Michael Bay speaks info about ROTF

Here is a bit of info from Michael Bay about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in several articles at MTV.com.

In one article, Bay reveals that a certain character will be killed off in the film. This character shares a name with a character who was featured quite prominently in G1 season 3, and has had the name used in other series like Energon and Animated. So, while it would be wise to not get too attached to this bot, fans may still be upset by this decision to kill the off the bot.

Another article has Bay describing some of the movie's details. For instance, he say that there is no car chase in the movie (*gasp!*), but that there is a lot of different kinds of action throughout the film. He also mentions that several scenes were shot in IMAX, and that Devastator will be getting his own IMAX scenes.

A third article features Bay mentioning the total runtime of the film.

“It’s four minutes longer than the last one,” explained Bay, saying that the runtime was locked. “So, go figure it out.”

Which means that it's 147 minutes long. Two hours and 27 minutes total.

A fourth article as Bay talking about some of the robot charatcers in the film, including some of his favorites. The ones he describes are The Fallen, Mudflap & Skids, Devastator, Ravage, Sideswipe, and his most favorite, Bumblebee.

Finally, Bay has posted on the Shoot for the Edit forums that a brand new ROTF movie trailer will debut in theaters with the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine:

"Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said "It's awesome". He felt this movie was better than the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I'm going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks - no you are not invited, yet.

We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It's 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine. Talk to you soon.

Wait. Did you even read any of the above news? Jetifre isn't in this news post at all. The news bit with the clip where he says that line is a few posts down on the main page.

hot rod, did you not read the article? Micheal Bay openly states that wanted to kill off Arcee and that exactly what's gonna happen.

Arcee was in all three of those series. She was a main charatcer in G1, and her name was used for a character in Energon and a character in Animated. Never once in that sentence does it say that she was in the first movie. Besides, why doesn't one simply click the link and read the article like they're supposed to?

And I quote Bay: "You know what? I didn't like Arcee... so I kill her later, all right?"

BTW, I had corrected the spelling and grammar in that sentence.

@archer139: This isn't a speculation, this an article about Bay wanting to kill off Arcee. The only reason I worded that paragraph without saying her name is because I wanted people to click the link and read the article without me needing to spoil the name of who bites the dust.

Besides, those videos of Prime fighting have nothing to do with this news post. So, there is no need to speculate who dies in the movie when we know it's Arcee. Yes, there may be other casualties in the film, but this is about Arcee. Not Prime or Starscream. Arcee.

@Archer139:Well, if he's lying about Arcee dying, then that means what I said about G1/Energon/Animated character can't be true either. So, now you're back to square one, where there's no way of knowing who, if anybody, dies in the film.

@Brian: I think he means no vehicle mode car chase through the streets. That chase seemed to be one through buildings, and between bots in robot and vehicle mode, rather than just vehicle mode.

I don't believe a damn word Bay says! I feel like he is on Survivor when he is being interviewed, take everything he says and think the opposite, Arcee will be Fox's Cycle, and that there will be car chases, look at the trailer! Then again, if Arcee is formed by three bikes, then Chromia could be a part of here. Which would mean she'd be killed off too, so... we're right back where we started.

Chromia is the blue motorcycle with the unicycle robot mode.

When the exclusive footage for ROTF was on Bays homepage did anyone notice Blackout, or the fight between Megatron and Starscream on the building? You can also see what looks like Mixmaster on the bridge with the flag.
