Spotlight: Cyclonus, Hardhead, Double Dealer? and Sideswipe?

Check out the newest entry on the blog of Chris Ryall, IDW Editor-In-Chief where he talks about the final installment in Simon Furman's "-tion" series, "Revelation" which will be done as 4 Spotlight issues.  He makes Cyclonus and Hardhead Spotlights official by showing cover images by EJ Su.  He also shows some rough (but nice looking) pencils for the 4-part wrap around cover.  To me, it sure looks like Double Dealer and Sideswipe.  Time will tell.  Here's hoping!

Yeah, that is Doubledealer and Sideswipe. The format is different; being told in four continuing Spotlight issues but I hope that doesn't mean we get cheated out of comics. And remember that just because its the last -ation series doesn't mean they're not doing more comics: they're just changing the naming scheme. The next series will be called Expansion.

huh, interesting! always wanted to learn more about that character. he apparently came from a shrapnel clone right? I wish to believe differ. in my theory hes actualy skywarp, not some insecticon clone. oh well can't argue about the continuity.

Interesting, now we see more in Hardhead and Doubledealer.

You wish to believe different than the "gospel of the Transformers Animated Movie?" Why would you want to do that???

"Expansion," huh? I actually didn't know that. (That's me, Mr. Out-of-Touch with Transformers news! :) It doesn't sound that far off "_-tion" or "_-sion"... I like the sound of "Expansion." It has a nice ring to it and seems like it holds plenty of potential.

no, its just.....well, I just have a hard time believing that they would trash a character as loyal as skywarp into just scourge or a part of the armada, thats all. skywarp was always my favorite of the seekers aside from thrust. just never felt that fond of starscream. I mean, he is a GREAT character and transformers wouldn't be the same without him but, meh. now then, must get my hands on a MP-06 Skywarp fig with corination set!

I've had a long day between uploading vids on youtube to struggling with schoolwork. btw who will be attending botcon this year? I need to also pick up a set of the golden disk reader for the transmetal megatron that I no longer own. And is there any word of "guests" at this years botcon? I gotta get my megatron fig signed by david kaye! It would'nt cost anything for that, would it? (twichy eyes)

I'm worried about Ryall's comment that this is the end of Simon Furman's storyline that began in 2005. Does that mean no more G1/G2 stories from IDW? Or just the end of this arc? If it is the end of G1/G2 will they be focusing on another continuity? Beast Machines? The Movie? Unicron Trilogy?

Just the story arc. They'll still be creating Transformers comics in the same universe because its a big property for them and they know they would be fools to move away from it. Sounds like Revelation will wrap up all remaining plot details we're still asking, ready for Expansion to start as a brand new chapter.

I hope so.
