'08/09 Update & Clean-up

Posted by:
Perceptor at 2009-04-22 12:45 pm   (site update)
Our 2008 and 2009 Transformers Sections has been given a number of updates and revisions.   I've added box pix for all Universe/Classics, Walmart Exclusive movie toys and cleaned up Animated listings.  Further, these items are linked in the database so they appear in our Sightings and Reviews sections.

The 2009 page looks better, but it still has the 2008 page's web heading.

Are you sure there's going to be a Deluxe Wreckage figure for ROTF? Cuz the green redeco of the 2007 Wreckage is Bludgeon, who comes packaged with Whirl.

Also, I think ROTF Skywarp and Ramjet are Voyagers, rather than Scouts.

Looking good, it's nice to see that the '09 is at last set up. Is there any way that you guys might add a Henkei section to the '09 and '08 section?
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-04-22 14:48:13
In time, I believe that all the series, U.S. and Japanese, will be added to each respective year.

Awesome! I can't wait for the Henkei figs to updated! If you guys would like, I could help with some of the galleries/images for the Henkei character pages. I don't own all of the Henkei figures mind you, but if there are any that you don't own I'd be more than happy to take some shots. Any way I can help?

No offense, but for Transformer collectors who are masters of their own web domains, the brothers can sometimes get behind on a few things.
lord megatron said,  - 2009-04-22 17:08:09
Well give 'em a little credit, I mean, I'm sure it's a lot harder than it looks, AND I'm sure that they have jobs to attend and families to feed so......priorities first, right? Right.
I've been a lurker on this sight for about 6-7 years now and though at times, they have got behind a little, they still (my personal opinion) have one of the best communities and databases I know. I mean, yeah you have the big ones like Seibertron.com and Tformers.com but still, Unicron.com isn't too far off.......
Perceptor said,  - 2009-04-22 22:30:13
>>No offense,

None taken!

>>but for Transformer collectors who are masters of their own web domains, the brothers can sometimes get behind on a few things.

While I am the "master of my domain" (I assume we're referencing Seinfeld, the greatest show of all time here, right?!)

Anyway, hell, if all the slacker Unicron.com site administrators would get off their duffs and start posting some news once in awhile, maybe we'd have an easier time keepin' up huh! :) :) This, BTW, is tongue-in-cheek, just givin' them a hard time. We're all lead very busy lives. And have our times when we can and can't make postings...

So JC, we need help, (as you so aptly point out) we're taking applications now for fanboys like us who want to keep Unicron.com abreast of all the latest news. If you want to take (some well deserved) shots at us, let me ask, do you think *you* have what it takes to keep up????????? Shoot me an e-mail and I'll sign you up. We'll see if you have what it takes! We can't have just Sabrblade (and DocWho) doing *everything* in the news dept. can we???

Nice to finally see the 2009 page up. I also love the new background for the home page.

i agree with perceptor 100 percent.
lord megatron said,  - 2009-04-23 12:09:05
I would LOVE to be an official member, but I don't think that I'm quite "Moderator" material. I couldn't keep up posting every day with school and all to juggle, HOWEVER, I would like to help a little with the galleries and character pages. I think I could put the smackdown on some of the undone CP's.
If you'll have me, I will do my best to bring Unicron.com's CP's and galleries up to date, that is, assuming that I own the figures of course!

Perceptor said,  - 2009-04-23 16:09:07
See! JC's not so tough when it means he might have to do some of the work! :) If you're interested in helping out, send me an e-mail LM.

I'd be honored to be a cog in the grand machine that is Unicron.com! I'm going to have to practice my snapshot skills before I start distributing pics. One minor problem, currently I only own a HP Photosmart 6.2MP digital, would this be of a high enough quality?
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-04-23 18:15:30
I'm still in high school as well. But I can find time to still visit and comment on the site. As for my news posts lately, I know I've been slacking, but the main problem is that there is simply too much news to post all at once and I haven't the time to post it all (nor do I enjoy making several small posts for individual news bits that are both tiny and relate to each other. I'd much rather put them all in one post). The weekends are probably my best bet to post really good, juicy info-type news posts.

The thing is, the weekend is the time of the week where there is the least activity on this site, and so hardly anybody gets to see what's posted over the weekend because new news that gets posted on the following Mondays bump down the weekend news, resulting in the weekend news being overlooked by visitors returning to the site after the weekend has ended.

I understand that our visitors have there own lives and like to use the weekend to get out of the house, but it would be nice to see more people stop by and hang around the site for bit.

Also, the main reason that such sites as Seibertron and TFW2005 get all the latest news so quickly is because they contain massive forums filled with thousands upon thousands of users posting brand new news 24/7. We at Unicron.com on the other hand do not have such a community of that scale and are limited to the individual admins that must find out this news as the other sites do and transfer that information onto this site. It's a big job, but somebody has to do it. And we admins are those sombodies.

sabrblade what grade are you in?
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-04-23 19:10:03
12th. Graduating this year, and then I'll have to deal with (community) college. Don't forget, I'm only 18, so I'm one of the younger admins here (but I'll be 19 in a few months).
starscreamer said,  - 2009-04-23 19:56:12
im 19 and like i said. i will also be graduating this year and then ill be attending community collage.
lord megatron said,  - 2009-04-23 20:32:42
I just turned 17 on the 3rd. I'll be graduating next year and then it's off to college.

lord megatron i thought you where in your 20's
lord megatron said,  - 2009-04-23 23:25:34
I'm not that ancient yet! I feel a lot older than I really am, and all my friends say that I look like I should be in my early 20's. LOL! But yeah, you all got me beat. Must be those hormone inhancers that their putting in the milk nowadays. I have some reviews over at my youtube account if you you'd care to take a look, unless you already have. They should give you the general idea as to who I am. Don't mean to advertise myself here, lol.

>>We can't have just Sabrblade (and DocWho) doing *everything* in the news dept. can we???

We could use some help in the news, but usually what Sabr misses, I pick up, and vice versa. It would be easier to have one or more people help us out.

I only noticed one mistake. I think that Wheelie is a Deluxe, and Scalpel is a Scout. Otherwise, very nice job! And I'd like to take some pics as well for the pages if possible, it would be fun to practice photography. :-D

>>"but usually what Sabr misses, I pick up, and vice versa."

Got that right man! You got my back, and I got yours.

>>"I only noticed one mistake."

ROTF Skywarp and Ramjet are Voyagers, not Scouts. And the title bar on the 2009 pahe uses to one for the 2008 page instead of its own.

>>Got that right man! You got my back, and I got yours.

Evident by your kick-awesome 5 consecutive news posts with a giant mass of TF news. :-D

>>ROTF Skywarp and Ramjet are Voyagers, not Scouts. And the title bar on the 2009 pahe uses to one for the 2008 page instead of its own.

I said I only *noticed* one. ;-p Good thing that it's just a few small mistakes.

Hey (sabrblade) how many Transformer's have you collected so far?
DocWho said,  - 2009-04-25 04:38:43
@Safeguard900

That is a question for a Hasbro Q&A session. Go on one of the message boards that has a Q&A, and when the time rolls around, post the question. It might get answered.

I personally think that it's because that color scheme is ugly, and would not look good on a voyager.

hello human error pt 2 aired get the page up now
Sabrblade. said,  - 2009-04-25 09:17:54
@starscreamer: A whole LOT! I've been collecting since Beast Wars. I've got TONS of Beast Wars figs, lots of Beast Machines figs, lots of RiD figs, four G1 reissues, two G1 bootlegs, a fair amount Armada, a fair amount of Energon, a fair amount of Cybertron, lots of Movie 1 figs, TONS of Animated figs, a fair amount of Alternators figs, and a few from some other TF toylines (i.e. 20th Anniv. OP, Music Label Soundwave, three Titaniums, etc.).

The only U.S. TF toyline that I don't own a lot of is G1.
