Does the shoulder cannon *have* to be on the same side as his 1985 original toy?

I think the original toy could place the cannon on either shoulder, but the fictional portrayals placed it on his left shoulder.

I think this one might be Reveal the Shield Perceptor, due to the rubsign on his back.

Either way, picking at least one of these guys up. Looks like a really nice mold.

although yello eyes is kind of odd compared to the new autobots have blue and cons have red eyes its a good throwback tog1. i cant remember offhand but i'm pritty sure that perceptor's sholder cannon can only be fitted to the rite sholder

I've got my Universe "Commemorative Edition" G1 Perceptor reissue on hand and the cannon can be swung onto either shoulder. Though, it seems to fit more comfortably on the right shoulder than the left. but it just *looks* more correct to have it on the left shoulder (even if it doesn't sit up all the way).

Oh, and he does have yellow eyes (which explains the eyes on this new figure).

I agree with Amy that the robot mode is a true work of art. I'm puzzled by the vehicle mode, mostly because its a halftrack when it seems a simple SUV would have sufficed, but I guess it's good to give him a slower vehicle mode than most of the other autobots. That, and if they'd done it as an SUV we would have been reminded of the failures of Universe Ironhide.

Actually they should recolor/retool the camera bots from TFTM Real Gear line for reflector. To me that would make more sense.

Well, with a Reflector, I hope they have the good sense, to make the middle camera chest-piece thing detachable, so Decepitcrazy collectors (such as yours truly) Would feel the need to buy them of them, to display a proper trio.
