No not the original 1986 film, were talking a whole new movie here! Thanks to the good folks over at Comics2Film for the scoop that Cartoon Network will be kicking off the new animated series "Transformers: Animated" with a full length movie called "Transformers: Transform and Roll Out!". This new animated film will premiere on Wednesday, December 26th at 8 pm. So set those Tivos or VCRs, sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy the show!

Cartoon Network describes the movie as the following:

"Optimus Prime and his small crew of Autobots come into possession of the AllSpark, a powerful Cybertronian artifact that attracts the attention of their long-forgotten enemies the Decepticons and sends them crashing to a strange and distant planet known as Earth.

"Set on Earth in the near future in Detroit, the alien Transformers are thrust into a world populated by humans and automatons. As visitors to Earth, the Transformers -- Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Prowl, Bulkhead and Rathcet-- work in the human world, interacting with the "natives" in exciting and humorous ways. Transformers Animaed has been created to showcase the heroic Autobots working together to battle the evil Decepticons and save Earth with kid-relatable plot lines filled with humor, distinctive character personalities, and dynamic action."

And in the "Very Old News I've Been Sitting On For A While" and i stress "OLD"  Category:

If you haven seen this already you should check this out.  Edmunds Inside Online has a very interesting article about the Bumblebee 2009 Camaro. You'll learn some things about the car used in the production of the movie. like, the fact that under the Camaro shell the car is actually a just-discontinued, Aussie-made Pontiac GTO. They also have some really cool photos of the interior of the actual car used in the film. check it out here.

This December 26th? Awesome!!! I'll watch it. The day after Christmas is a nice touch. I thought it would be aired in 2008? Well, does any one know the release date for the animated figs?

Yup that would be this year (2007). in all fairness though, you were correct in assuming the series it self would air in 2008.

Isn't this a rumor?

Plus, I hope this series is as dark as Teen Titans or the newer TMNT series are.

EDIT: Nevermind. This is the real deal. Other sources confirm its debut.

The good news to me is that now that its going to debut a lot earlier than the toyline's release, I can choose who I want to buy from this series. Though I may just end up getting the show-only characters like what I did in the Energon and Cybertron lines

i assure you Sabrblade i would never post a news item without confirming details first. Otherwise i would give the "Rumor/take with a grain of salt" warning. :-)

EDIT: nevermind i see you have made an edit of yourself.

Oh the joys of the almighty EDIT button. Why can't all other sites have this same ability?

Well, as a result of this good news, we won't be caught in the crowded antics of "day-after-Christmas" sales.

So does anyone know if it'll air in Canada as well since we don't have Cartoon Network but have Teletoon.

Good question! I tell you what i'll do some investigation and as soon as i (or if someone beats me to it) get an answer it will be posted here. so stay "tooned" for further details.

Well Human Error, it is made by Cartoon Network studios. I don't see how it would get on some other channel. If theres no commercials on that channel around December probably not. Sorry big H. Maybe you could get some animated figs in March. ^_^ Oh wait that was the other guy! ^_^ I'm so dumb!

cartoon network network pretty much only simulcasts their shows when they've been sitting in the vault rotting for awhile. They do this very much on boomerang. However, all is not lost. They've gone into the habit of offering shows online, and you probably could pick it up on there.

theres that or if all else fails when they come out you might be able to get them on dvd

Yep.

But anyway, to be on topic, this will be a very good after-Christmas treat. For those who live outside the US, until any other info is confimed, your best bet is to watch it online once it has aired in the US.

But I wonder if these first episodes that are used for this "movie" will actually link up as a whole, or if the beginnings and endings of each episode will be obvious to spot, like in the Armada "movie".
