Garbage In/Out Discussion (continued), Wierd Al Tribute

Don't miss the latest new episode of TF Animated, "Garbage In, Garbage Out" airs today on CartoonNetwork.  Botcon '08 attendees were treated to a sneak preview of this show and we can tell you, it's a gem!

Next you've got to check out THIS VIDEO.  It's homemade, brilliantly set to Wierd Al's hit, "ebay and an appropriate way to pay tribute to one of our favorite recording artists.  Younger site visitors may not know, the Weird Al Yankovich song, "Dare to Be Stupid" was featured in the 1986 G1 Transformers movie, and he was (brilliantly) cast as Wreck-Gar, in today's new episode.  Bravo!  They couldn't have made a better choice for the casting.

'Weird Al' is more than an outstanding music talent, he's a comedy genius.  Actually quite literally, he was his class valedictorian and we find it amazing that he has been making us laugh for so long, since the early 80's before Transformers!

The "e-bay" video is particularly appropriate with all the 'black market' Transformers Animated figures showing up...  Last night I got "sniped" on a loose Energon toy I was bidding on... Doh!

You also have to watch his masterpiece "WHITE AND NERDY!"   What the heck, I drive a Prius and all my action figures ARE cherry! :)  Do you edit Wikipedia?  Dang I love this song!  You may also enjoy "Polka Power" and "Bohemian Polka" and especially, "Don't Download This Song."

You can continue the discussion of Garbage in - Garbage Out, which began in this thread, as well as your thoughts on the music genius of Weird Al Yankovic below!

Animated Wreck-Gar stands out as his own character and doesn't rely on the original Wreck-Gar to boost his popularity with fans - he earns that through this one episode alone.

In a way I am glad he is a one shot character. His copycat manner of speech would get tiresome pretty fast.

And Don't forget that "Velocity" also airs today in Canada. Which means we should be seeing it soon, later today on YouTube.

Actually, Al Yankovic and Frankie Yankovic aren't related.

Me too! I think everything about Wreck-Gar is 100% awesome!

Thanks Random person, correction made. I swear I saw a documentary on this guy years ago that stated they were father and son. You're absolutely right, Frank and Wierd have no familial connection. Sorry for the misinformation

Just over a half an hour before 'Velocity' airs, and for once, I'm awake to watch it!

In a very bizarre accident, I had Energon Grimlock/Swoop united as DinoKing or whatever his united form is called, sitting on my desk. My daughter (barely) bumped the desk, the figure fell off and the dino head of Grimlock snapped off in a very weird, unexpected (and unfixable) place. So, I've been keeping my eyes open for an Energon Grimlock. If you or anyone has a toy you'd be willing to sell me for a good price, LMK!

Animated is getting much more into what we wanted to see, instead of what most of what the first season was, Autobot super heroes with very little Cybertron and Decepticon in depth look. Now we have a lot of Transformers like Wreck-gar and Swindle, Shockwave, etc.

Don't forget Blurr, Scrapper, Mixmaster, and Omega Supreme. Just adding to your list.

You know what I just realized?? That one human isn't just a caricature of "Spike." It is the *REAL* Spike from the G1 cartoons! It's actually Corey Burton, who voiced G1 (adult) Spike doing his voice then and NOW! THAT's why the voice sounds so familiar!

Dang that's cool!
