Toyfare's Top Toy's List

Toyfare Magazine's curent issue (122) is their 10th anniversary issue. To commerate this ocasion they've listed the top 100 toys released in the last 10 years. There are quite a few highly detailed and/or extremely posable action figures on the list. The Marvel Legends and DC Direct seem to both be well represented in this list. As you would expect a few Transformers also made the list. Including
80: World's Smallest Transformers - Starscream
75: Alternators - Meister
73: Classics - Grimlock
52: Armada - Unicron
46: Classics - Devastator
43: Music Label - Soundwave
23: Star Wars Transformers - Millennium Falcon
17: Masterpiece - Megatron
1: Masterpiece - Optimus Prime

I'd like to express my appoligies and condolences to the Lukis Bros as their namesake didn't get the top spot. But, you have to admit the MP Prime really is a very good figure.

Man i really need to renew my subscription! I miss that magazine. I cant seem to find it anywhere around where I live. I miss it so.

Oh yeah i forgot to leave my 2 cents about the list. I think Unicron should have been higher on the list. but i agree totally with the prime choice.

it is great that transformers 9 spots i would have like to see some G1 in there but who cares prime got the number one spot!! hell yeah! :D

See I think megatron should be further up on the list. But at least he is in the top twenty.

I hardly ever agree with these lists. Classics Devastator shouldn't have made the top thousand. And there are better Alternators than Meister. And I can't seem to find movie Prime on the list. Whatever! We got number one, so that's all that matters.

I guess BWneo Unicron doesn't count.
I was surprised to see Classics Devastator because that thing really isn't that great and it's a repaint.

Toyfare's logic was 1: it had to be released '97 or latter, and 2: no ressiues of old toys. Hence no g1 toys. As for Classics Devestator, well G1 is out, it was a better color scheme than Energon, and Energon Devestator was never avialable as a set. So, to use the Energon one would mean 5 spots on the list not one. I think we can all agree that the Energon Constructicons don't each deserve their own spot on the list.

Classics Devastator falls apart even easier than the scramble city combiners, has 2 sets of 2 identical robots, isn't really a good homage to the original Devastator, and lacks the functionality of the original combiners. Classics Devastator is nothing special or particularily notable. It isn't what people wanted, and it just has a faulty design.

I'm kinda surprised that more imports didn't get on the list. For example, it seems whenever you are on some sort of site, such as eBay, and you are seeing the list of TF series, they tend to use Big Convoy as the character chosen to represent the Beast Wars. That being said, Big Convoy was also in some magazine just recently before the movie came out because the magazine was sort of recapping the past 20+ years; I would have thought these types of things would have risen Big Convoy's interest.
