*UPDATED* ROTF toys: Sideswipe, The Fallen, and a Starscream vid!

More images of upcoming ROTF toys have shown up at TF08.

First, there's a new image of Sideswipe. This image shows a good look at his vehicle mode from overhead. As we can clearly see, unlike the first movie's toys, his deco uses a Premium-esque metallic silver paint job to further enhance his resemblance to his movie counterpart.

Next are some more new images of The Fallen. Before, we deduced that this figure was a Deluxe class size. However, one of the images compares his size with the Legends class Optimus Prime figure. Judging by this image, he's too tall to be a Deluxe (unless he's like TFA Lockdown, who just has a very tall robot mode). So he's either a Voyager or a short Leader, it's just simply not that easy to figure out from that image. One thing we know for sure is that, with his legs stretched out, he's 24cm  tall. One may also notice that one images shows him bearing a Decepticon insignia. It is not yet known if he will actually be a Con in the film itself. Other images included are of the vehicle mode of the Audi R8 and the Constructicon shovel.

Plus, an image of Legends class Megatron in vehicle mode (from TFW2005).

Finally, a video review of Voyager Starscream has shown up on YouTube, which review the entire figure in both modes and compares it with Starscream of the past. Note, the Constructicon shovel breifly seen in this review is vien the name "Scavenger" by the reviewer. The official name of that charatcer is still not known, so do not use this as a source for his name.

More images of Sideswipe ans Starscream from TF08, showing them in both modes different angles and different lighting.

So... guess that puts to rest the issues we've been having over the Fallen character being a measly Deluxe. And he does look quite a bit better in these pics too. Looks like he was set up by someone who knows how to pose figures.

Oh yeah, I know this is completely unrelated, but have you guys noticed that Universe Cyclonus can perform a "target on" the way they did in the TF: Headmasters anime?

sabrblade if you will notice there is a strange x shaped scar on his forehead what do you think probably happend for the fallen to get that scar
Black Starscream said,  - 2009-02-09 23:25:59
That's in intricately melted scar. Might explain how he fell. Oh yeah, and is the shovel steamhammer?

Yes i noticed the scar. But I heard that it means that the product in the images is "not for sale". So there's a chance that that X won't be on the final product.

Still not a massive fan of the colouring on the Fallen. But it looks to me like he maybe has something hidden in his forearms? Not sure...

Love the look of Sideswipes alt mode though!! Cant wait to see his bot mode!

I think The Fallen looks decent, fits with the movie aesthetic. I kind of hope he will be on fire constantly in the film like his comic counterpart.

i hope its just a really tall deluxe i cant afford to buy a lot of voyagers and leaders

starscream said,  - 2009-02-10 17:51:10
what are pretenders
hot rod said,  - 2009-02-10 18:44:39
they are transformers using a human robot as a *suit to go undercover
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-02-10 18:57:47
No, they do not use human robots as suits. They use organic shells to...

Oh, just look here for the info:

I can't believe "The Fallen" is a Decepticon.
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-02-10 20:16:23
I said that we don't know if he is a Decepticon or not. They have just put the symbol on him so they could sell him under a known faction. Like what they did for Deluxe class Unicron in the TF: Cybertron toyline.
Black Starscream said,  - 2009-02-10 21:20:42
I think they could easily get away with making a "Fallen" or "Unicronian" faction. After the movie the faction would become well known. Up until classics it worked for Minicons, and recently, the maximals and predacons (not EXACTLY autobots and decepticons) are also seing self realization.

I'm not totally thrilled with the look of the fallen. He looks a little too much like a Bionicle for my tastes, but we'll see how it translates to film.

I am, however, excited for this new Starscream. When you do the side by side with the first movie Starscream, it looks like the designers just got lazy on him and actually brought their A-Game for this new one.
Jumpercliff said,  - 2009-02-11 16:03:58
Wait, EXACTLY what class is the Fallen?????
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-02-11 18:42:08
We don't know. It's too difficult to tell. He's either a tall Deluxe, a Voyager, or a short Leader.
