Dealer Info!

Posted by:

Sorry for the teaser!  No, this post is not an update on the dealer (Bigbadtoystore) for our soon to be fully unveiled Accessory pack #6!   What it is, is another update to our 1988 section, viewers can now find an all new character page for the G1 Powermaster Mercenary: DOUBLEDEALER or just "Dealer" if you're an IDW continuity buff!

If you're hoping for more info on *this*, stay tuned.  Good things (NEWS!) coming SOON!

One of my earliest Transformers, I thought a toy that could turn from robot to vehicle to eagle was particularly awesome at the time. I still do. No cartoon appearances was completely expected since he was released after the cartoon had stopped being created in the U.S. - Doubleclouder's appearance on Masterforce is good though.

No doubt, DD is a darn fine toy. Absolutely top notch by G1 standards!

Clouder! he was awesome ( and a bit of a jerk) in Masterforce. He started off as a Con tricked the Bots into thinking he was on their side. He stole the blueprints of the their base and gave them to the cons who launched a full-scale assault, destroying the Bots' base.

But, since the Cons had abandoned him and left him to die in the Bots' base, Clouder decided to join the Bots and they eventually let him, once they regained his trust (which was rather quickly).

What's cool about Doubleclouder is that, while his toy was redecoed differently from the Doubledealer toy, his animation model's colors match those from Doubledealer! Just like the Decepticon Sparkdash/Firecons.

He was a bit dumb though in his Spotlight though - you'd think he would have realised he'd be found out and should have killed Hot Rod as soon as they found the Magnificence - the prize Dealer was accompanying Hot Rod for - instead of allowing Hot Rod to ask it a question and finding out about Dealer's betrayal.

But then one is expendable, the other isn't.

Not only that Bass, he should have remembered that he had a *flying* bird mode and simply transformed into it before plummeting to his death! :P

Well... this Dealer may not have been designed with the eagle mode. It was never shown or referred to. He doesn't have the same body in the comics as the toy so maybe he just didn't have it here.

Okay, voice idea for this one is......Dan Castellaneta as Doubledealer, Chris Elliot as Knok and Fred Tatasciore as Skar.

I was thinking more like Derek Stephen Prince or Mona Marshall (for Clouder/Doubleclouder). Take one look at the guy and you'll get what I mean.

Just took a look at him.

You're kidding, right?

The human, not the transtector. He's a total computer nerd!

Wait, you're talking about the Japanese version of Dealer, right?
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-03-19 17:59:07
Yes, Clouder! Not Doubledealer, Knok, or Skar.

I would do lots of things but not anything to get my hands on one of these again. I remember when I was a kid, I lost the back piece of the missle and talked my mom in to buying me a new one. Now they are both broke and pieces lost. Go figure I was one of those darn kids that never took care of my stuff. Now I cringe when i accidentally drop one of my Transformers. I handle them all with care now.
