Yeah, this is a little different from our usual type of news.  But since I was young I've daydreamed about real Transformers.  Lately, I find myself wishing movie-Ratchet's vehicle was something a little more practical.  Something I could talk my wife into buying as our next "family vehicle"...  Nevermind that!  I want a really, REAL Transformer and it appears that this wish could actually come true; in my lifetime!  No joke.

The bad news is, it's going to cost about $150,000.  The good news is it won't be available until late 2009, so you can start saving! :)  The following link is to ZDNet, "technology" section, features an article about a manufacturer planning to produce a car that can transform into a plane!  Or is it a plane that can transform into a car...?  (Really.)  For an extra $150,000 you can order the "triple changer option package," which also transforms into a robot, so you won't have to pay for parking.  (Not Really. :)

This is completely unrelated, but I don't know where else to mention it. I was just looking at the guide for Cartoon Network (Dish Network Guide), and I noticed that Cybertron Episode 35, Escape, was set to air tonight at 3:30 a.m. (Pacific Time) on Cartoon Network. I know they have been wrong in the past, but you may want to set your recorders tonight.

It's no mistake Cartoon Network is airing new episodes.

And while a plane/car is neet and worth waiting for. You can buy a boat/car right now for $50,000 less. I forget the maker, but someone is currently building an amphibous sports car that is supposed to be roughly as fast as a base c5 Corvette.

Thanks for the link Brian. And, oops. I was way wrong about the price and performace.

I've seen concept images of that flying car like vehicle. It'll use of the shelf car parts to reduce cost, and it doesn't look like much of a 'transforming vehicle'. It has a bubble shaped cockpit and to be honest it looks out of place on the land as well as in the air.

I guess we know how Kevin is going to get to Botcon '09.
