The End Is Nigh!

Though we aren't completely certain as to whether or not Transformers Animated is coming to a close, I feel that it is necessary to say a possible "Goodbye" to(IMO) one of the best Transformers series ever conceived. So, ladies and gentlemen, for the happiness that this series has provided and all of the references that we thought that we'd never see, pause for this one moment and think long and hard that this may very well be it for Transformers Animated. I think '07 Optimus Prime put it best when he said, "It's been an honor serving with you". I'm really going to miss this series when it's gone. I still remember back when the first production art reared it's head into the TransFandom, I honestly didn't know what to say. Many spoke negatively towards the new series, saying that "It looked too childish" and I admit, I was a little scepticle too! However, over time I grew to love the series and the cast that it provided. So feel free to post your thoughts about this fantastic series for a possible last time.

Same happened to me. At first It seemed like it would be stupid and decided never to watch it. But then for some reason I decided to watch it just to see ho it was and I loved it. PLEASE DON'T CANCELL IT!

As good as the Animated series is(was) I still think that Victory was the overall best series. I was very upset when i saw the first sketches of Animated, because it did look too kiddy for transformers. In the end I liked all the little in jokes and references they made to the other series. And dont fret too much fellow Transfans, Im sure there will be another series to come along soon.

Hopefully, a follow-up series is already in the pipelines for the Hasbro crew. I still want my answers as to what happened to Waspinator and Blackarachnia as well as the true origins of Sari. With as good as Animated's story arcs have been I do feel that the direction in which it's heading is going to come off as a rather weak ending.

On another note, was there any particular reason as to why Transformers: Heroes was changed in favor of Transformers: Animated?
Overhaul said,  - 2009-05-22 16:17:25
I'm going to throw my own two cents in (and hope you all don't want to lynch my for it!).
I have never seen an episode of Animated. All I've seen has been a clip from the pilot episode.
Now I admit I was one of those bashing the art (and I still do think it looks to cartoony), but I've over and over heard good things about this show... so it's unlikely all of you fans of it are wrong. It must be good after all, and thus all I'll say is that it's on my list of shows to watch.
Now comes the part that some may not agree with:
I'm not so sure there should be another Transformer series.
Think about it: they keep going back and rewriting Transformers again. How many continuities do we have? 4 cartoon continuities, at least three major comic continuities (being a comic fan myself), and who knows how many other Japenese continities. Plus the new movie continuity. Maybe it's just me, but it diminished what came before when they come up with a brand new show that isn't a direct spin-off. Not to bash any show in particular, there is a good amount of talent out there when it come to the writing of some such shows, and at the same time, I'm excited whenever I hear about a new show. But... yeah, I think I made my point. Plus we have the current movie series going on that I'm positive we'll get at least one more movie out of (although I think Bay was talking about wanting to do 5?).
Although if they do make another show, I'm personally hoping for a redo of G1 with the same plot line and all, although with more consistent writing and better story telling, maybe up to the caliber of the production of Beast Wars.
McPrimus said,  - 2009-05-22 16:45:00
WOW, the G1 die-hard strikes again. Animated finally broke the streak of Japanese animation and far-out crazy story lines. Animated took what was best from the history of TF's, distilled it to a core story arc, and threw in more homages than you can count. Animated is the ultimate culmination of 25 years of TF history, and if you haven't watched it yet, it's time to buy some DVD's.

That said, I am looking forward to a new take on TF's. Personally, I would like to see something based solely on Cybertron, that doesn't involve a Pokemon-type "catch em all" search across the galaxy. Something more along the lines of the War Within comics using the mythology and characters from the movie series. They could even make G.I. Joe: Resolute-like movies every 6 months.

I am sorry to see another series come to an end, but as we keep seeing year after year, there WILL be another Transformers show, and it WILL be entertaining (how else are they supposed to sell the toys?).

this is a series that I will surely miss. No TF series until this one I felt that there was real attention to what the TFs are about. Sure some say it´s kiddy-like but the great character development,the story and the continuous nods to the whole Multiverse kept me watching every episode. If it weren´t for the fact that I Have a Moderate income I would have bought the entire toyline because despite some QC issues, the toys are top notch in design and truly something new and innovative. Animated has demonstrated that TFs are More than meets the eye (Cheesy line I Know, but it´s true).
Good Bye Animated and I hope CN at least makes soe of those spoofs that appear during commercials.

I'm going to be holding a "funeral service" on the Animated section of the TCC forums after Endgame Pt. 2 airs. Anybody who wants to comment in my thread there can do so, or post pictures of flowers or a tombstone (or even a coffin).

I do believe that its time for me to put my EPIC goggles on for one last time because things are about to get wild!
Skullgrin140 said,  - 2009-05-22 18:06:33
This just cant be the end, So much is left unawnsered and so much origins left to be told!
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-05-22 18:32:11
>>"How many continuities do we have?"

Well, the continuities are vastly numerous, but as for the amount of Continutiy FAMILIES, there are 7 known ones: G1 (Primax), RiD, Unicron Trilogy (Aurex), Movies (Tyran), Animated (Malgus), Shattered Glass, and Playskool's Go-Bots.

On topic:
I will be sad to see this series go, but I would be more upset if it ends with so many questions left unanswered, like:

* Where has the Female Starscream clone gone to after she blasted Prime?
** And what is her name? Her REAL name. Not some fanmade name or a pet name.
* What will become of the Dinobots?
* What will become of the Constructicons?
* Where's Wreck-Gar gone to?
* What is the fate of Soundwave and Laserbeak?
* What will become of Starscream's old body underwater?
* Will the Starscream clones ever get named on screen?
* Where's Lockdown?
* What will become of Blackarachnia and Waspinator?
* What is the whole truth behind Sari's origin?
* Why does Fanzome really hate machines?
** Meaning, when did his hatred for them start and why?
* What has become of the human villains?
* What will become of the AllSpark?
** Will all of its shards ever be found and put back together?
* Will Optimus ever rise to greatness?
* Will Sentinel ever get what he really deserves?
* How and why does Fanzone's car keep reappearing after it's destroyed constantly?
* Where's Swindle gone?
* Will Ultra Magnus ever recover?
* Is the Magnus Hammer ever going to be called its "Stormbringer" name in the show?
* Who voiced Brawn?
* Will Mayor Edsel ever speak?

These, and many more, are the nagging questions.

I'm sick and tired of all the secrets this series keeps from the audience. I was outraged by the amount of time we had to wait just to get an episode response to season 2's cliffhanger finale.

The last thing this series needs is more secrets. Enough with hiding the various truths already! Let this final episode be a grand revelation to all/most of the unanswered questions!

At first I thought I might like animated, but as the series went on, I thought it became rather juvenile. I mean, an episode with an immature little bratty girl as the villain. Another issue of mine was BB's immaturity. I really will not be sad to see it go. Besides, the new series, from the way it sounds, will be excellent. I hope the animation is better than animated.

Female Starscream's name is Lazerwave Dinobots/Constructicons/W.Gar will probably come at the end
Megatron has the Allspark pieces Probably all Autobots and Decepticons will battle in the end
U. Magnus will probably recover in the end Optimus will be leader, not Sentinel
Human villains, well-who cares???
Carion said,  - 2009-05-22 22:55:51
is it bad that I probably care more about animated than any of my family members?
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-05-22 23:05:40
>>"Female Starscream's name is Lazerwave"

I'M SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING THIS SAME LIE OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!

*ahem*

>>"Megatron has the Allspark pieces"

He doesn't have every piece. Remember, it split into a vastly uncountable amount of fragments.
Lord Megatron said,  - 2009-05-23 00:32:00
I wonder if Prowls new technique will lend a hand in the finding of the remaining pieces before he meets his unfortunate demise.

Fairwell TFA :(

Yes, it is Carion, as animated sucks.

(in my opinion, but it's still wrong.)
Primal said,  - 2009-05-27 19:24:09
Um, no offense Sabr but I think some of the questions you call "Secrets" really don't need to be answered... since some of them aren't that important or frequently asked.
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-05-27 21:42:10
In case you didn't notice, some of them were thrown in there as jokes. These ones are the ones that need answering the most:

* Where has the Female Starscream clone gone to after she blasted Prime?
** And what is her name? Her REAL name. Not some fanmade name or a pet name.
* What will become of the Dinobots?
* What will become of the Constructicons?
* Where's Wreck-Gar gone to?
* What is the fate of Soundwave and Laserbeak?
* Where's Lockdown?
* What will become of Blackarachnia and Waspinator?
* Will Optimus ever rise to greatness?
* Will Sentinel ever get what he really deserves?
* What is the whole truth behind Sari's origin?
* Where's Swindle gone?
* Will Ultra Magnus ever recover?
* Who voiced Brawn?
Primal said,  - 2009-05-28 09:14:35
Well I can answer some of those, for one Female Starscreams actual name will be printed in the Allspark Allmanac so that should be answered soon. And apparentley Derrick Wyatt said on his twitter that Brawn didn't have a voice.
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-05-28 15:44:55
Did he forget that we heard Brawn make grunting and straining noises during that fight scene? Someone had to make them.
Primal said,  - 2009-06-01 23:57:41
Well that's what Wyatt said, and even if he did have a voice, he was probably some guy in the studio or someone else who no one really need to know about. Oh and Female Starscream is Slipstream.
