'Toy List' Unveiled!

Posted by:

About 6 months in the making, we're finally unveiling a new section of our site, "Transformers Toy List".  (Though there's some debate on what it should be called.)

The list is sort of a digested version of the sightings and reviews sections, without the sightings or reviews functions, but with lots more bells & whistles, graphics, and features designed to make our "master list" easier to read and to navigate.  (When perusing a list of all Transformers, there's a lot to take in!)

Of course we hope this will be a "go-to" TF release reference for the fandom.  Please give your thoughts in the comments below.

Impressive. Most impressive, indeed. Though, it kinda reminds me of Seibertron.com's Vector Sigma Database. But still cool.

However, I did notice some things that could use some improvement.

* While looking through it, I would think that a lot of the figures in the "Misc." category, starting with Beast Wars, wouldn't need to be in that anymore since, by that time, size classes for them had been created (i.e. - Super, Supreme, etc.).

* A few of the G2 figures were actually released in 1992.

* I personally think that the two Universe lines ought to be separated. While they both share the same name, they really don't go together.

* Same goes for the Movie and ROTF toylines. While they DO kinda go together well, they're still separate lines. It's like how you've got Beast Wars 10th Anniv. separate from the main Beast Wars line.

* The "G1 Reissues" section ought to be called "Commemorative Series".

* The Playskool Go-Bots page is severely lacking in its products.

* The 20th Anniv. Optimus Prime was actually marketed under the G1 label, rather than the Alternators label.

* Also, a good amount of the 2009 Animated figures aren't schedule for release until 2010.

Overall, this is awesome, and can become more awesome even still.

Do you have any plans to incorporate Japanese toylines, European toylines, and convention exclusives?

As for any more help on each series, check out this page: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Series
I personally worked on a good amount of this page myself.

Interesting, and thanks. Starting a forum thread for some of these organization issues here:

The actual database behind it I've been really using for years, behind the sightings and reviews sections. Now we're (finally) exposing it as a more pure toy reference.
