Zap2it reports that  Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will be joined by Ehren Kruger to write the sequel to the Blockbuster hit Transformers (2007). Ehren Kruger's writing credits include Scream 3, Reindeer Games, The Ring, and The Brothers Grimm just to name a few.

UnderGroundOnline has conducted an interview with Scott Farrar from ILM.

Here is a little sample of the interview:

"The many pieces of Optimus Prime:

Trying to describe the various moving parts, Farrar grabbed one of the original Hasbro toys, Optimus Prime, and revealed that, "This little guy has 51 pieces. Our Optimus Prime has 10,108. So with all those pieces, every one has to be built, modeled, painted, connected, attached to the underlying skeleton so all the pieces move together, and that takes a lot of computer power to do, and a lot of talent here at ILM to get the level of complexity and the layers so the stuff looks right."

That Bumble Bee is amazing. Simply amazing. I wonder how old this boy is?

Apologies Jumpercliff, but I believe Ultra Magnets is referring to the word "sequal." The correct spelling is actually "sequel." <-- I already can't wait; I'm counting down the days...may Megatron rise again June 26, 2009!!!

What?

Wow! I had more spelling errors than that. Sorry guys.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-05 12:59:08
Transformers 2 has been guaranteed for a while now. Speilburg and Bay already signed on weeks ago. This is just saying that the same movie writers are going to write the next script. Kurtzman and Orci rock, they're writing the TF movies and Star Trek, hehe.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-05 13:57:43
Thanks for telling us something we already knew Master Dex.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-05 14:04:33
Well, you asked Starscream, maybe both the question and answer were unnecessary, but the question came first.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-05 15:15:04
Your very confusing Master Dex. But I already knew that, so I don't care. And your a nerd. ^_^
Knight wing said,  - 2007-10-05 16:49:19
I'd bet that most teen/adult toy collectors would admit to being a nerd SS/Ty. I know I do. :)
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-05 17:21:42
Knight wing, a nerd is a VERY smart a#s person, such as Master Dex. I am a geek, a Transformers, starwars, Lego, Poke'mon, Naruto, comic, G.I.Joe, Alien vs. Predator, scary movie, Ben 10, video game, girl loving GEEK. Thank you Knight wing.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-05 17:49:50
A smart @$$ is a smart @$$ (I don't feel like that should be censored.. but I know the age range) it doesn't have anything to do with nerds, I'm actually a cynic, some can see that as being mean or being truthful. I'm also a huge sci-fi geek, which includes TF.

What I am not, is a person who holds grudges, I don't get mad, unless someone deserves it, and only a handful of people have ever fully angered me, trust me it's not good.

So I don't know if you have a problem with me or not Starscream, but if you do it doesn't bother me and I am going to ignore it or play around with it for amusement, whichever comes first.

And actually there is a difference between nerd and geek, most of us here are geeks who have an intense interest in certain subjects whatever they may be. Nerds are technically people who are overly interested in math and science, at least by my definition, and if you look at it that way, I am both a nerd and a geek. I go to an Aeronautical College, studying Aerospace Engineering, I think the physics of air and spacecraft in flight are some of the coolest things, I examine the engineering of the robots transforming in the movie to the point where I know how Optimus Prime's transformation works, and I thought up a design for a movie Jetfire that is just as complicated as all the movie bots.

So in that light, you can go ahead and call me a nerd Starscream, but don't think that means I am a smart a** (is that really that bad?), I'm just cynical and will see the world for what it is.

I'm a sci-fi geek too! Master Dex! And take a joke ya big long paragraph typing baby! ^~^
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-05 18:06:12
Considering I mentioned that I am not bothered by taunting, I would say I did take the joke, I just like to talk.

Any good person should like sci-fi. I focus more on futuristic space travel stuff (i.e. Star Trek, Star Wars , etc.) but I like other things too. I could make a list of things I like but that would be another long paragraph, muhahahaha!!!!

New note, Masterpiece Starscream is available in America (Wal-Mart actually) on October 15th, I am planning to get one not only to have Starscream, but a 12 inch long F-15 fighter jet. Nothing like a turbojet deflagration engine... well except a Scramjet... but an F-15 would probably be torn apart by the hypersonic speeds... if it could ever get close enough to mach 5 to activate the scramjet..
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-05 18:23:12
Same here Master Dex. Can we please stop fighting, I need to eat dinner! Its 7:23 when I was typing this where I live. Bye!
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-05 19:14:23
I wasn't fighting, I was playing. Anyway yeah, no problems.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-05 19:55:41
You call that playing? That "game" had you type a 5th of a page paragraph I never read! Weirdo. ^_^
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-06 01:17:33
That's too bad, nothing I said was bad or derogatory in any way. It was either informative or interesting, perhaps you can go back and read it sometime if you want.

I love the school I go to right now. So many people here like similar things that I do. In high school I could barely find another person who liked Transformers even close to as much as I do. Here there are so many that can appreciate it. Although I am still way far more into it than a lot of people I've met at this school. That's why I come here to talk to you people.
Knight wing said,  - 2007-10-06 07:28:29
Sometimes people like you make me wish I'd stayed in collage Master Dex. Sometimes. I went for mechanical engineering. To be honest, I was just plain bored of school by the time I got there and didn't really want to it anymore. As it turns out, I really enjoy labor intensive work.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-06 08:42:28
Hi every body! You know who's back! Hmm, it seems Knight wing and Master Dex have begun a new comment conversation. I'm only 12 years old and I already have plans for my life. I'll be going to college for filming. I want to be a film maker. George Lucas encouraged me from his movies, surprisingly Transformers did as well. I'm glad you guys started this conversation.

In twenty minutes I'll watch the new Ben 10 episode on Cartoonnetwork, then later I'm going to a mini comic sale in my town. There was one a couple months ago too, their really cool.
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-06 11:06:13
George Lucas inspired so many people about so many things. The man is a true genius. I know just as much Star Wars stuff as Transformers. It is amazing that the basics of the hyperdrive concept make sense, although in reality don't work as well as something like warp drive. Then again, George Lucas only called it hyperdrive, he didn't design how it worked, that was someone else (in that regard Gene Roddenberry didn't design how warp drive worked either, Miguel Alcubierre did).

Yes, if you asked me I could detail how warp drive works. It's no surprise I am going into a career of designing and making spacecraft. I could go on, but enough of that.

Yeah Knightwing, I have interest in Mechanical Engineering too, propulsion systems are a big thing with me, but overall I knew that my place was to make the overall spacecraft (Astronautical Engineering to be specific). I guess you just really need to be into it, I have a lot of inspiration to go on, it's not really just a career to me.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-06 11:13:10
I'm back!
Knight wing said,  - 2007-10-06 14:45:26
Truth is, I just wasn't cut out for college life. I'm more than smart enough. I was even in the honors program. None of that means anything if your not motivated to do the homework. When I did the work, I got As or Bs. When I didn't it was Ds and Fs. After two years of up and down grades with no real reason to take college more seriously, I decided to stop spending money on an education I apparently didn't really want anyway.
Starscream/Ty said,  - 2007-10-06 14:45:37
Um, hello? I'm back..
Master Dex said,  - 2007-10-06 16:04:37
Yeah, it is never a question of if you can do it. That is always possible, definitely in your case. While the actual work is no fun for me, I can do it and pass (I was a straight B student in High School).

What really matters is what you want to do. Definitely can't go into a field if you don't really like it. While it is true that Engineers do make good money and can have a good life, and I am interested in that, it is not my motivation to become one. I know I really want to be able to further the advancements in space travel. I am just fed up with NASA and how slow they are going. They could do so much better, mostly it is the lack of funding from the Gov't (Iraq War mainly). So yeah I'd say I have motivation, I just have to do the hard work.
Knight wing said,  - 2007-10-06 21:24:24
That's cool. I hope you go on to do well.
