The opening sequence to the Japanese version of Transformers Animated on online now on YouTube!

It uses all completely new and original animation that was not used in the American version. And all I can say about it is: "WOW!!!"

Impressive. I like how they managed to make it all anime like even when it isn't an anime. Of course with trying to tie the plot into the movie-verse, that will make any story about as complex as an anime can get.

Well, the series' animation was done by several anime studios to begin with. So it does make some sense.

Um...who was the silver guy? Just after the sequence involving Blitzwing, theres a shot of some silver autobot who I do not recognize. The series looks good though.

@Sidewinder: That was Ironhide (the real Ironhide, not Bulkhead) in his silver armor plating, as seen in "Autoboot Camp".

Despite the fact that the animation is my biggest complaint about, well, Animated, that opening sequence actually was cool.
However, I'm glad we didn't have it here in the US for our Animated, because part of the fun of the show (at least for me) was being surprised by all the appearances of characters and plot developments. I wouln't want to be sitting watching the show wondering when Omega Supreme will show up.

But that leads me to another question: is Japanese Animated going to be a re dubbing of ours? Or is it based loosly on ours with our animation style?

A redubbing with episodes reordered and many concepts altered in order to make the seires into a prequel to the live action movies.

That intro was.....AMAZING! I always loved robo anime more than anything and that intro was a perfect take on it. The animation on it obviously adds an anime touch to the character designs, making them much shinier and more dimensional (as anime often does) while still retaining the basic style of the show. Not to mention the song was just amazing. Curious to me though was the fact that they used the US trademark names (Autobot and Optimus Prime) just like in the movie rather than their terms like Cybertron, Destron, and Convoy. I'll be interested in seeing how the show goes over with Japanese audiences with its more US style.
On a lightly related note I found on wikia that the Kiss Players Cassette Rosanna actually made an cameo appearance in Animated, which was quite amazing. I also finally listened to the Cd that came with the Kiss PLayers Cassettes and the remix of the original Jap Intro was likewise amazing. So today for me is just heaven in terms of Transformers music
