Today we catch a glimpse of the upcoming next figure in the line Hasbro unofficially calls the Movie Premium Series. Following the Metallic Megatron and Ratchet sold at Best Buy stores as a special promotion for the DVD release this premium metallic treatment of Starscream will grace the shelves of Target stores around the nation. Thanks to the tfw2005 boards for the picture, and Sabrblade for the news tip!

In other news Michael Bay makes a statement at rottentomatoes.com regarding his plans to intentionally "leak" multiple fake scripts and treatments for Transformers 2.  Thanks to Master Dex for the news tip.

Don't get me started. I hate walmarts already as it is. I've spent too much time already going in and out of them this weekend. with no luck... grrrrrrrrr.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-11 11:26:12
Credit isn't really important, but those people are noted for sending in the tip, not mentioning in comments.

As for megatrons predicament, I feel your pain, I looked for a while and just got really lucky one day. Like 4 or 5 MP Starscreams. It was spending a fortune at the time, but he looks really good on my desk now commanding all the other display jets(non-transformers though, SR-71, F-22, and SU-47... and the U.S.S. Enterprise.)

If you guys think you got Wal-Mart problems, listen to this:

Whenever I go to the two Wal-Marts near me, I'm on the lookout for Starscream. Does he ever show up? No. Do they ever leave a spot to put him on the shelves when they restock? No! Do they ever sell anything besides Wreckage, Swindle, Scorponok, or Payload? NO! And to top it all off, between thes two stores, the one nearest me has had Cybertron Primus and 20th Anniv. DVD Prime on the shelves for FOUR MONTHS and none of them seems to have sold! Honestly, how can we buy from these people if the won't sell us what we want?!!
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-11 14:41:15
Sounds like my Walmarts back home. As some may know I'm away at college, I got lucky to find Starscream at all where I am currently residing, which is a town much smaller than my home city.
Human Error said,  - 2007-11-11 15:43:03
i think thats the trick you gotta look at "small town" Walmarts. sadly im still looking for mine.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-11 15:57:07
I agree, when I was on the hunt for the Wii, I couldn't find it at home at all. When I was on vacation in a really small town (smaller than where I am now) I found 2 of them at a local Wal-Mart (it wasn't even a supercenter, that's how small), so I finally bought one.

The smaller towns have less people so they will have gotten what they want faster perhaps is my thinking.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-11 16:07:55
That bites! Small towns get the good stuff, while all the big towns get stuck with the stuff leftover from the "nobody-wants-it" pile!
black convoy said,  - 2007-11-12 00:44:39
you're still lucky megatron, you had a chance to hold and see a wm exclusive mp starscream. me, it's still a dream....
Scorpomike said,  - 2007-11-12 01:17:17
I can tell you that small towns do not get the good stuff. I live in a small town and our Walmart doesn't have MP Starscream. I also checked a few Walmarts in towns nearby and no luck. I ordered mine from Big Bad Toy Store. They bought some from Walmart.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-12 02:40:29
Perhaps it takes an amount of luck, and some good old reconnaissance. I just really like him sitting there now.
Jumpercliff said,  - 2007-11-12 10:47:14
Thanks for the news tip, Saberblade. You're a regular Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-13 15:26:58
Hallelujah! I FINALLY found Masterpiece Starscream at that same Wal-mart Supercenter, the one with 2th Anniv. Prime and 32 Primuses (literally). After hearing how Megatron missed out I wasn't gonna let these seven masterpieces get away. I bouhgt one and got a SWEET DEAL on it. Rather than $59.99 like all Internet soucres say, It cost only $48.88 (minus tax)!

EDIT: Also, the weathering on this figure is unbelievably minor! I remember seeing images of this figure with the top of the jet painted nearly all-black/dark-gray, but it's really barely noticeable. In fact, the wetheing kinda IMPROVES the figure, making it superior to the upcoming Takara version. What I mean is, most of the serious weathering is painted metallic silver making him look more attractive and worth buying than Takara's toy.
Tyscream said,  - 2007-11-13 15:28:45
What?! Your so lucky!
Tyscream said,  - 2007-11-13 15:43:35
Hey, do you guys like alien vs. predator? The sequel is coming out soon. Sorry, off topic. I wonder when the allspark power movie toys come out in the US. ^ ~^
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-13 16:58:11
Hey Tyscream, you are aware of the fact that we can add to our comments by editing so we don't have double post.

But I wish that we had that option on all other sites. Some do, but most don't, which is a bummer.
Tyscream said,  - 2007-11-13 17:12:40
Yes Sabrblade I am. I should know because I've been on unicron.com lounger than you.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-13 18:34:06
Yeah Sabrblade, I agree the weathering is good. Also the standard walmart price point seems to be 48.88, that is how much mine cost. Plus Walmart seems to love 8s...
megatron said,  - 2007-11-13 18:48:32
yeeeess , i found the masterpiece starscream got him in my room now just lookin at him. very cool the depot manager said that each walmart will only get 12 to 20 of them and thats it no more to reorder ,so get yours, pay top dollar if you have to, i hunted for one week straight until today
the u.p.c # is 65356927551 or the item #is 000756246 happy hunting.
Tyscream said,  - 2007-11-13 19:02:51
Hey megatron, how worth getting is masterpiece Starscream? Is he tall and possible? I need to know.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-13 19:25:47
I know you asked megatron, but I can tell you he is very worth it Tyscream.

Getting him to stand on his own power takes getting used to, but his legs and arms have pretty good posability, and the detail is fantastic. The Jet mode is just amazing, the F-15 was never one of my favorites, but I still love the look of it (if only the horizontal stabilizers has working flaps). I think the colors are far better than the blue/green of the japanese version.

He is about a foot long in jet mode, which makes him less than a foot tall in robot, but the nice big wings and detail make up for it. He also includes cool things like missile pods in the chest, air-breaks, radar dish under the nosecone, thrust vectoring (even though, ironically, the F-15 does not have thrust vectoring in real life). plus you can attach either missiles or the null ray to the wings.

I don't usually spend $50 casually, but he was definitely work the money.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-13 20:38:37
Question. Is the Dr. Arkeville mini-figure that comes with MPSS in a similar size to the Diaclone pilots/Spike and Sparkplug mini-figures, or are they different in size?
megatron said,  - 2007-11-13 21:14:57
tyscream, masterdex pretty much explained it .i also have the japanese version hes about 13 inches jet mode and about 8 inches robot .he stands to prime at the chest .very posabile but i suggest keeping him on the stand he comes with .plus it looks like hes flying.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-14 12:20:53
Hey megatron, can you tell me if the US vesion is more sturdy, because I've heard of the flimsyness of the japanese version, wanted to know if the US was was tougher. I certainly don't feel like I'm about to break anything during transformation.
BOBO THE CIRCUS MONKEY said,  - 2007-11-14 14:25:57
Hey guys how much longer until they repaint him as Thundercracker? Sunstorm? Or remold him as Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet? I hope we get a new Masterpiece, like Grimlock, Ironhide, Ratchet, Shockwave, Galvatron, Astrotrain, Scorponok.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-14 14:50:28
You must be one of those overly-optimistic people, cuz it would take a MIRACLE to make all those into Masterpieces.

Also, when you said, "I hope we get a new Masterpiece," did you mean in the West, or just in general. Cuz Takara's already made Ultra Magnus (Prime redeco), Prime w/ trailer, blue Starscream (not Thundercracker), Megatron, and Skywarp (Screamer redeco).

And if anyone missed this, I'll ask again: Is the Dr. Arkeville mini-figure that comes with MPSS in a similar size to the Diaclone pilots/Spike and Sparkplug mini-figures, or are they different in size?

Hey Sabrblade, I ask questions here all the time but no body cares. So, just give up.
The Virus said,  - 2007-11-15 10:07:43
not sure .
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-15 10:18:59
Sabrblade, I would answer, but I honestly don't know. I've never even seen the diaclone pilots. I would venture the guess he is, but I really don't know. Doc Ark is small and there is no articulation at all, he is in a sitting position.

Also, never give up, pessimism never solves problems (being more cynical helps sometimes).
BOBO THE CIRCUS MONKEY said,  - 2007-11-15 12:54:56
Well Saberblade, that was just a wish list. And yeah I know about the Ultra Magnus. I try to pick up as many Japan esclusive figures every time I travel there.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-15 16:09:47
Tyscream, it never hurts to keep trying. Like Dex said, pessimism doesn't solve anything.

BOBO, I wasn't sure if you were aware of the other MPs. The way your comment was worded made it sound like you weren't. No offense. But yeah I sorta agree. I'd like to see other leaders from each series made Masterpieces. They've already made ones from Tatakae! (Prime and Megs) and The Movie (Magnus and Screamer - he was leader for 20 seconds). Now they gotta make the leaders from 2010 (Rodimus Prime and Galvatron), Headmasters (Fort Max and Scorponok), Masterforce (Metalhawk, God Ginrai, Grand Max and Devil Z, Overlord, Black Zarak), Victory (Victory Saber and Deathsaurus), Zone (Dai Atlas and Violinjiger), Battlestars (Star Convoy and Dark Nova, Super Megatron, Ultra Megatron, Star Giant), Op. Combination (Guard City and Battle Gaea, "Scrash"), G2 (Hero Prime, Laser Prime and Hero Megs), BW (Primal and Megs), BWII (Lio Convoy and Galvy), BWN (Big Convoy and Magmatron), BWM (TM Primal, Optimal OP and TM Megs, TM2 Megs), BM (Primal and Megs, Megs Head, Optimal Megs), RID (Prime and Megs, Galvy), Armada (Prime and Megs, Galvy), Energon (Prime and Megs, Galvy), Cybertron (Prime and Megs, Galvy), Movie (Prime and Megs), and Animated (Prime, Magnus, Sentinel Prime and Megs).

NO, I just kidding! Of course they can't do that many of those characters. Some would be pointless (the more recent characters) and some impossible (Fort Max and Scorpy). But, out of all those named, I'd like to see Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, Primal, and BW Megatron (but, then again, one could count Takara's BWX Robotmasters repaints Primal and Megs and MPs since they are to scale with the real MPs)
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-15 19:13:15
Also, the leader class movie Prime is almost to Masterpiece quality I'd say, except for some details.
megatron said,  - 2007-11-15 20:09:09
we need more die cast if feel like all im paying for is plastic and paint no metal some one send a letter to hasbro .i know that we got the titanium series but those were just remakes that are not full size. im just trying to start an argument .but no really more metal please . i dont mind paying more ,if movie prime had diecast i would pay a least 100 dollars for him.i know what you guys are thinking who can aford that but they can make variants, some plastic and diecast .lets think about that for 36 and half seconds .
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-15 20:18:53
Unlike you, Megatron, for some people money isn't that easy to come by. 100 bucks for movie Prime, NO DEAL. That's why I didn't get Ultimate Bumblebee, and the fact that it wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. For me, any figure over $65.00 is ridiculously absurd! Movie Prime was good as it was on its own. My only peeve is that its eyes glow yellow instead of blue. I'm tired of all these yellow-eyed Primes. What's wrong with blue eyes, Hasbro?
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-15 22:36:33
I agree Sabrblade, while Diecast is great, it is too expensive. I can't and won't pay the money for those figures. I am already in serious debt as it is with my college education, and I'm only in the first year. Maybe in the future when I'm more financially secure could I actually be willing to spend that much for a transformers figure.
DarkfireXIII@aol.com said,  - 2007-11-15 23:00:29
Well, I haven't read too much in to the comments people are making, but couldn't the allspark being pushed into megatron's chest conceivably *re-format* (Insert your choice of word here) megatron into galvatron?????? that'd be cool. and if this isn't an original idea, oh well, I'm sure it's been thought of....

Since the All Spark is supposed to give life, it killed Megatron because he was already alive and just took it back from him.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-16 09:30:23
I saw it as more of an energy overload because the raw energy of the cube reacted with the energy of his spark.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-16 10:16:40
I guess that makes more sense.
BOBO THE CIRCUS MONKEY said,  - 2007-11-16 13:28:07
I just want a Masterpiece Grimlock and Jetfire (Autobots) and for Decepticons Blitzwing and Scorponok (Decepticons) You know what would be cool? They would probably never do it though, but a G1 Marvel Straxus MP and a G2 Marvel Jhiaxus MP.
Sabrblade said,  - 2007-11-16 15:19:20
Now THAT is wishful thinking. I can't imagine how tall a MP Scorponok would be. It would tower over Michael Jordan if it were to show-accurate scale. :P
the quality of the Takara MP S.S. is of better quality
LORD MEGAMUSPRIME said,  - 2007-11-16 23:10:55
as like other transfans on tformers.com when i took the twist ties of My US MP S.S. his main wings had severe stres marks in the joints to convert him to jet mode when i did the wings both broke off and i never had this problem with Takars's MP S.S
Master Dex said,  - 2007-11-17 02:06:46
I don't know, I have never had a single problem with my US MP SS. The structure seems fine, no problems with the wings, and it doesn't feel like it is going to break at all when transforming. I might have gotten a good one.
BOBO AKA TYSCREAM said,  - 2007-11-19 13:35:44
Well, saberblade, if they went with the Scorponok from the show yes, but not from the comic. There he was just a tad bigger than Shockwave and the other commader type Autobots and Decepticons.
