Victory at Unicron.com

Posted by:
Byrerprime at 2008-03-03 2:11 pm   (site update)

Following the Headmasters and Masterforce series was Victory. One of the most popular Japanese G1 cartoons and toylines can now be found in the 1989 section.

Hope you enjoy, and I guess you can figure out what's next.

I know what it is. It's Transformers Zone! The Japanese equivilent to our season 4, where the first episode was also the last episode.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-03-03 17:45:29
It's amazing how much I wish that the Japanese series would see an English release. And I mean a serious release and not that crappy Korean one. I love the Victory series. Great chracters came out of this one. I look forward to the Zone update!
Jumpercliff said,  - 2008-03-03 17:52:52
The Victory section looks great. Now you Lukis Bros. can hopefully take care of character pages for 1988, the rest of '89 and '90, all of G2, updating Beast Wars/Machines and RID, and so on...
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-03-03 18:13:02
Blasten Blaster, what are you talking about? Zone came years after The Rebirth aired. TF: The Headmasters was the JG1 season 4, not Zone. After Headmasters came Masterforce, then Victory, THEN Zone.

TPR, the dub wasn't Korean, it was Malaysian, shown on the Malaysian channel RTM 1. Later it was shown in singapore on the Singaporean channel StarTV, whinch misledfans to refer to it as the "Singapore dub" or the "Star TV dub", when really its the "RTM 1 dub".
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-03-03 18:17:49
Sabr, you read way too much, lol. Either way, my point still stands, I want a serious, well done, official dub of these series. Maybe one day...

And I think that what BB meant is that Zone was similar to our S4 of G1 in that the rebirth was technically only one episode but spread over three parts, and Zone also only had one episode.

LukeTroop - You can join this year if you want or next. This a 5 figure over the course of 5 years set. This year is year 4. Next year we get the main body. This years fig finishes off the limbs. I think it's worth $40 a year to be a member, but some people are disapointed by the club. You can still buy the first 3 figs in the set at the Club Store. I would think, but can't gurantee, that you'd still be able to buy all of the first 4 figures until Jan or Feb of '09.

Hope that helps.

Thanks KW. My thoughts exactly. Joining the club has lots of great advantages: the magazine, discounts on other items such as Botcon, Astrotrain, Airazor, VECTOR SIGMA (hint hint! :)
http://www.transformersclub.com/shop/index.cfm?do=detail&productid=1302

But I'm not sure if my primary motivation would be that particular figure. As cool as it is, it's #4 of 5 and you may have to pay hefty to get the #1, #2 and or 3. Check out the club store and see if they have any further available. If not, try ebay. Good luck!

TPR, I read too much? I hardly ever pick up a (non-school) book. lol

12345678910, Zone, short for Transformers Zone, was the last animated Transformers series in Japan before Beast Wars. It was supposed to be a direct-to-video series, but lasted only one episode. In it, the new Decepticon leader/demon Violenjiger resurrects 9 large Decepticons (mostly gestalts and bases) and sends them to attack the Planet Z. The Autobots on that planet, led by Victory Saber, fight back, but lose and the planet is destroyed. Victory Saber goes missing and a new autobot named Dai Atlas takes charge. The battle shifts to Earth where several of the 9 Decepticons battle Dai Atlas' troops and are killed in by those Autobots. At the end of the episode, Victory Saber returns and passes on the Autobot leadership role to Dai Atlas and a new war begins. The rest of the story was told through a manga chapter and some story pages. In them, the Decepticons fight the Autobots until they are destroyed and then the Autobots take on Violenjiger, who splits himself into three insectoid beasts to fight the Autobots. However he is eventually killed as well.

This series was also known for its toyline consisting of almost noting but Micromasters (save for four large figures) and only two Decepticon sets were sold.

TPR is right Sabr, "Zone is similar to our S4 of G1 in that the rebirth was technically only one episode but spread over three parts, and Zone also only had one episode." thats is what I was meaning.
TriPredRavage said,  - 2008-03-03 22:05:32
Sabr, that wall of text you just made has to prove my point. There's know way you know all of that from word of mouth. I only know it from reading wiki articles, lol.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-03-04 05:22:15
I thought you meant reading "books", TPR. Which is why I made that little joke there.

Byrer prime said,  - 2008-03-04 06:30:49
You guys are right about Zone, but Sabrblade was not quite right about the seasons. Our first 2 seasons was Japan's first season. Our third season was their second season: 2010. Headmasters was actually their third season and Masterforce their fourth. Victory and Zone would be 5 and 6. Remember they didn't get Transformers until 1985, over a year after we got them. The same thing happened in Beast Wars, but happened in reverse for RiD. Not to even mention Beast Machines.
Sabrblade said,  - 2008-03-04 10:18:45
Well, yeah I knew about them getting G1 in 85, but it was easier to say Headmasters was S4 instead of S3 cuz if I said S3, some people might be confused and think I meant they didn't get 2010 (OUR third season).
Luketroop said,  - 2008-03-04 13:57:14
Thanks Knightwing but I am really mad that I have to buy them all. I want both for free so I will join soon. How many did they make so far?
Luketroop said,  - 2008-03-04 14:17:20
Wow the transformers club membership toys from the last years are really cheap on ebay. There is one for $5 on ebay and the same price for a non membership for $60 on transformers club.

When I first saw the title of this update, I thought Unicron.com had succeeded in some sort of online petition. Anyway, it would be sweet if we could get some character pages in the future. I've seen little of these characters besides Victory Sabre.
Black Starscream said,  - 2008-03-07 19:27:59
This is awsome! I never thought that the japanese figures would end up on here. This really one of the three best tf sites. Is there gonna be a page for Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo?
Black Starscream said,  - 2008-03-07 19:35:00
You guys should totally update some of the character pages with the Japanese versions. Like Piranacon and his appearance as King Poseidon.
Perceptor said,  - 2008-03-08 12:09:54
Thanks black starscream.
And yes, there will be character pages. Eventually. Lots to do, lots to do...
Chaos Bringer said,  - 2008-03-08 17:22:21
I'm afraid character pages are next to impossible, given the rarity of these toys.

Unless someone is actually willing to pay around $2000 for a boxed Victory Saber that's missing pieces...
