More big ROTF news

Several new information regarding the upcoming movie sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, as well as its accompanying toyline, has surfaced in various places on the Internet.

First, we have an official release date for the ROTF toyline in Canada. Toys 'R' Us Canada's website has set up a countdown counting down the days till the Canadian date of release of the ROTF toyline at the Toys 'R' Us toy store chain. The toy line will be released to Canada's Toys 'R' Us stores on May 27, 2009. This could mean that the U.S. could be getting the the toyline near this time as well.

Next, two more new figures have been revealed at The Arker. The two of them are Scout class figures. One is an Autobot named Dune Runner and the other is a Decepticon named Scalpel. Dune Runner seems to be based off of the first movie toyline's Landmine figure, sharing his basic design and altmode, while looking different enough to be his own character. Scalpel, on the other hand, is pretty creepy, changing from a microscope into a bug-like robot. See both of them here.

Also, two lists have been found both at Yahoo! and USA Today that reveal a good majority of the main robot charatcers that are to appear in the Revenge of the Fallen movie itself. Though they claim to list all the characters, we know that there will be more, as evidenced by those seen in both the teaser and the theatrical trailers. Here the Yahoo! list and the USA Today list. Notice that Megatron is absent from both lists.

Speaking of Megatron, there has been a photo of yet another new Megatron toy for the ROTF toyline seen at TF08. However, this one's much different than any others that we've seen before. It somewhat resembles the new tank design for Megs, except that it's got these huge "wings" coming out of his back, his colors are tinted greenish, and he seems be either a Voyager or a tall Deluxe. Make of what you will of this figure, but check it out here.

I'm wondering if Scalpel and "The Doctor" are the same bot. As, they do bear a striking resemblance to each other.

I'm not saying that they're not. I'm saying that they COULD be the same bot, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

I was really eperiencing a certein triple changer(Blitzwing) vibe from that megatron, i mean wings, AND tracks are usually blitzwings thing, but its nice they have a traiple changer for the new movie besides combiners. and pesonally they should have a peceptor in the movie(just an opinoin)

That's a lot of info. I like the look of Scalpel. I'll be dogged if he's in the movie and played by Robert Englund.

Did anyone see the shot of Scalpel in the movie? If you look closely you can see megatrons hand holding Sam down.
