Michael Bay commented today on his website about the IMAX and DVD releases of Transformers (2007).

He had this to say:

"IMAX and the DVD

I saw the IMAX print and it is awesome! It is the future of cinema to see movies in this format. I'm going to see Tranformers one last time and get ready to gear up for Transformers 2. I added two minutes of stuff for IMAX that will never make into any DVD's. There will never be an extended edition.

About the DVD. I like the two disc set. I has all the extras that the others don't have. It is the definitive edition of Transformers. It really breaks down how we made the movie.

Anyway hope you like the IMAX print!

Bay"

The extra stuff in the IMAX won't be on the DVD? I don't like that, good thing I am planning to see the IMAX movie this weekend, but still, how can the extra 2 minutes not be on the DVD?

Calm down every body! Not that bad. The only thing I want to see is the OptimusPrime kills Barricade scene.

I wish I could make my own transformers web site.
Knight wing said,  - 2007-09-18 16:58:03
You could. All you really need is a server, a way to get people to visit your site, and a reasonable stream of "new" information.

What do you mean server? How would I be able to be typing now with out a server, or PC? Now I've been seeing free web site and make your own free web site ads but I don't trust em. What if they make me give my parent's credit card numbers or some thing?
Jumpercliff said,  - 2007-09-18 17:56:11
I'd definetly visit your site, and I may just see the IMAX version of the movie Oct. 2nd.

There's a differnece between a server and a PC. I admittedly know very little about computers, but the single PC you currently use wouldn't do for what your invisioning. You'd need something more powerful. And yes, you very likely would need a credit card for a "free site". I belive they are free for the first year with a multi year commitment.

If you don't own your own server you need a host that will put your site on the internet. Places like Yahoo and Geocities are good for this for free, I never had to give them any information I don't believe. You see, the problem with free web hosting is, your site will have a millions ads all over it, unless you pay for better hosting that will compensate and remove the ads.

The short definition of a server is, a server is what your PC connects to when you go on the internet. All the internet is is thousands of servers connected together, and each server has hundreds of computers connected to them. Websites are made on computers and then uploaded to servers so others connected to them can see them. Free webhosting sites like Geocities just upload sites for you, but they will tack ads onto in if you don't pay for there "pro" service.

So owning your own server is nice, or at least having direct access to one. Almost all companies have there own batch of servers to get better internet connection. Whatever your internet provider is, your just connecting to their server to get online. As a matter of fact your internet service provider might be able to offer web hosting to you, I know for a fact Comcast does. Since you or your parents in Starscream's case are paying for their internet already, you'd get good quality web hosting probably.

So yeah, if your ISP offers webhosting, then go there instead of free web hosting sites. Now the only problem is, do you know HTML, the language of the internet, there are ways to make sites without knowing how to use HTML code, but learning HTML is a good idea, you can use it for almost anything on the internet. (If you go to edit, view source in your browser, or view then page source, depending on browser, you can see what this page looks like in HTML).

Very confusing tale you told me Master Dex. Ha ha ha! Just kidding. Thats a lot of confusing untrustworthy things to remember, I'll just say quits on it.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-09-19 10:10:36
In a nutshell why I am not running my own website today... I don't have the time for all of that. Plus I'm a little ragged around the edges when it comes to HTML code, or programming in general (I have to take a programming class in college right now using a language called Matlab, which is designed for engineering, but so far I can't stand it... I'll be more interested in graphical design programs like Catia).

I do however use Comcast (my ISP) to upload picture files and such when I don't want to hotlink other people's stuff without permission, which is useful, but I don't have the time for a full site.

Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-09-21 19:39:57
hawkeysol, did you record the new scene on youtube?
Darth Servo said,  - 2007-09-21 20:30:49
Don't worry about the extended stuff not being on the DVD. Thats just what hollywood types do to encourage buying multiple versions. The extended material will probably all be on the boxed set released after the series is completed. ;-)
Master Dex said,  - 2007-09-21 20:43:06
Ah, Darth Servo, I see what you mean, and it makes sense.

Once all 3 movies are done and out, there will definitely be a boxed set. It would make sense to put everything onto that set.

Unicron.com is very boring. I only stay here to talk.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-09-21 22:18:16
Starscream, if you find none of the topics interesting, what do you stay to talk about? I don't quite see the point in making a comment to say this site is boring you, a tad bit off topic and unnecessary. I don't have a problem with it though, I'm just pointing it out.

On another topic, I'm going to see the movie in IMAX tomorrow, I'll make a comment about it afterward. Quite an endeavor too, I have to go a little under 100 miles to a City that has an IMAX theater. Good thing I found a friend with a car and interest to see it.

Don't get excited about new footage. They are all extra shots of human scenes that you might not even notice.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-09-22 09:24:44
Hey guys, I had a cool dream last night when there was a building or some thing where every one on unicron.com went to to do stuff. I remember seeing Knight wing, Jumpercliff, Master Dex, and Chaos Bringer there (not that I know what you guys look like.) Cool huh?
Master Dex said,  - 2007-09-22 13:01:24
Even if the extra footage isn't something amazing, seeing the movie in IMAX will be the big thing for me. I don't get to see IMAX movies very often.

That's an interesting pseudo experience Starscream. I've had thoughts like that about message board communities I've belonged to in the past. I'd be the cool looking guy with a duster jacket (lol, well, that's my online persona that I sometimes project... I'm actually not that interesting).
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-09-22 13:55:29
How about we do that MasterDex?
Master Dex said,  - 2007-09-23 13:33:49
Do what exactly though Starscream, a message board, well we have one (technically), as for real life meeting places, that is unlikely.

On another note, I saw the IMAX movie yesterday, it is definitely more awesome on that giant screen. The extra footage was indeed just more stuff with humans in it (like Sam picking up his friend before the lake scene, the cop showing the anti-drug video, and Agent Simmons doing a retinal scan of Sam's eye), so sadly, no extra robot footage, and still no word on Barricade.

I still think if Barricade's death was ever made, it could be a 'deleted/cut' scene (not extra footage that would be used), and they decided not to use it because they wanted to reuse Barricade in TF2.
