Unite For The Universe Optimus Prime and Megatron

Forum memeber PTaros has stumbled onto some interesting images:

"Jason Canty from 4chan found new pictures of Unite for The Universe Prime!"

I myself have found images of the Unite For The Universe Megatron figure on Amazon Japan.

Both figures are beautiful redecos of the Movie Voyager Optimus Prime figure and the ROTF Voyager Megatron figure.

Optimus comes in a color scheme similar to that of Buster Optimus Prime, and comes with new Jetfire parts to form his combined "Jetpower"/"Power Up" OP form, as well as a weapons platform and jet boosters for his vehicle mode.

Megatron comes in a much more movie-accurate color scheme of silvers and grays, unlike the greens and teals that the first version of this mold came in.

Both figures are currently TakaraTomy exclusives.

I wouldn't mind picking one up, looks like an awesome toy. Doubt it'll hit America though, and if Prime does, I see it going for $30-40.

FYI, I got those Megatron images directly from Amazon Japan. I put them in ImageShack and then posted them here.

Not to mention that I did give credit to the source of those Megatron images because Amazon Japan IS their source. TFW2005 got their same images from that same source. TFW2005 isn't the orignal source for those images, Amazon Japan is.

Though, I will admit to this news being a bit old, but only a few DAYS old. I couldn't get around to posting this info until earlier today, and since no one else posted it, it didn't get posted till now.

Also, please do not speak to me as if I were a newbie. I've been an admin on this site for at least 2-3 year now and have quite a good amount of experience at posting news bits here.

I wouldn't mind getting one of the O.P.'s but the Megatron I don't really care for at all. I hope this comes to Canada. If not I'll try and buy one at a convention.

That Prime is so bought. It's clear from the little details that Takara genuinely intended to do the design justice. I'm glad they chose to use the existing Voyager mold as the base toy. It's a great toy really. All it ever needed was a good paint job, and Takara looks to have provided. I don't care what the import price is, I'll pay it.

Dang! I was planning on doing a bash myself of the Voyager Optimus figure, paint all that grey plastic with Silver, redo the paint job and build a Jetfire add-on armor set out of an old SR-71 model I found at home here...well I guess they beat me to it. But that's not to say I can't try my hand at my own.
But yeah, those figs' do look good.

Yeah, that's really not too shabby of a mold, but it's to bad they're not using this (http://www.seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?event_id=131&size=2&image=9) new voyager, mold for Prime. If we're REALLY lucky they'll have thought of this already and to what they did with the Animated Prime flight armor (yet to be released) and make it fit on either Voyager Prime. Now that woud be awesome!
