Its the codec that makes the picture if mpeg 2 is used instead of VC-1 or AVC Mpeg 4 the picture is not as good.

Ill get the new film on HD-DVD and the superior 1986 film on Blu-ray. Its odd but the new film is HD-DVD only while the old one is Blu-ray only due to Sony having the rights. The 1986 film is out on Blu-ray in the UK in October November its on play.com now. It will be region free I recon so people like me with Region A players can play it. Im in England but imported a Japanese PS3 as I wanted to play Japanese psx ps2 games plus I wanted a Region A Blu-ray player.
