Leaders Starscream, Battle Hooks Optimus Prime, and Battle Ops Bumblebee

Can't wait to get your hands on the latest Leader class figures? Well, this might tide you over till then. The-Arker has posted several in-package images of the upcoming Leader class Starscream, Battle Hooks Optimus Prime, and Battle Ops Bumblebee figures.

Starscream is a faithful representation of his ROTF CGI model. His special features include pop-up weapons and arm-to-cannon conversion. His bio reads:

"OPTIMUS PRIME may think him a coward, but STARSCREAM never flees a fight out of fear alone. Every retreat is calculated to keep him alive long enough to return and destroy his opponents with overwhelming power. As long as the AUTOBOTS seek him in force, he will remain hidden. As soon as OPTIMUS PRIME ventures out alone, however, STARSCREAM will strike."

Battle Hooks Optimus Prime is similar to the first release of the Leader Class ROTF Optimus Prime figure, with a few exceptions. Most notable are his battle damage paint apps, his mouthplate-less "Commander Mode Head" (previously used on the single release of the Buster Optimus Prime figure), and his new "Snap-Out Battle Hooks" in place of his swords. his bio reads:

"OPTIMUS PRIME is under no illusions about how dangerous STARSCREAM really is. The DECEPTICON second-in-command might be a coward, but he's still smart and powerful enough to present a real threat to Earth. The AUTOBOT leader has human and AUTOBOT agents combing the globe for the hiding air warrior. As soon as they find him, though, it will be OPTIMUS PRIME alone who goes in to bring him down."

Battle Ops Bumblebee is the latest installment in the Bumblebee toy army that stands as tall as a Leader Class figure. Its features include a flip-down battle mask in robot mode, arm-to-cannon conversion, and flip-out cannons in vehicle mode. There aren't any images of his bio, so we can't tell what it reads as.

well i think i'll pass on the optimus prime. already have the rotf leader and hooks and faceplateless head isn't enough for me. i'm not a fan of hasbro's battle damage ither. as for bb i'm considering it but not sure because i already have far too menny of him already lol. as for starscream leader it is a must. the moment i find it i will do what ever i can to get my fingers on it. love his film portrayal and the furst movie voiager ruined it for me. the rotf was quite good but the fact of the matter is he is far too small. the leader is perfect in my oppinion

Gotta get that Starscream!!! OP looks absolutely terrible. I'm not a fan of Hasbro's battle damage either, and the hooks are weird. BB looks really cool, but he's out of scale. This Optimus has brought disgrace to OP himself.

if optimus was missing the battle damage i might consider it. bb is way out of skail. i'm kind of on a skail frenzy at the moment lol. cant stand anything out of skail. might be judging incorectly though. i am visually impared so have to enlarge the pics witch kind of ruins the resolution but hooks and face does not make me want op. if they made the leader with a removable face plate and interchangable hooks an swords it would be fantastic. bb does look good however

Why does Optimus have hooks?
Sabrblade. said,  - 2010-03-17 20:30:00
@Jumpercliff: Because, during the forest fight in ROTF, Prime's swords got roughed up so badly that they were reduced to being in the hook shapes that we see here before us. These hooks were what he used to pry open and rip apart Grindor's face.

At least with battle hook Optimus we've got a new head sculpt and a retooling that keeps perfectly with the flim. I love the new Starscream. And I am glad to see those cannons on the big Bumblebee do in fact flip down. I mean I figured they would but I started to get worried when every single picture I saw of him had them up.

I still can't help but be a little chagrin that we do have an army of Bumblebees, but not one single Prowl or Omega Supreme.

perhaps we will get lucky in tf3? i too would like to see omega supreme and prowl get the movie treetment as well as possibly kup, hotrod, cyclonus and scourge. i am also shocked that with all the op repaints and moddles in the line we are still lacking the obligitory ultra magnus and nemesis prime repaints
Sidewinder said,  - 2010-03-18 08:29:54
to lioconvoy: An excellent point! We've been given the obligitory Bumblebees and various powered up-defender-battle damaged-sunday best Optimus Primes, but no Ultra Magnus. Maybe they are waiting for a chance to give UM a new individual figure, or maybe they just forgot about him. Yeah, Kup, Hot Rod, and especially Cyclonus and Scourge would be nice to see too.

whats the bet that someware down the line we will see the leader starscream remolded in to thundercracker and skywarp
DocWho said,  - 2010-03-18 09:57:56
I always thought Optimus just had hooks as well as his swords. Huh.

Don't care about Optimus, since I have the Buster version, but Starscream looks amazing! Bought on sight.

why do we still not have a good movie megatron figure? why spend so much time creating optimus prime and bb in there thousands and still no good mold for megs. if starscream gets such a cool mold why not give the same treetment to megatron
Megatron said,  - 2010-03-18 12:21:03
@ lioconvoy
I agree why do they keep resculting remolding and repainting the same stuff over and over again. the question is why doesnt hasbro do it right the first time. I think they want us to keep buying the same stuff. becomes boring, for example the rotf bruticus target exclusive is nothing but a repaint.
As far as the leader SS thats a new mold and will definitly be on my list but i bet you any money that hasbro will repaint it to the g1 color scheme. Im tring to sell some of my collection here very soon due to doubles and storage issues.
lioconvoy said,  - 2010-03-18 12:26:52
i can see a g1 starscream leader and it would be welcome. starscream has hargly any good movie figures. megatron still looses out on a desent figure though. like i mentioned in a previous poast they should just give us an optimus that has interchangable weapons and a removable face plate. we would all be happy then
Megatron said,  - 2010-03-18 14:27:33
Yes just like the cybertron prime where you can pull the lever and his face plate moves out of the way. the battle wounds look ok, I perfer the figure to have a clean look, but thats just me. Tformers.com has better looking pics of the up coming leader class.
lioconvoy said,  - 2010-03-18 14:30:39
yes that is what i was thinking megatron. just like animated or galaxy force prime. it wouldnt have taken much to do but its hasbro and there ideas about what people want
Overhaul said,  - 2010-03-18 16:12:55
At the very least, I would think they'd give us a Leader class Fallen, with a decent robot/vehicle conversion.
Bellprime said,  - 2010-03-20 08:20:00
Starscream looks awesome! Where can I get him?
Sabrblade said,  - 2010-03-20 10:59:36
