The Ultimate Armada & Mini-Con Collection

As fans of the Transformers, there are many of us who are collectors. We like to collect various merchandise and products of the Transformers franchise. Each collector collects for different reasons, and in different ways. But there are certain kinds of collectors who belong to a specific category of collectors known as "Completists". Completists like to obtain every single version (or nearly every version) of a specific kind of Transformers product. Whether it's of a certain character, faction, subgroup, size class, an entire toyline, etc., completists strive to have them all.

A certain Italian Transformers collector, by the name of Rikkomba, is one of these completists. His goal: Obtain every single figure of the Transformers Armada toyline. However, things have changed since this goal was set. Now, his collection of what started out as a completion of the Armada toyline has grown to become a collection of every single Mini-Con ever released! This is no longer limited to just Armada, but now it has grown to include Micron Legend, Energon, Superlink, Cybertron, Galaxy Force, Classics, BOTH Universe toylines, Henkei!, Movie, Shattered Glass, RobotMasters, knock offs, store exclusives, convention exclusives, any other kind of exclusive, and Lucky Draw items!!!

Basically, if it was sold under the Armada label, he got it. If it was sold under the Micron Legend label, he got it. If it incuded a Mini-Con/Micron, he got it. If it was redecoed and/or remolded from an Armada/Micron Legend figure, he got it. Regardless of rarity and expense, Rikkomba has assembled what may be the largest Armada/Mini-Con collection ever assembled!

And guess what! He's put it up for sale! Now some lucky, rich dude (or dudette) has the chance to own the biggest Armada/Mini-Con ever, consisting of over 600 Mini-Cons and over 150 larger figures. Just hop over to Ebay and check it out. But first, check out the bulk of his collection here to get a good look at the individual items. And see the auction that lists every item in the set (including the highlights) here.

On behalf of, I salute you, Rikkomba, for all your hard work on building this collection to be what it is today: a true piece of Transformers history. And good luck on your Ph.D.

(Jaw Dropping) HOW MUCH MONEY DOES THIS GUY MAKE that he can afford these?????????????
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-08-07 10:53:28
It's not like he bought these all at once. He spent years and years collecting these, since 2002. Having to sell a good amount of his Beast Era (U.S. and Japanese figures) and RiD collection to get the money for these. He ended this collection back in 2008, and is now parting with it so he can leave Italy to pursue his Ph.D.

om................................................................. i blanked out there 4 a sec anyway this dude needs 2 go in the tf hall of fame

Of all things to be a completist in, one of the worst TF lines ever.Props to him for realizing it and that he's selling it.
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-08-11 08:35:43
Um, he's not selling it because he thinks it's a bad toyline or that he doesn't like it (otherwise, he wouldn't have started the collection in the first place). He's selling it because he needs to leave Italy to pursue his Ph.D.

Besides, there's a LOT of rare, expensive, and valuable figures in there. Those Lucky Draw figures must cost a fortune. And don't even get me started on the Japanese store exclusive and contest exclusive Microns.
chrombot said,  - 2009-08-11 14:39:49
Rare figures aren't automatically good figures. Get started on them, I won't be impressed.
Sabrblade said,  - 2009-08-11 17:29:36
Well, some people do like these kinds of figures. Everyone has their own opinions on what figures they like. Besides, he's got a few other non-Armada/Micron Legend molds in there. Like Universe Hot Shot/Henkei! Hot Rod and RobotMasters Doubleface.

HI buddies!
Thanks for the highlight in the news and for your comments.
I confirm that I am only parting with my collection because of my PhD. And... no, I still like Armada, and I am proud to have reached this level of completeness. As for money, well, I just focused. I stopped buying TFs from other toyline, or I just resold any new purchase. Something like that. Lucky Draws requested much more work, but it was worth it. And I was a student working part-time here and there, so... motivation was needed, too, indeed.
Thanks again to everybody here and to all!

Ron and Sandy - Love how the dancing ltgihs of the Golden Gate Bridge form a canopy over the engaged couple. The yellow/orange glows contrast strikingly with the blues, greens, and purples of the surrounding area. The entire photo collection is most elegant and memorable.
