Geocities, a popular free web hosting service of the earlier days of the internet, officially closes its doors today  -  and with it, a whopping 26 Transformers sites we've been linking to in our links section for many years.  A sad goodbye to these fan sites, formerly in our links section, from the internet's "classic" years...   (Fortunately, a lot of them are cached at

* A Universe of Transformers
* Arachnid Predacon Nebula
* Beast Wars Ultimo
* Chee-Toys Transformer Art
* David Lau's Beast Wars Page
* Elvin Pena's Transformers Page
* Gasketx's Transformers Page
* Joey's Beast Wars Site
* KIDkoRRuPt Custom G1 Car TF
* Living Dreams
* Mangohero's Transformers shop UK
* Predacon Central
* Rework's Transformers Site
* Riflos Renegades
* Ruination's Realm
* Skyfire7's Page
* The Digital Matrix
* The Quest
* The Transfool
* The Transformers Shrine
* The TransMasters Fan Club
* Transformers Collector
* Transformers on the Shelf
* Transformers Realm
* World's Smallest Transformers
* Xcalabur's Lair

Do these bring back memories for anyone?  If these sites look silly/old/homemade to anyone, just remember: most of the internet looked like this back when these sites got started.  (including!)

None of the links are working for me.

That is because Geocities was taken offline today...

EDIT: Oops, never mind, those are archive links, I wasn't aware of that. I have no more stupid wisdom to impart then, lol.

Hey, if any of you former webmasters are viewers of, please know you have a home here. We're always looking for people who would be willing to contribute to the coolness of

I never knew any of these sites, but its still very sad for me. There were many instances when I looked something up on google images, and I saw geocities as part of the site, so certainly I must've visited at least 1 or more.
Does anyone per chance know if any of these sites had a page that detailed all the different original megatron releases and all the g1 prime variations?

Aww, not the Digital Matrix. That place was cool.

Can anyone think of some nice farewell quotes from TF fiction for this moment?
Master Dex said,  - 2009-10-27 12:15:10
Not necessarily a farewell quote but...

Till all are one!

This is sad news indeed.
I used to post at a Transformer fan site some years ago that was originally called TransformersOnline. It was a small site, although the webmaster did invest in his own server and such, so maybe a step above the normal geocities site. I wound up becoming a forum moderator, even being given access to the server for site updating purposes. Then one day, the site went under. The webmaster didn't pay for it I guess. After us Moderators failed in our attempts to contact him, we created our own site based on it (I had much of the site content saved on my own computer for site improvement reasons), basing at geocities under the name of UltimateCybertron. We still used the old forum, since it was the lifeblood of the site, and the main means reasons for the new site. Ultimatly though, interest wanned, and the forum itself was shut down by the providing service, as they stopped offering forum services. And none of us mods were interested in running a site.
Yes the geocities UltimateCybertron page stayed up... until yesterday apparently.

So for me, such sites hold a special place in my heart.
As for a farwell quote, how about this:

"They lived as fansites; they died as legends. Let their sparks join the Martix, the greatest of Cybertron."

Fred's Variations page was a constant resource for me...Guess I should try and see if I can download the site from the archive. Does anyone know if they can grab stuff from his site and add it to a link? It was a pretty comprehensive variations/details site I felt.

Hey! Turns out that my site was still linked as a geocities site, even though I've had a .com for years now. We got it fixed and it's back on the links page (thanks to Brian L.). Transformers on the Shelf still lives folks.

So yesterday I was trying to look up info the Ultra Magnus I have (which aside from the inpainted heads and plastic wheels, has unchromed legs and plastic feet). I looked it up on google images and i found something about it on, where someone else was asking about it. One person's response was a link about all the different Magnus variants, and sadly it was on Geocities.
